Being the only Dakota school in the Big Sky is a huge opportunity, that is now lost, that for some reason has never been embraced by the leadership at UND and a good contingent of the fanbase. But hey, as longs we get to play NDSU, life is good I guess. It's all about the Bison.

I totally agree that your record says what you are capable of. But on the recruiting front, I don't think it is a stretch to say that Jones has probably brought in two of the ten best players (maybe even top 5, 6 or 7) ever to wear a UND uniform in Huff and Hooker. That's what makes his lack of success so frustrating to me. The problem with Rich Glas when he left IMO, was that he got lazy as a recruiter. He is one heckuva a coach and motivator. He would have had loads of success with the players that Jones has brought in over the years. Thats my two cents anyways.............

Regarding the Juco transfers, this goes way back to the DII days, but Emanuel Little and Earvin Youmens were excellent acquisitions. I believe he snagged them his first year here........ All in all, I think Jones has been an excellent recruiter in his time here. In my eyes, that is the one thing he is really good at so I give him credit for it. And I am a Baldwin fan as well.......

I like the Midco analyst Greg Stemen's explanation of the UND offense: "not coherent, not consistent, and not confident". Pretty much sums up the last decade or so of college basketball in Grand Forks.

Randy Rahe would win a lot of games with the players that are on the North Dakota roster......

I wonder how competitive they will be long term. They were very good for about a 13 year stretch before they left the Big Sky. Other than that brief time period, they have been a pretty poor program regardless of their classification.

As evidenced by the football program, increased success yields increased donations from alumni. What has the basketball program accomplished in the last 10 years to entice donors to be more generous?
