There are times during the game, I hear myself yelling 'point, point'. Takes me back to when I was watching 'little guy' hockey.

The only thing I can think of is maybe they don't want a visual broadcast on tv and think it's less likely the EF bomb will be heard. Makes no sense...

I worked with a lot of Dakotah Sioux on the Sisseton Wahpeton Reservation who favor the name and logo. Their tribal council opposes the use of the name and logo. I'm no expert but I think the only way that Standing Rock or, for that matter, Sisseton gives the people the say so via a vote is if there is a new, democratic tribal council voted into office.

According to the news report that I saw, Standing Rock tribal council would not be taking the issue to the people. They stand firm in their opposition to the name and logo. Once the tribal council is voted into office, there is no opposing the tribal council on the rez!

I don't see anyone on this thread putting Hak on the mantel and praying homage to him. There has been overwhelming agreement that what he did was wrong. There has been disagreement on the fairness of his punishment. You are the only one who has alluded that Hak has committed other indiscretions but when asked you're silent, you're the only one who is attacking his character, you're the only one who doesn't seem to be able to accept his apology and UND imposed punishment. IMHO, you're purpose here is to make Hak look as bad as possible. Yes, you're getting flak from the membership. Because we also believe he's the best hockey coach in college hockey today and because his public character to date had been impeccable. He screwed up. As usual his character shows through, he apologised and has accepted his punishment without public whining.

The sad part of this situation is unless the Standing Rock Tribal Council does the same thing, nothing will come of it. The settlement agreement with NCAA clearly states that TWO tribes have to give their approval for the continued use of the Fighting Sioux name and logo by the University of North Dakota.

OMG! I thought you were just some guy with a 'holier than thou' attitude but now I see your some guy with a vendetta. You have to take that somewhere else!! As far as I'm concerned, this last statement of your's just ended whatever credibility you may have had before you posted it.

Have to admit, back in the day, I had a few great times in Dinkytown.

Have seen hoards of Goofy fans running for their holes every single time they are losing at games I have attended. I have witnessed this phenomenon when there is an entire period left in the game to seconds left in the game. But, I will admit it usually occurs in the third period; even when there is a possiblity that the Goofs could make a comeback. No hyprocrisy here, brother, just my observations.

What do you want? What punishment, in your opinion, fits the 'crime'? What other indiscretions has Hak done to support your statement that 'This was far from out of chaacter for Haksktol'? Not your opinion, but actual events. HAK MADE A MISTAKE!! We know that, he apologised, he's being punished. We don't all agree on the punishment. It's a done deal. Why keep slinging mud??
