Well Cletis, of course he has to shot the gall dang puck because unlike Oshie and Toews he can't get close enough to bury it.
-
Yep and a time or 2 it they were from the bench.

I am sure all his little buddies are rasing a glass to him at Blarneys as I type.

Is there enough room on the nameplate to accomodate "Gopher Exterminator" ?

He was already on the first line against Ottawa for Tuesday nights SO win.

T.J. Oshie & Drew Stafford Named To Inside College Hockey Teams

I seem to recall that about 25 years ago that the Gophers were certain that a young 18 year old D-man was going to wear the brown and yellow but if memory serves me correct Phil Housley jumped straight to the Buffalo Sabres. There have been others and there will continue to be others. When you are talking someones playing career and abilities "A handshake is as good as a wink or a nod to a blind man". -

But I thought we were talking about Gopher recruits -
He definitely would win quickest exit from the NCAAs by a WCHA team.

Wow sorry, I should have know better than to compete with the Don's hairdresser. Additionally, I have never known any 18 year old to change their mind even when an immediate $600K+ payoff is involved. Silly me what could I have been thinking of. -

His school year started when? Wasn't it at the WJC that he found out just how well he compared to all the other prospects. As a result NHL Analysts say otherwise, money talks and Johnson will go pro. I think you are the one who has difficulty believing and accepting the facts. Why else was it so hard for you to believe and accept that Oshie is a better hockey player than the one move wonder. -

Besides, if Pittsburgh gets the first pick they will take Johnson and they will bring him right into the NHL. Chicago or St Louis would pick Toews and I am not sure which way Washington would go. -
IMO the only player who is a potential quick departure after the FF is Smaby. Tampa Bay has several key D-men missing or banged up while trying desperately to hang on to a playoff spot.

Imagine my surprise when I moved into Ottawa last summer and found out that my neighbors had named their Black Lab, Dakota Sioux. It turned out they didn't know a thing about the hockey team but fell in love with the state during one of their many motorcycle tours.

That made my evening.

Maybe he is so embarassed by being outperformed and outclassed by Oshie and Toews that he has decided to take his one move to Major Junior instead. Where he can get outperformed by the 16 year old Esposito and 15 year old Tavares instead.

You've got that right. I had to pay $6.25 for a 14oz draft at last nights Sens/Devils game. Mind you that was in Canadian funds.
-
Perhaps the future Mrs. Sparky factors into the equation in some way.

You forgot the caveat that the seats must be completely occupied by Gopher fans for the big event. Just promise them free cover charge, free booze and a pyrotechnics display they will never forget.

Schneider got handed his loss last year by the Sioux because we have players who can go to the net. The bigger challenge for the Sioux will be shutting down BCs top two lines so the score will likely be tighter than last year. As for Maine, their program is in many ways like that of the Sioux and they are peaking at the right time too. Some of their players such as Leveille have elevated their play as the season has gone on so they will give Wisconsin a respectable battle. I should have known better than to count them out in the pool.
-
You are correct In that case Toews won't go any lower than number two.

If I could get in I would ask him if they are out to avenge losing the Beanpot to North Dakota last season. -
I guess they must have pulled on their "M"ercyhurst Jerseys for that one.
-
Toews, won't go any lower than number three and that will only happen if the two top teams want a blue chip Dman and pick Johnson and Staal one and two. If St Louis or Chicago gets the number one pick Toews could go number one as they need talent up front. Pittsburgh clearly needs help on their blueline ASAP as do others and Johnson and Staal are both ready to step right into the NHL.

This was a good subject for debate before the playoffs. Now it is over, game set and match to Toews.

Cornell can't use the big pond excuse this year because wan't that a pro size rink.
