  1. Please... he's already a legend... in his own mind. If HE doesn't send you a picture, I can... CC does that, too.
  2. tUMD plays a lot more wide open than UAA. Which, having seen UAA in several games, is not saying a whole lot, but it is true. I think I'm a little better judge of what style of game tUMD plays than you are.
  3. Why does everyone think tUMD is big? They're really not any bigger than UND. tUMD is also a lot different than UAA. I know everyone wants to think we play "clutch and grab" but it just isn't so anymore.
  4. UMD's lines: M. Connolly - Sharp - Kemp Fulton - J. Connolly - Fontaine Carroll - Akins - Gergen Greer - Bordson - Schmidt Meyers - Montgomery Palm - Huttel Oberg - Lamb Stalock - Hjelle - Reiter
  5. There is a 3rd and entirely possible outcome. BULLDOGS WIN. I'm saying 4-2 UMD. There won't be an 8spot put up at tDECC tonight unless UND can connect on a pass or two. If they had connected on half of their errant passes there would have been no OT.
  6. This is the best UND blog out there, and probably the best college hockey blog! Dirty's Diatribe I don't see that on the blogroll. You must have just missed it!
  7. She has rabies.
  8. Feelings are not facts. If your great-grandfather was in WWII (which I'm guessing he was, since wasn't everyone's great-grandfather... or grandfather, or father, or in the case of MikeJM, grandson ) then he has most likely witnessed atrocities of war you'll never be exposed to. But that's not singular to the European theater in WWII. There are veterans who have strong feelings towards Japanese people or Vietnamese people or Arab people... because they were shot at and their friends were killed by Japanese/Vietnamese/Arab people, and combat conditions people in certain ways. You could learn to hate anyone if they shot at you and killed your friends. But as long as you hate them, they still have power over you. There are gags and jokes that involve Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein, people who are responsible for genocide in our lifetime, and the outrage isn't there. If this was a video clip of Pol Pot, people would either 1. not even get it because they don't know who he is or 2. laugh (provided the jokes still made sense). Why is Hitler so much worse? Is it a game of numbers, that he killed so many more people? Is it because Hitler actually killed people who look like us, and not some people half a world away who are "different", so we can say "We would never do that"? Is it because we learn about WWII/Nazi Germany in history classes so we are forced to pay attention, while Slobodan Milo
  9. Really? It would be a crime in Germany? Because let me tell you, there is a Nazi party in Germany even today, and I have personally seen a Nazi party rally in Berlin, and no one was arrested. And Wikipedia or not, the movie is a German movie. I agree wholeheartedly.
  10. I think that might be why Bachman was picked, actually. JPL is a senior with experience in the league and experience in big games. Bachman has no experience at the D1 level and showed poise, confidence, and talent. I think especially for a goalie there is a learning curve in this league. The fans try to get under the goalie's skin, the other PLAYERS try to get under the goalie's skin, and there's more pressure to win. In my opinion, a freshman truly standing out in the league (living up to the hype rather than just being a subject of hype) is more impressive than a senior truly standing out in the league. Plus, this isn't a lifetime achievement award, so being a senior has nothing to do with it. Don't jump on me for this (aw heck, bring it on, I don't care), but I wonder if Lammy's "embellishment" tactics may have factored in a little as well.
  11. http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0708/boxes/mmtundk1.m14 Interesting that there are 7 UND penalties, and they are for tripping, interference, interference, interference, tripping, roughing, roughing. Of course, 3 of those were committed by Zach Jones, who I love. SX2, I don't think you understand the mixed messages sent by this fan base. "[Player x] is always getting interfered with! Why won't the refs call it!" is juxtaposed alongside "We're not goons, we play a physical game." I think I understand though... Sioux players can flatten whoever gets in their way, but they also are off limits. My point about TJ stands. He is not only a skilled player, he is a physical player as well. He can hold his own and dish it out. I don't think he's crying about how his opponents play. RW77, you are too elusive to stalk. I can send MafiaMan creepy text messages, but I can't do that to you. He is an easy target, too, with the light glinting off his head and his neon blue Sweden jerseys.
