  1. Nothing positive about blowing this game, there is still no fight in this year's team.
  2. Not clear enough. Oh well
  3. You misundertood. Lapointe wristed that right to Lapointe. He didn't try to put it on net hence it was not a shot that went wide. On the replay you could see Lapointe look right at Trupp vice the net. Clear enough?
  4. Watch the play again, it was deliberate. Lapointe spotted Trupp all alone to the side.
  5. What a heads up play by Lapointe. Memories of Roche right there.
  6. He could quit and it wouldn't matter to this team All of the forwards are contributing with VanR and Ruesegar (sp?) as the two standouts thus far today.
  7. First Periods are over with good news. USA 1 Russia 0 Canada 1 Sweden 0 Although I am Canadian I must admit that I think this USA team might be your country's best ever in terms of balance and are my pick for Gold. The Canadian team may have the talent and speed but they are depending on too many underagers this year, second youngest Canadian team ever at the tournament. Can't wait to watch Tavares here in Ottawa for next years tournament.
  8. Nice to see the Freshmen chipping in. So Don Adam needed medical attention from the Sioux trainer. I say apply the tournequet to his neck
  9. There is the season hanging in the balance.
  10. Even with my green colored glasses that was a borderline call.
  11. Call it my green glasses but if a Sioux player did that it would be a five.
  12. The regular announcer has replaced TH for the radio broadcast due to a death in his family.
  13. Hard to believe it took him this long to get his first of the season. I hope that opens the floodgates for him, the rest of this season.
  14. Sweeney displays his mastery of the French language with his pronunciation of a UNH player's name. "Charleyboy"
  15. UNH will miss VanR as he is by far the best player on the ice for team USA today. Score now 3-1 USA over the Swiss nearly half way through the third.
  16. Given how tight the WCHA is this season the out of conference games are just too important, especially against a ranked opponent. JPL plays both.
  17. I believe it is the performance incentives. I believe that Toews base salary is around $850,000, while the numbers presented are what the players could earn and I think it is fairly safe to assume that both Toews and Kane will likely cash in. Skille on the other hand is only earning minor league pay.
  18. In todays Spengler Cup game on Sportsnet you have Murphy with Canada playing against Naumenko for the Swiss team. Score is 4-2 Canada early in the third. Update: Murphy blasts a 70 footer for a goal (reviewing for a possible tip) to make it 6-2 Canada
  19. Turris was the feature player for this mornings TSN pregame and most of his college footage was taken from the weekend series against the Sioux. Of course they didn't mention that he had a quiet weekend but still nice to see them feature so much of the Kelly Green.
  20. For those of you who get Sportsnet you can watch Curtis Murphy playing for Canada in the Spengler Cup. They are up on the Czechs 3-2 after two periods. Update Canada won 4-3
  21. The Vancouver fans may have been jerks for booing a couple of years back, but I think the players would take booing over having coke bottles and key chains tossed at them. What classy people the Czechs are.
  22. He's been with you for the past several seasons.
  23. I guess three out of 50 players can't be wrong.
  24. I think we are in agreement. Your stats likely prove my point that they are merely trying to make their product more marketable vice posturing for a move to the NCAA. The point of concern I was trying to make is that they are dramatically increasing their scholarships which could take away Canadian talent that is currently coming to the NCAA. The other schools in Canada will have to follow suit if they want to remain competitive and soon the level of play in the CIAU will start escalating to a level where it is also a bona fide feeder for the NHL as well. The added bonus for the players is that a couple of games of pro hockey doesn't end your eligibility to return and play for you school, the real threat to DI as I see it.
  25. Just got back from that game and JT didn't disappoint. Amazing to see him wearing the A on his jersey as a rookie in the NHL but he is clearly already one of the leaders.
