  2. Hooker is going to be Big Sky POY material when he is a senior.
  3. Fun game to be at last night. This team just can't get over the hump, especially at home it seems. Can't really criticize much from last night except the inability to get some key stops at the end, and the officiating. Maybe Shanks' best game overall. Cashman also had a nice game off the bench so had great production from the 5 spot.
  4. I think the flight availability plays a big role too. Many more options out of Fargo.
  5. I guess I was trying to imply that he is a deft passer for a big man and seems to have soft touch around the rim.
  6. Doubtful. I believe UND basketball normally flies coach and usually out of Fargo as well.
  7. Questionable officiating during the last few sequences. Weber up 2 with 3:42 left....
  8. Twice as many fouls on UND as there are on Weber
  9. Weber sure does hit some timely 3 pointers.....
  10. Pretty good student section here. But they just sit on their thumbs. Need a jumbotron to egg them on.....
  11. Hooker is a joy to watch. Shanks has really good hands for big dude.
  12. Estan Tyler with a 9-0 run to start the second half. Sioux up 3...
  13. 26 UND 30 WEBER HALF Neither team shooting well.
  14. Just for a discussion point, here is the attendance numbers for the Big Sky championship game the last few years: 2014: 6294 @ Ogden 2013: 7172 @ Missoula 2012: 7042 @ Missoula 2011: 3182 @ Greeley 2010: 6308 @ Ogden 2009: 1546 @ Ogden 2008: 4113 @ Porland 2009 was the only year that the host school wasn't in the championship game. Here is the last two years attendance for all games of the WAC tournament held in Las Vegas: 2014: 1284 2013: 1092 I worry that a Big Sky Tournament in Reno might have numbers similar that of the WAC in recent years.
  15. Here is part of the problem with the current format........... Sacramento State could host big basketball tournament - but where? 16. I wonder where they would have it? Their gym holds 1,200................
  17. I have a question that I honestly don't know the answer to. If someone is on a full scholarship, let's use men's basketball as an example because there are no partials for that, does the scholarship include housing & a meal plan at a residence hall? If it does, which I assume to be true, how is the scholarship money handled if the student-athlete chooses to live off campus?
  18. If you really believe this stipend is going to eliminate boosters providing improper benefits to student-athletes at the big schools, I think you are going to be disappointed with the end result of this. We will just have to agree to disagree and that is fine.
  19. If I wanted to go to college at Notre Dame it would cost me $46,263 per year. The way I look at it, 85 young men between the ages of let's say 18-23 years old are already earning a salary $46,263 per year. They don't have to pay income tax on that salary either. I think they are being compensated well above the market value of most 18-23 year olds.
  20. I think the most important number from that article is the fact that UND is apparently playing with 2 more scholarships than FCS allows! What a scandal! Kudos to the Herald for digging up that juicy nugget.....
  21. TOM MILLER: The arms race is about to begin
  22. That was my understanding. This whole stipend thing seems like an entry level welfare program to me.
  23. Regarding the whole "stipend" situation in general, I think it is forking ridiculous that a free education is apparently not enough for these student-athletes. The free-education is their payment. What most kids pay $15,000-$25,000 a year for is their salary. If you are currently getting any scholarship money, you are already being paid for your play. And now, to make matters worse we are going to give even more money to the student-athletes that need it the least. More money for those students that are already on scholarship. Nothing for the walk-ons that are working just as hard AND paying their own way.
