Actually Backes has been playing with the big club for awhile now and has been doing fairly well.

I hope you are right because I just don't see anyone from the current lineup being capable of even partially replacing the loss of the DOT line. As good as he is, Dunc isn't going to do it on his own.
Blake is rumoured as well. The scarey thing thus far is the number of players that St Louis is dumping. I fear they will raid the College ranks for talent at the end of the NCAA season, inlcuding Oshie.
I agree, hence my comment about a week ago that maybe Nash had waited too long and the Sioux went after just as capable an acquaintenance of his instead. They had very similar numbers when they used to play against each other on a regular basis in Midget AAA.
I wonder if Toews is really gone after this season. If his condition remains that he only plays with the big club it could still be an interesting challenge for the Black Hawks. If Skille signs with Chicago as soon as Bucky is officially bounced will there be any room for Toews on the big club either this season or next fall.
It is just a Canadian tournament on the side as part of the Canada Winter Games. It is mostly players from Major Juniors who are midget age with a few others mixed in and it will give coach Jackson a really good idea of how good Toews is against top talent his own age.
Toews had two assists in Manitoba's 12-2 win over PEI. His old buddy Tessier is playing for Team New Brunswick and had 4 goals and 2 assists against BC in an 8-6 loss. Too bad he didn't want to come to UND and went MJ instead.
It is White Horse in the Yukon. He is playing for Team Manitoba at the Canada Winter Games, in a midget age hockey tournament.

They should wear them more. However, regardless of the jerseys and some of the mistakes on Friday night, the Sioux were still within an Oshie post clanger of sweeping the Pies in their barn.
