  1. It was on Altitude.
  2. I hope you don't mind, UND92,96 , but I asked coach your question when he was on Mac Talk this morning. He said they won't red shirt him, and they hope he'll be ready to play on Thursday, and if not he will definatly be back by the Western Washington game in a month.

  4. Softball Coach Sami Strinz was on Sioux Sports Extra tonight. She mentioned that they do play a few fall games. South Dakota St. was one of them. And a home game in early October as well. She said the team will have a 56 game schedule this season and 50 of them will be against DI teams.
  5. This weekend, I saw a full page ad for UND in the Sept. 8 issue of Sports Illustrated. I don't know how that stuff works, if it was a truly national advertising campaign, or if SI breaks down its distribution to different regions so this maybe was just a "upper midwest" issue. Just thought it was kind of neat to see.
  6. ISU is giving up ~240 rushing yards per game. Perhaps that is the reason the Sioux were so persistant with establishing the run game Saturday. The Bengals' key player appears to be senior WR/PR Eddie Thompson. He has alot of catches so far, but not many yards. He had a very nice season last year. Their QB is just a sophomore, but he did start 9 games last season. He has thrown 4 INT's so far. ISU has not had alot of success running the ball so far this season. Although they pretty much abandoned their running game against Idaho when they fell behind quickly. Their head coach is somewhat known for liking to pass, but so far it looks like it has been alot of underneath passing, as their longest pass play has been 23 yards. I think North Dakota is the better team in this matchup, but it is ISU's home opener, they'll have had nearly two weeks to prepare to UND's 5 days, and we have spend one of our 5 days travelling. All factors that can't be ignored. If UND can run the ball anywhere close to the way they did on Saturday, I think we'll be in good shape. I like the matchup of our run defense against their run offense. Get in the backfield and disrupt the QB. ND 20 ISU 16
  7. There is a free video webcast at BigSkyTV.org
  8. My thoughts: -Best complete game on both sides of the ball so far......they did exactly what I expected they should do against a DIII team -The run defense is very good -The entire defense was very good overall today.......if not for the one big pass play by UW-L, score would have been 45-0 -Josh Murray is good. He makes good decisions and is a patient runner. Could be a big star for this team for the next 3 yrs. -Ismael Bamba runs fast. Hope he gets more reps either at WR or on special teams -Loyal Janke has lost a step over the years -Students must have went to the library after halftime. -Dominique Hawkins continues to impress me both in the secondary and on special teams -It's true SiouxMD, popcorn is expensive, and hot butter not only costs more, but you have to negotiate for it
  9. Man, if I were playing on the opposing side of the ball as all these guys that have long hair hanging out their helmet now-a-days, I'd be reaching and grabbing at ever folicule I could!
  10. Travesty averted
  11. Besides North Dakota, there are 14 other schools in the country that share an open date with Cal Poly. This game won't happen. My money is on Nicholls St playing Poly on Sept. 27. Nicholls has had two games cancelled now, and are down to a 9 game season.
  12. Cal Poly's game with McNeese St. has been cancelled and will not be made up this season.
  13. Earlier posts in the "2008 Schedule" thread indicate that our game with SELA is for this year only.

  15. 10 years sounds about right to me. The Alerus will be sold out for every game startin sometime in the 2010 season. Sell outs mean buzz, TV revenue, increased ticket prices. If ticket demand continues to outpace supply by year 5 of the new agreement with the Alerus, then start talking about an on-campus stadium. However, I firmly believe that an outdoor stadium in Grand Forks will reduce demand. What the demand is in 5 years remains to be seen.
  16. UND is in NORTH DAKOTA!
  17. Wow..........spoken like someone who truly has absolutely no clue what-so-ever about how switching divisons work. No hard feelings, not everyone is as big of a nerd as me. I'm sure the student-athletes would really like to thank you for your support though. Way to go! People keep bringing up Valparaiso. Valpo made a name for itself in DI basketball. Fact is they recruit the same players as UW-Lacrosse. The two teams UND has defeated this season would probably have put up 50 or more points on any Valpo team, and UW-Lax would probably come close as well.
  18. They also beat South Dakota in 2003, and DII Washburn in 2002 and 2001.

  25. Coach Mussman was just on Mac Talk and mentioned that there could potentially be one road game televised this season. Southern Illinois, perhaps? Could also be South Dakota, I believe they have a similar arrangement with Midcontinent that we do.
