    Adams sits again. Hmmm.

I'm nervous the love affair for the Simo line is gonna be the detriment to this team. The line was clicking best with Rieger and not Olson so that is one spot that can be replaced. Adams needs to be in on a team that struggles to score!

It looks like Cruikshank might be done for the season with Penticton due to injury.

Does anyone know if we have an offer out to Cruikshank? Or is that just the assumption? I'd thought he would have made a decision by now.

I thought Frank Serratore absolutely nailed it with his comments. He did not act like a whiner or sore loser, he made the point that his team got hosed. AF is not as skilled or speedy as DU and many fans who have not experienced the reffing advantage that DU has received this year will think that Frank had to have his boys clutch, grab and poke more than normal just to try to keep pace. I too lost every once of respect I had for Monty on the weekend UND played there in November. It is hard to like opposing players or coaches, but Monty WAS one I actually liked. All coaches should stand up for their bench, some do it with dignity like Serratore, Blais or Berry and then their is Montgomery. That series and the series DU had vs the Clowns a week previous put Motzko way ahead of Monty in the most likely opposing NCHC coach to succeed category.

I'm with you here! I've never seen a coach whine about everything and totally intimidate the officials into getting literally every call on Saturday night and he didn't stop whining even after.

I'm not a big Olson fan but the 4th line with him, Smith and Simo needs to stay intact. Not sure who sits for Bowen but he needs to play. IMO Mismash, Gersich, Pogo, Adams, Hoff, Jones and Gardner are in the lineup.

Yon, JJ, Guchi...............2 of these 3 will sit tomorrow.

For me it's Olson and it's not even close. Since he's been back, that line has kept trucking due to Smith and Simo so sticking Bowen in for Olson would only improve that line in my opinion. Also, I don't think JJ sits when healthy.

Would be a huge get, BUT I'm still pretty embarrassed by the U18 attendance two years ago. I wouldn't blame any sanctioning body for holding that against GF/REA for a long time.

I would be more embarrassed by the U20 crowds in Buffalo. They have somewhat recent history of attendance numbers at the Ralph for the U20 so it would be weak if they held the U18 attendance against them.

    Absolutely embarrassing crowd turnout

It would be an absolute joke if the Ralph never gets the World Junior again based on capacity. Every USA game (other than the outdoor obviously) has had pathetic attendance. I don't know if the Canada games have been much better attendance but it would be a shame if they don't consider the Ralph's bid seriously moving forward.

Brock Caufield to Wisco. Younger brother mum as of now

Man I would love for the younger more talented brother to commit somewhere else to see if Wisconsin would keep this commitment.

UND will have on healthy forward scratch..............has to be Yon or Kawaguchi.

    I'd go with:

    Jones with Gersich and Adams

    Gardner, Mismash and Pogo,

    Hoff, JJ and Smith

    Simo, Bowen and Yon/Gooch

I don't know what others think but I think Yon has looked good the games he has been in. He looks quick and confident with the puck. I know this won't be a popular opinion on here since most are big Smith fans but I would put Yon with JJ and Hoff before Smith.

Wooly could jump into a top 6 and I'd have no problem with that. I like our young D-men.

Not going to happen. This same question was always brought up with Genoway in him playing forward. Some player's offensive instincts and abilities are much better served from the back-end. Just because you're an offensive minded d-man doesn't necessarily mean you would make a good forward.

yes i agree, you're absolutely right.

Hes in the NHL because, Its the Aves, and i dont believe he can be sent to AHL.

Tyson will score some points in the NHL this year but, for his long term development he was misled by Aves due to them needing something positive to play for PR.

If the offsides call hadn't been overturned, Sioux would have went to FF last year.  (UMD be damned, that team was rolling.)

Sioux go to FF, no time for Colorado to dangle an NHL game in front of him, Hes back at UND this year.

I believe the added weight room time would have made a big difference over time.

