Does this mean that the Gophers get relegated and replaced by UMD for next years Minnesota tournament. Their fanbase must be thrilled to be team #5 in their state.

UND FIGHTING HAWKS @ Western Mich - SATURDAY

Featured NCAA game on TSN2 in Canada. -
There is a right way to settle things when an opponent has a big Yap. Speaking of former large mouth Gophers I wonder if Vanilla's nose still points East when he is facing North.

I agree when they all showed up, but consistency is also being part of great hockey player and team. Cheers -
The NCAA Championship Game Dream Match-Up: BU vs. PC

Actually the two walk-ons you speak of help prove my point. The two you speak of were fully engaged and committed to the UND program and willing to do whatever was required of them to win. The lineup needed more just like them. -

I disagree with the whole parity argument. This is all about having both good goaltending and role players in your lineup, which is the downfall of the teams that load up with a bunch of #1 prima donna picks. I wonder how many more times the so called elite teams will have to get beaten in the playoffs by hard working blue collar teams that play better two way hockey before they figure this out. I remember a time with UND had real role players and those Sioux teams polished off plenty of better on paper teams. Have a great summer. -
So we have already seen how it is going to be. They can trip, UND can't.

So this individual is still happy that his team left for the Big preTENder conference. Good for him

Actually DU is up 4-0

Having a retired NHL official in charge when all of the leagues restructured would not have been that expensive. They have pensions already and most of them probably would have welcomed the opportunity to stay involved in the game. More importantly they could hold the old duds accountable and teach the up and comers the right way to officiate.
-
Solutions were available to the league two years ago but instead it hired from within the same pool to oversee the officiating. They could have hired a retired professional official who wasn't all huggy touchy feely with your Sheperds, Andersons etc. There is still no accountability so please share with us why you think we had to be left with the same old stain on the game.
-
With that attitude it is not much wonder nothing has changed. It certainly didn't have to be the same lunatics running the asylum.
-
It was obvious to us old time fans that by the 1990s the officiating was not keeping up to the improved caliber and speed of NCAA hockey. Given the quality of the WCHA teams it was especially evident that a change was needed. The restructure two years ago provided an opportunity for change, but what did the NCHC do. It filled the shed with exactly the same old useless tools. A missed opportunity that I view as a self-inflicted wound, which is why I have stopped ranting about it.
