  1. I thought this year was the '80s. Damn. I consider not having the Ticketb*stard fees as a form of discount, I guess. I believe the first year you have to bite the bullet and pay the fees and then after that you'll get into the renewal process.
  2. Oh, I'm sure. Really the only reason you might have a problem is if your zero wins scenario came true plus you had a brutal playoff. I was just giving you a hard time.
  3. You didn't include the WCHA playoff postseason though.
  4. I'm going, and Diggler is going with me. Nice sig line, dork!
  5. I appreciate your attempt to lift my spirits, but really the only thing that will work is two big fat wins this weekend. Eek.
  6. Meh, you'd feel the same way I did if your team had been freaking blown out by St. Cloud.
  7. I wouldn't worry about Duluth. Blah. I'm very depressed about the team right now. tUMD threw in the towel and now I'm like praying for 3rd place.
  8. I agree UMTC has the most to lose. However, the smaller conference schedule is a huge boon for them. They will travel to 5 conference series, probably also travel to UND, and force everyone else to play them in their rink or never play them again.
  9. I would imagine that some member schools would not like it if it was in St. Paul every year. The Joe would be another option if the BTHC decided to eff over the CCHA. The Bradley Center too. Or Columbus's arena. I doubt Michigan, Sparty, tOSU and Penn State would be as willing to roll over and let MN (and to some extent UW) have the home field advantage every year. tWCHA would probably use the Xcel and in the years where the BTHC rotated into tX, the tourney would be in Denver. Adding Miami and ND to the conference would be sweet and would certainly keep the level of competition high.
  10. Oh, no, I agree. Folks like you and I consider the Final Five like a holiday. However, not everyone does, there are plenty of fans who go only if their team is in, which is okay. Imagine flying in from Anchorage to see them get bounced on thursday, compared with flying in from Anchorage and seeing three games like their fans got in 2004.
  11. Still very cool!!! Thanks for the response.
  12. While I disagree with a little of your post (o.p. was a little histrionic), I do agree that the format of the tournament totally sucks. Under the old format, three fanbases were guaranteed two games and two fanbases gambled on getting either one or three games. Now no fanbases are guaranteed more than one game, not even the top seeds. I live in the Twin Cities and always take Thursday and Friday off anyway and I go to the games even when tUMD is not there, but it would totally stink if I had to take two days off work, spend money driving/flying in, and book a hotel room for three nights only to see my team lose at 3PM on Thursday afternoon.
  13. Well, they already changed the trophy to that stupid hotel replica, and they changed the format of the tournament, so I guess nothing's safe? I have my ticket pack from last year up in my cube because tUMD is on there, and I did think it was cool, but certainly not something to rage about. However, if the original poster feels his tickets are now worthless, I'll gladly take them off his hands for $5 per set.
  14. If you don't mind, what did the note say? Just hi/best wishes/Go Sioux, or was it more personal? That's so neat!
  15. Sweet! Who knows, if tUMD and UW ended up being 2 seeds we could be there too.
  16. St. Louis would be great for Sioux fans if there happened to be an NHL game around the same time (obviously not the same day ) as you could see TJ!
  17. Oh, you truly are the best in the business at PWR. I bow to the master. I wonder, though, if at this point in the season during the seasons you listed, there were more teams with a .500 RPI and that the number shrinks as the end of the season approaches.
  18. Jim, I think you posted this earlier when the whole re-definition of TUC came out, but how many teams are usually at .500 RPI or better, come season end?
  19. Agreed. I don't think it's suspicious at all that his family and he want privacy. Some people just don't want people knowing all their business, even if there's nothing shady about it. I know that it's now the trend to overshare every single piece of information about oneself, but not everybody wants that. He could have simply wanted privacy because he was freaking out, expecting the worst, and terrified he'd never play hockey again, and he didn't want to talk about it with everyone and their grandfather.
  20. I do have four years of eligibility! It'll be like... The Natural 2. Or, more accurately, Rudy 2: Rudy's Revenge. A slasher flick.
  21. Lol. Perhaps other people might find it their cup of tea? Did he go by himself? In a van, with candy? I wonder what it's going to be like this year. It's going to be a heck of a lot more stressful! Nobody is guaranteed to see their team more than once, not even the top seeds. That's my biggest pet peeve. I enjoyed those guaranteed games and I am sure many out-of-towners did, too.
  22. There's family stuff, too. The Science Museum is right across the street from the Xcel and would be a great Saturday outing for folks not planning to catch the Wild game.
  23. I do too... is it that the BCE folks are too busy blogging?