  12. Wow. I guess you didn't read what I wrote. I said "IT WAS SAID" not "SIOUXTIMESTWO SAID." Don't kid yourself that I'm following you around. I have other people I prefer to internet-stalk. MafiaMan, for example. I can't help it if your dumb comments are the only ones I respond to, but really, I just don't have the energy bitch at everyone. It's hard, yo. And HaksHomey, spare me. TJ dishes out plenty of hits. He can hold his own. If you can't hold your own in the WCHA, you'll never make it to the NHL. The Sioux take plenty of hooking, tripping and interference penalties of their own.
  13. I believe it was on this very board that it was said that this is hockey, and if you don't like physical contact, go do ballet. You can't have it both ways, hon. I didn't realize that in the NHL, skilled players were allowed to skate to the net unchecked. What have I been watching? I guess it's a good thing that major juniors is such a clean league, so the precious little Oshies and Duncans of the world can play without getting quadruple-teamed. I don't even know if there are penalties there. I think they have flags attached to their breezers, and if you grab a player's flag, they have to give you the puck. The rest of the world looks at the WCHA as a bunch of savages! It's like A Brave New World.
  14. Just go cheer on the Bulldogs!
  15. That's right, you were the one guy, and I commented to MEg about it. She was pissed about the Tech slighting. (3rd team I would put MLT or Zacharias). I posted this on Goon's blog: "Points alone are not the judge of a good defenceman. Well, UMD's PK is #4 and defence has been one of the bright spots for tDogs this year, and NO ONE [excepting Farce Poobah!] has mentioned ANY tUMD players. Jason Garrison is probably missing because he is injured, but he has 0.63 p/g, which is better than Bina, Chorney, Finley. Travis Gawryletz doesn't have very many points but he is as good of a defensive defenceman as you can get. Of course, you forget those guys are there until they 1. hit someone or 2. make a mistake. Look at Schultzy for the Wild. You may go a whole game without hearing his name, because he is DOING HIS JOB. Michigan Tech is another defence-oriented team and no one has nominated anyone from Tech either. The problem is that most people do not have a good enough understanding of how the game is played, so all they go on is points. A good defenceman is judged by blocked shots, hits, and positioning [amongst other things], and none of those are headline stats." I'm not just complaining because no one has UMD players on their lists. There are 10 teams in the league and there are excellent, deserving players on all 10 of them. UMDDogz, I was going to email you this thread because I knew you'd laugh, but I see you already got it. LOL.
  16. Please, people, just post what you really think: 1st Team F Oshie F Kozek F Duncan D Finley D Genoway G JPL 2nd Team F Vandevelde F Kaip F Zajac D Chorney D Bina G Walski 3rd Team F Trupp F Miller F Radke D LaPoint D Jones G Snider Rookie F Malone F Frattin F Trupp D LaPoint D Marto G Snider I mean, why do other teams even bother showing up to play?
  17. I watched it twice, in case I missed something. Not NEARLY enough tUMD.
  18. !@#$ that. I always !@#$ing drive. YOU can drive.
  19. Ah yes. Will Bozo be driving? How do you fit in your big floppy shoes?
  20. Don't press your luck. I'll be there... We just have a problem with you... and some of your dates.
  21. Siouxnami, there ARE more than 3 teams in tWCHA (4 if you include the rookie team)... What about the guys from Denver? Blake Wheeler? Berge from Minnesota State?
  22. Wow, we sure tanked it last night!!! We sucked sooooooooooooo badly. And uhhh... you had FOUR MINUTES of shorthanded time in the first period. Although tDogs out-working the Gophers throughout the game would make it APPEAR you were shorthanded for longer than that. UMD had 4 power plays. UMTC had 6, including a 5 on 3 (on two very WEAK CALLS). Face it, you were outworked, outplayed, and out of luck in last night's game.
  23. DUMBEST POST BY A SIOUX FAN: This one... it's PARISE.
  24. That was hilarious when they thought it was 3 seconds instead of .3. There were collective heart attacks throughout the arena.
