Thank goodness Bina was able to recover because he has been one of the bright spots this season. What a play.

webcast is up

I am watching the ECHL Game of the week between Trenton and Toledo while waiting for the webcast to come up. Troy Riddle slashed one of the Toledo D-man in front of his net and was he on the receiving end of a thumping. He might need some dental work for his trouble. It would be nice to see that kind of edge out of a Sioux D-man again.

The Central Scouting January result is available and Eidsness appears to be the top Sioux recruit at number 7 for North American goaltenders. Brad Malone is the top skater at #63 and is listed in the third round with Ben Blood #78. Bruneteau is listed in round six at #171. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10901&hubname=

In just a month Roche has gone from career minor leaguer to TSN's NHL Hot Players list. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?i...ame=nhl-coyotes

Fight after the Sunday night gopher/mavericks game
Sioux_Hab-it replied to If only we had Belfour's topic in Men's Hockey
Perhaps MSU had a hissy fit because they were expecting the even-up calls that are so typical of WCHA officiating. -
I haven't been called son in awhile but if that is you in your avatar picture I guess you are one of the few on this forum who can call me that . Of course I know games and practices are different. If you reconnect this to the rest of my original post, which you have conveniently removed, I also alluded to the fact that certain players had exhibited a scoring touch in playing situations prior to their Sioux careers. Maybe at the end of the day the lineup does lack the quality to score as you suggest, but I still believe some of them could are capable of more and need to elevate their play.
-
Even the role players were recruited because they had an offensive edge to their games in Juniors. Walski said they are scoring in practice but are some of them putting in the required effort to score in games. Apparently not.

Great win and at least they did get the split. I watched them outplay CC for 120 minutes in their rink two years ago and leave with nothing.

Roloson has given up 20 goals?
-
Someone actually shoots and scores. Way to go Big Joe!
-
At the Saturday game they usually have an Alum dinner that is attended by the coaches, an excellent event.
-
Like you said PCM we will even take a dirty goal at this point.
-
Toews, already said in one of his interviews that he will return to Grand Forks after the weekend.
-
The lack of scoring is getting painful It was Seabrook who took the knee on knee for DU and he has gone for medical attention.
-
Anyone in GF who can give us updates I hope the Sioux don't waste what sounds like a decent performance from Lammy.

He is a big goaltender and fills alot of the net. You have to get him moving side to side to beat him. On a positive note, Travis Roche just set up the game winning goal for Phoenix in OT at Atlanta.
-
Who will Luapsided cheer for this evening. The Sioux will have more than twice as many Canadians in their lineup.
-
Friday night feature game is Phoenix at Atlanta. Thus far Travis Roche is doing a great job of containing Kovalchuk. For Luapsided's benefit that is a Canadian doing a great job at checking a Russian. Ballard didn't do a good job on Hossa so 1-0 Atlanta.
-
Along with several player of the game awards and a first team All-star award. Sadly, it will be NHL hardware that he will be winning next.
-
Finally, got to a computer after another exciting win. Before I race back to see Toews get his medal I just wanted to pass on my condolences to Luapsided. Just remember that your Russians gave it their best and if it makes you feel any better they at least retained their title as the number one actors in the sport of hockey.

Imagine picking up a Stanley Cup near term contender as your new tennant. Lucky KC fans if they get to watch this lineup right away. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=190841&hubname=nhl

With the three shootout goals they were using the word "Icon" to describe Toews and North Dakota must have been said at least a dozen times during the contest so you can't buy better advertising than that.

With the Canes current slump and lack of scoring I fully expect Bayda to get another shot at sticking with the big club.
