Squirt A's? Are you kidding? They are four or five years away from hitting high school. Anything can happen, especially if your coach is still Wilson. If you do have a son or daughter playing in the Flyers program, good for them I hope they have a good career. However, you really should stop pumping up the Flyers and South program so much. It will make it easier on all those "awesome squirt a's" when they too come up short in high school at state to a Grand Forks team.

God I love it when I am right. If South's motto last offseason was 46 seconds, I got a suggestion for the coming offseason, how about 102 minutes? That is how far away they were this year. They are actually getting farther and farther away from their goal. Red River was clearly the better team tonight. I counted three posts by Red River. That game could have been 5-0 after the first period. Though I suppose that DaveK will think that they were all fluke goals by Red River. Apparently anytime someone scores a goal against South it is a fluke. South may have some good hockey players but there is one thing that they will never have, TRADITION. You can run as many kids as you want through the Flyers or Raiders youth programs, but the bottom line is once you get to the high school state tourney, it is all Grand Forks. It always has been that way, and it always will be that way.

With the West being as weak as it is, how did guys like Bair and Willeret not score 100 goals each?

You keep referring to Central's title as being a fluke. Well, how about the South title of 1994 being a fluke. How a Central team with two Panzers, Ness, and O'connel lost is beyond me. But that must be different huh.

Two places where you could play 100 games and never get a fair shake from the refs, West Fargo and Devils Lake. Luckily, those two programs are usually not very good so it does not matter.

I agree that they are deadwood, however, with 4 very experienced d men, solid goaltending for the most part, and enough blue chippers like Murray, Stafford, and Zajac, I still think this team could sleepwalk to a .500 record, which is basically what they have done so far.

Winning practically every year will do that to a town.

If you have Minot going to the final then 5th is the best that Central could do. You heard it here first, it will be an all Grand Forks final with RR barely edging out Central. Minot can't win a title unless they face another West team in the final, which won't happen again until Halley's comet shows up the same year that the Vikings win the SuperBowl. South won't win because they are too arrogant and full of themselves.

That would be an upgrade. Heck, I would even take Alan Hale (the skipper from Gilligan's Island). With the talent that this team has, anyone that walks upright and has a pulse should be able to be .500 with this team.

I do not know where you learned to read. Where in my posts did I say that D-men are ugly or stupid? You are jumping to conclusions that make zero sense. I believe that I said they take stupid penalties. Smart people can make stupid mistakes. However, big d-men are not a good fit for the college game. And if you are a big d-man playing college, you must realize that the refs will not cut you any slack. This is noithing new, guys like Commodore and D. Hale had to deal with it and the current crop should expect to deal with it too. If it helps, Kyle Radke has started to win me over with his play. It is obvious that he is the only D-man with legitimate offensive potential. As evidenced by your threat of physical harm, I am sorry for ruining your night with an opinion that is different than your own. Hey, in another year we will be losing perhaps our number one d man when it comes to taking stupid penalties. Smaby will only be able to do so much to pick up the slack. I think that a big d man like Dowzak whose physical play is unsuited for college hockey would be a great complement to Smaby and between the two of them they should more than be able to make up for the loss of Greene. Smaller, more mobile d men are the way to go in college hockey (Murphy, Williamson, Roche.) UND needs to start recruiting players that will make it the best COLLEGE hockey team and stop worrying about recruiting the best PRO prospects.

Regarding having no patience, paying $400+ a year for season tickets (and rising) will do that to a fellow. If you go to a restaurant and pay premium money for a steak it shold at least be ribeye. This year, we are getting a team that resembles chopped steak. And we didn't even get a bottle of A1 sauce to help choke it down.

In order to stay mentally sharp don't you have to be mentally sharp in the first place? Genoway was still crying to the ref after the game. Make more plays on the ice during the game and the refs do not come into play.
