After taking my three year old laptop in for repair three times in one month, they finally just gave me a new one. Those extended warrenties are NICE. Anyway, the new one comes with Vista. I had/have problems with it because I don't know how it works. Someone had to show me how to print out my documents. Maybe there's a learners primer somewhere, I just haven't looked for it. I'm busy and just want an visible icon or prompts. Also, I'm at a new facility and brought my laptop in to use on the job but Vista isn't compatible with the system here so I can't use it.

It was the students behavior that resulted in no alcohol in the student section. They had the privilege and lost it when they vandalized the seats in their section as well as other behavior I can't comment on because I don't have first hand knowledge about it.

If you read the article, you would know there was more to the students abuse than a picture of a swastika. Even if there wasn't, for a person who is Jewish, that picture is as powerful as the KKK symbol is to an African American. Frightening, IMHO. Not funny then, not funny now, not funny in the future.

No, judging it from news articles about corruption of funds and resources, about rigged/illegal elections, high school drop out rates, teenage pregnancy, children born with fetal alcohol syndrome, scientific findings re. drug and alcohol abuse on reservations in ND, first hand knowledge about elder, child and domestic abuse on the rez, etc. in addition to that website authored by a Native American. Why is it that those evidence based reports are not valid yet your unsubstantiated allegations are to be accepted at face value? Your not offering anything new to this forum that we haven't heard before. And like others before you, you avoid answering the 'sticky' questions. I'm done.

So many anti-name and logo students/former students say that they had horrible things happen to Native American students at UND, criminal things but no examples are given and none were reported to the police or to the University. I reiterate, there is racism everywhere. A racist is going to treat you differently if you are the 'wrong color, religion or race', be you African American, Native American, Jewish, etc. To blame a name and logo for racism is like blaming carbohydrates for diabetes. Do you propose getting rid of all the carbs? You don't believe what I post even with examples and my first hand knowledge. Yet, you say something(s) happened to you yet why bother identifying them.... Regarding the U's Indian Studies programs, I don't know about Montana (you can fill us in) but I do know that UND has more Native American programs than any other school in ND, SD and Minnesota. The only reason many don't want to acknowlege or admit that it's more than 35+ programs/studies are 'valid' is because of the name and logo. It also had, perhaps still does, more enrolled NA's than any University in these states. Feel free to correct me, my stats are about 2 yrs old.

You are correct, innocent until proven guilty. What I wish the U had done was move the victim to another dorm or apartment while conducting their investigation. I also wish they had communicated with the victim so he was not left with the belief that nothing was being done. If infact something was being done. You don't leave a victim with a suspected abuser(s). That's not right.

A couple, maybe three years ago, I had a couple thousand copies of the school songs made and had them distributed in the student section. They ended up on the floor and no one sang any of them. So much for, 'only the students get involved.' As I posted elsewhere, I always sing the National Anthem as do the two season ticket holders to my left. Before my son moved to AK, he would ask if I was ok if he didn't hear me sing. Everyone that wants to can sing along with the featured singer. But, I guess, if people were 'invited to sing along' they would be more apt to.

The name and logo are respected on the UND campus. That said, I totally agree that there should be zero tolerance for the actions against this student. The fact that the University had still not taken a stand on this is disgusting!! I am ashamed of the schools non action on this matter. When this happens over at St. Clown U, we are all over them, we should also be all over our own for the same reason!

This happened on the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Reservation. And if you read my entire post. I said, "There are homeless, hungry people all across America and that is our shame. " Read the whole post not just parts that suit your purpose. Yes, there are homeless people on reservations and no, they don't all have relatives or friends that will take them in. You may want to believe that "Extended families are big on reservations and a family member will always open their doors for another." but is not a reality. I DO KNOW THIS TO BE A FACT! And about it "may or not be true", it is true. Why is it that you want us to believe that only you speak the truth? Why is it always the non Native American that tells lies? Why is it that only non Native Americans are racist? I've run into my share of racists and more than one of them is a Native American. You have yet to answer any direct questions. You keep throwing out red herrings to confuse the issue but we're not so ignorant that we don't see your ploy.
