I didn't find this funny at all. While he was intoxicated the student athlete in question spouted off exactly how he feels about himself and his standing in his community. If a hockey player at UNO can have such an inflated ego regarding his standing in the world can you imagine what some of the players at the traditional hockey powerhouses must think. I suspect many of them begin to believe they are above the law to a certain degree. Most of the fans are treating these players like professionals and their heroes, so not much wonder the UMTC players who frequent Blarneys saw their freebies as a natural entitlement. Some promising pro hockey careers have ended prematurely when young players have failed to mentally adjust to the fame and extra attention. I am dating myself again but the best example of all time was Derek Sanderson of the Bruins. Google his name if you are under forty to see what could have been.

If Morin is injured then the Sioux need to do what everyone in the WCHA was doing to Toews and Oshie when they were hurting in the first half. Drive him to the ice every chance you get.

Remember they don't discuss hockey on GPL so they come here to get the truth and then get their eggs in a knot. I couldn't imagine wasting my valuable time on another team's site but such is their sad existence.

If I am a potential Canadian recruit reading the @#$* some of you are posting in this thread I would have second thoughts about the CHL option instead. Sorry but a citation for getting caught in a bar at age 18 and older is not going to be taken seriously by any Canadian kid that I have ever known. The punishments and consequences some of you are suggesting for something so minor could get you an unfortunate response from a player like "C ya". However, getting freebies and kickbacks that you aren't entitled to will get you kicked out of most Canadian organizations too. Like it or not the two issues are Apples and Oranges.

I can't believe this thread is taking away from discussing hockey. Toew's mother is French Canadian so chances are he has been having wine with his meals for several years now. JT drinks alcohol, so get over it. Kids from Oshies hometown have been hopping across the border to Canada so they can legally drink for years now. Oshie obviously has had some suds, so get over it. Do you think anybody who matters really cares about this minor offence. If they do, GET OVER IT.