He can be sent to the AHL whenever they want as he's on an entry level two way contract. I believe it's major junior guys at a certain age that can only play NHL or get sent back to junior. This is where you see teams give a CHL kid basically a ten game tryout before sending them back to the CHL as that's the limit after that they have to play in the NHL.

He's was a volunteer in the NCAA's eyes but he got paid. For Brandt to take over the position he would need to get paid pretty good as he has a nice insurance business in Brainard. I could see it come down to Kollar, Eidsness or Lammy (this could be the job that gets him to retire from playing overseas).

I don't think a volunteer position is getting anyone to retire from their playing career. It has to be a convenience for someone like it was for Goehring who was living in GF and working in another field who had the time and desire to help out the program.

I'd be pretty surprised if Gersich played center. I'd pick Mismash there, for sure.

I've said it before but I think center is the biggest question mark on this team. Gardner is definitely playing center but he is not a guy that should be centering our top scoring line but he may have to out of necessity. I see Gardner, Hoff, Bowen, Simo, Jones as our natural centers to start the year. Not sure on Kawaguchi but it would be nice if he could play center as he could fit in on a scoring line. I think this shows that we are going to need a guy like Hoff to really step up and be a top two line center.

We had a run of guys that chose not to come here after committing from the development teams, so maybe that is a change of philosophy unless you are certain what you are getting.  We also used to get a lot of players from Shattuck, but that has changed as well.  Would be nice to see a list of players we had from the USA development program, as I think there were as many no shows as ones that played here.

This is off the top of my head so I'm sure missing some (probably a bunch):
Quinn Fylling (was the first I believe), Matt Greene, Kristo, Grimaldi, Forbort, Gersich, Ausmus, Thompson, Mattson, Cichy, Jones.

De-commits, Miller, Matteau, Koules, theres more I can't think of I'm sure.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I didn't realize but we actually have some strength up the left side next year!

But I think we are really fragile up the middle. Losing Jost really hurts up the middle. Gardner will never be the #1 center. He is a good fit centering a second line with some more power forward type wingers but isn't fit to center a top line with a guy like Gersich on his wing. Not sure who fits that top center role as of now but hopefully Hoff can be that guy. As has been said, it looks like a scoring/forward by committee/depth type squad next year with no superstars (although Gersich very well could be I just worry with no legit #1 center to play with).

He's not a forward.  He's an offensive defensive.  There's a difference :). For developmental reasons, he needs to stay back there and work on defending his own zone.  Also, just because he shows offense doesn't mean that would translate by putting him at forward.  He's a guy that likes to build a rush (from the back end) because his top speed isn't high end.  Kid should have a big year next year, if others pick up their games and give him support.  This is an opportunity for some of the boys that struggled last year to get that oppurtunity to put up points.

Totally agree with you here. He is most valuable on the back end creating offense. He obviously needs to improve on the defensive side of the puck but he is most valuable back there. Some players are just better on the back-end than at forward. Not all offensively gifted players need to be forwards. Chay Genoway and Mike Reilly are two perfect examples. Much better at creating offense from the back-end than at forward.

As fans, would you be willing to pay an extra $10-$20 total to see the games at the X?  The cost to rent the X vs TC will definitely be higher.

I would gladly pay $10-$20 more to see the games at the X and I think that is generous as to how much more they would charge. It wouldn't bother me to pay $50 more to be in St. Paul at the X and I know all of the large group that used to attend with me would agree but not sure others would. I know the arguments for Minneapolis and Target Center have to do with the restaurant/hotel options but again I would take the hockey town and atmosphere vs. the hotels/restaurant benefit of Minneapolis any day all knowing that not only will the tickets cost more but so will the hotel.

  17. Just an FYI for anyone looking for tickets. A friend of mine called UND, UMD and BU ticket offices and purchased 2 tickets from UND and already got called back from UMD in which she could have purchased more (she only wanted two so just bought the ones from UND). She is also supposed to get a call back from BU tomorrow. Tickets are out there so make some calls Sioux fans.
