Maybe slightly but they bring nothing to the league other then cannibalize USD and SDSU in the market they already share. You don't make moves that hurt your league, you make moves that grow your league. Augie doesn't grow the Summit League in anyway.
-
I think we have the SF market locked down already, adding Augie is like adding Moorhead State.
-
It is happening per Izzo and McFeely. SUU was in the Summit earlier, they brought nothing to the league and I doubt much is going to change when they come back. The WAC had some great members but we got the cast offs that nobody wanted. Step back from the solid work the league had been doing with expansion.
-
Utah schools incoming, Fenton with an expansion dud.
-
I would have been fine if they used Sagarin or Massey and put NDSU at #3. Sagarin is what gave SDSU the AQ, that said you can't use that metric for SDSU and then something different for NDSU and USD which is what some are suggesting. USD's schedule was a step below NDSU and SDSU, maybe Augie screwed SDSU but I would take Augie to beat the Utah Tech team that bailed on SDSU which is why the game happened in the first place. That said, I don't think the committee even really considers DII games, much less the strength of your DII opponent.
-
Augie is decent I guess who SDSU played, Northern State though is trash. USD's schedule was a clear step below SDSU and NDSU which is why they are #4. I am actually kind of surprised NDSU wasn't bumped to #3 all things considered, NDSU and SDSU are very close so I don't get this giant conspiracy.

Why would they care? The Summit is not a football conference and those president's are not going to get into NDSU's football business. They have no motivation to do so.
-
It isn't illogical at all and it is why Fenton won't play that game. There is no motivation for him to play that game either outside of a few schools that play a sport that many league members don't sponsor.
-
It wouldn't get to that point but it would likely be full MWC and perhaps it ends up costing the Summit SDSU as well to give NDSU a travel partner.
-
Every school that doesn't have football that NDSU is in very good standing with. Schools that probably wouldn't want their premiere program to face a similar power play from Fenton that aren't in the Summit. SDSU might as well because NDSU might be its only FBS lifeline if it gets in the MWC.
-
That would be his last act as Summit commissioner.
-
Well the school did build him a new arena, practice facility, provided cost of attendance and is shelling out for charter flights to places like Macomb. His coaching has been above average at best but the school has given him whatever he has needed. Kind of makes the point about it being all about football dumb. The sports that struggle at NDSU are because of poor hiring decisions and not due to a lack of support. That said I think UND FB is in a similar spot, just bad hire after bad hire. The Bubba hire was just awful, he had a resume that screams nothing by mediocrity. A retread brought in simply because of the past. Your AD needs to look for some fresh blood.

That is a palace compared to WIU's arena.
-
The Horizon is built around urban schools, WIU is about as far away from that as you can get. Macomb makes Vermillion look like Vegas. If WIU goes anywhere it will probably be a lower division. Nobody wants them, they are a struggling school that brings nothing to the table. As has been said before, the Summit will add a D2 school and the NCAA will give the league waivers until said school is eligible.
-
Probably UNLV but he is visiting Iowa State tomorrow..he was probably one of the best recruits the Summit has gotten, three star from Kansas...Rabbit fans saying a JUCO they were looking at also may end up at UNLV.
-
They lost their best player to graduation, their best recruit and now their best returning player....Quite the trifecta. Wonder if he ends up at UNLV?
-
Now SDSU loses Jenkins....The league has been gutted of most of its top talent either by graduation or transfer....
-
Well they get a night off if they win and play on what is pretty much a home court....SDSU is getting plenty.

Augie announces they are examining the move to DI
FargoBison replied to Wildfan's topic in NCAA News
They don't really have much of an effect on our schools, I guess their will be some minor recruiting impacts with more competition in the region. It is a significantly bigger issue for the SD schools, who look like nothing but pushovers to whatever Sanford demands. -
Odd, I never think of that in regards to Jack Michaels. Just a guy trying to do a job that he loves.

UND (2-3, 8-10) vs SDSU (4-1, 14-6) 1/16 7 PM
FargoBison replied to SWSiouxMN's topic in Men's Basketball
If anything Daum gets more calls in SF, the UND fans complaining haven't seen nothing yet. At least he isn't as bad as Richman, North Dakota coaching toliet bowl on Saturday. -
Yeah, GCU is pretty much the reason why Denver is in the Summit.
-
Both JMU and Towson are in, they are playing for a seed. Elon might be in some trouble though since they had a cancelled game but the comittee might show them some mercy. CAA clearly going to get at least five in. I think the big game for UND next week is really Montana-MSU. You have the trump card on the griz.

I think his posts were restricted due to his obsession with a certain school, then he had a meltdown and joined with up with lakes on his board. But after what he did at CS.com I don't think even lakes wanted him around.

It was championshipsubdivision.com where he lost it, somebody gave him a Sioux avatar and then things got x-rated.
