  1. You may be right.. I may be crazy. I have gone before too, and yes, the rooms were not in the cost so that is why I said I was not totally sure. I thought I heard him say the rooms were included. That would be great if you could check with her and post back. Just trying to get the word out and get the 35 people on the bus. Al is a one of a kind great guy and if you make the trip you will get to meet him and know why. No matter how old or young you are, you are guaranteed to have a good time you will never forget.
  2. He was on 1440 this morning. This is what I heard, and please correct me if I am wrong. I was driving to work, drinking coffee, texting, playing angry birds, and trying to listen to the radio. I might not have got it all. Bus leaves 9 AM Thursday, stopping in Chicago for the night and get to Cincy by game time on Friday. Around $450. They said that was rooms (2 people per room), tickets, refreshments, and bus. They need 35 people. He did not say how many they had already.
  3. If you got the time I would make this one for sure. I was planning on it but have other previous engagements that somebody has meade me aware of . My favorite trip for sure and the folks that ride the bus make the trip even better. The people on Al's bus go... eat, drink, eat,....eat, drink, eat.. all the way to town.
  4. Geez, the guy just stated his opinion with a little attitude and a bunch of folks all fired up over nothing. Kozek had a good year and if he and Atlanta worked something out it might be a good idea for him to take the offer. He could have nice year at UND again but there is no gaurntee. You know what they say about a bird in hand. I know I would like to see him back.
  5. That is a Cheers episode and they end up hurting McHale when they forget to replace a bolt while counting.
  6. I looked it up one time and found a number saying the Kohl Center ice sheet is 97.5 Feet wide That seems like an odd number. 1/2 feet short of olympic size.
  7. That was the first home game against Denver after the Bina hit so everyone was jacked to see some big hits. After that hit about 1 min into the game everybody settled down. Not to cool to see somebody get hurt that badly. Clean hard hit by Smaby but Trottier's skate cut his own tendon. It was good to see him do so well.
  8. We went to Michigan Tech. We partied and laughed for 3 days. If you can't have a good time with that group you have a serious problem.
  9. We stop in and have the steak and eggs special but stay away from the bloodys and screwdrivers because we normally have to work. We are trying to work on getting everything done tomorrow so we can fully participate this year. Just don't think I need to drink all day, been there and done that too may times. Sure is a good time though, lots of loud drunk people at 9 AM, and PA and Dubay like to get the the crowd fired up. Rich T and Esox, you are the same guys from fishingbuddy correct? I was out fishing last weekend. No fish but we at least tried.
  10. Mark Kauk AKA-"The Kaukster" is easily one of the top 10 if not the most popular person in Grand Forks. He lives to attend sports practices and games from Junior High to College, mostly hockey and football. I played HS hockey over 10 years ago and he knows my name and waves to me every time I see him to this day. Gretzky, who is also very well known, is his buddy. I am sorry I do not remember his real name. They tour the outdoor rinks in the winter challenging anybody that wants to take them on. The both are VIPs at football games and can be seen at hockey games as well. My best story is when we were at Ben Franklin school outdoor rink and Gretzky got hit in the head with a slapshot. He hit the ice and it looked like he would be hurt badly. He just got up, shook his head and kept going like nothing happened. Greatest ever. Brian Lee came in with high expectations and in my opinion, never lived up to them at the college level. More was expected of him and people were dissapointed that he got so much ice time and never turned into a superstar. Perhaps he will do better at the next level because I thought it was obvious that he had a ton of hockey potential.
  11. They are in the stands but not on the ice. Personally I do not care if we even have cheerleaders, most people barley notice them IMO.
  12. OK, sounds good. It is going to be a "Hought" Thanks
  13. A couple of buddies and I signed up to be on the bus. There are a total of 56 people riding. This is my first bus trip so I am looking forward to it. I plan on bring a deck of cards and Al said bring radio so I can listen to the vikes game on the way home. Guess there is no drinking until we get into Minnesota.... that will be at about 6:05 AM..... How long of a drive is it to Houghton??? Do I need to bring beverages or is there enough on the bus? After the games, can we walk to the bars in town? Give me the low down on Houghton.
  14. I was going to be there on other biz Monday, so I am headed down Sat mornig and need a place to party with Sioux fans too. I am usually on the KFAN site more often than here. Live in GF. Relatives are from Adams/Lankin area. I have been to the Town Pump II in Petersburg more than once.
  15. I have a season ticket next to the student section. I think it is horrible how the students get treated and singled out by the security and hasseled by the ushers. They act like the students are terrorists. It is almost comical to watch 4 cops all coordinate to pull out a student that is chewing toabcco and spitting in a cup. They need to take themselves a little less seriously and let the fans enjoy the game. As far as the ushers checking tickets, they usually get used to your face after awhile. They are just trying to do their job, but they try a little too hard. IMO, I do not care if somebody is sitting in my seat if I am not there. If I show up I just tell them it is my seat and the move. Never had a problem. Let them sit there if it is not being used.
