  1. 1838 Darwin would agree with you but I believe that 2008 Darwin would agree with me. Just one example: Scientists are daily forcing evolution of virus, bacteria, cancer cells, etc. in their quest for the cure of whatever disease process they are researching.
  2. Got the call from the REA today. My Boston tickets are in the mail!! Now to book a room.
  3. My older son graduated a Redskin and my younger son graduated a Knight. I still love them both. Sometimes one more than the other. All depends on the day...
  4. We are forcing evolution everyday with scientific research, global warming, encroachment into habitats formally only inhabited by certain wild and plant life This is forced evolution which is a direct result of 'civilization', technological advancement, etc. Things we are doing today to our environment are a testiment to Darwin's theory of evolve or die. There is plenty of evidence to prove the actuality of forced evolution but I'm too lazy to look it up for you.
  5. I love you!! I just don't believe that the name change decision should be open to every one. There are waaaay too many people who believe they should have a say in what the new name and logo should be; including the Sioux council leaders who are demanding we change. Not everyone wants what's best for us. IMHO, the most rationale way to do it would be to limit the voters to alumni, current students, and staff. If need be, I'll give you half of my vote.
  6. There's only one so called 'fan' on this forum who thinks otherwise. The rest of us will always support our team/coaches/athletic programs. To do less because of a name change is ridiculous!!
  7. Since I haven't read of heard of Palin making any statement regarding the use of Indian names or logos, this discussion is pointless. Carry on...
  8. So, don't cheer for the state/university administrators who agreed to the settlement. I am one of the biggest supporters of our name and logo but I'm not going to stop cheering for my school's athletes if we lose the name and logo. Why ever in God's creation would I pull my support and no longer be a fan of the athletes from the great University of North Dakota. They are representing our school when they are competing and I am proud of their acheivements and proud of the work and effort it takes to excel in their sport. Ridiculous!!!
  9. Don't know why but this uniform looks like something the Soviet's would wear. Maybe it's the brown color.. UGH!
  10. Loyal is sticking with your team regardless of their name. If you are only cheering for the name and not the athletes, feel free not to cheer at all.
  11. That is the stupidest thing I have read since Palin's interview with Gibson!!!
  12. This was painful to read. We get a $110M gift from the Engelstad's with more in trust and now we're posting, 'let's sue them'. I understand where you're coming from, it's just hard to agree to it after all their philantrophy has done for us.
  13. Thanks Bob. I always forget about Tripadvisor. Great site.
  14. What do you know about the Constitution Inn? It's only $189/night. and near alot of 'touristy' stuff.
  15. No. I know I have to book one soon but the thought of paying over $200/night is painful. The cheap rooms are in the outer areas so I have to decide between convenience or cheapness. By the way, Siouxper Will is adorable!!
  16. Yep!! Just because you live in the community/state doesn't mean you have the same love and desire for the best for the U.
  17. Would have been much better if they had provided the web site address to vote.
  18. Gotta pay for the Sioux logo changes somehow.
  19. According to Hockey News tech people (I got an email in response to mine), there have indeed been 1300 votes with different IP addresses! Do we have 1301 Sioux fans who can turn this around?
  20. You're not the first and won't be the last. I've been quilty as well.
  21. Yep! Montreal hacker!!!
