  1. Man, UND fans are just the worst. I sat near this UND fan at the Final Five this year. He was loud, obnoxious, vulgar, and he and his drunken friend wouldn't sit down. He kept turning around to yell at me and was spitting on me. Then he kicked me, and spilled my pop all over me! Finally the arena staff banished him and his friend to the top of the section because they were afraid the two fans were going to fall over the edge. And because their dancing was atrocious. Oh wait. That was just Diggler (aka Dirty). And I get the displeasure of sitting next to him this weekend again!
  2. We always park in small lots, the lot for Forepaugh's restaurant is a popular tailgating spot. Even if you are not going to park there, stop by! It is behind the Dairy Queen and dry cleaner's on 7th.
  3. Yelo, you shouldn't have any trouble with parking. You should probably expect to pay about $10 but you should have no trouble finding a spot that's close to the X and close to the local drinking establishments. Are you staying at a hotel in St. Paul or out farther?
  4. That must have been very painful to post.
  5. The Wild did. But it's my understanding they wouldn't give him a one-way deal. Which is smart if they're planning to have a fire sale and then just see what happens.
  6. Common Roots is really good and NOT a vegan restaurant, just has options for everyone. French Meadow is right next door. It is really close to my work so if you guys want to go there Friday I'll meet you! For drunk food, I like the Uptowner, which is not too far from the X. The Cajun Breakfast is subliiiiiiiiiiiime.
  7. FEDEROV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed you! Now Forecheck needs to come back.
  8. There could not be a more hilarious and more appropriately composed photograph to use!!!
  9. I totally understand why they only get 25 spots, but I feel for the 25 that won't make it! When I was in college I missed out on a trip to Mardi Gras because the group I was in couldn't take everyone.
  10. Ok, yay! Here's hoping it works out for you!
  11. Er... I hate to break it to you, but if you miss the Saturday game, you're missing the championship game. I do hope you meant Thursday!
  12. That is the EXACT SAME PRECEDENT that should have been applied here. Even if Faulkner had come out and been like "Yeah! It was totally in the net guys, and I just tried to fake you out!!!!" that's not conclusive evidence. Nothing I've seen demonstrates there was conclusive evidence to overturn the goal. This is a single elimination tournament. Michigan was awarded the game on that goal based on a decision made by the referees that is not in accordance with the rule book. There is no way to prove that ALL of the puck crossed the goal line. We never even see any of it cross the goal line. And it is completely obvious from the blowhard who was interviewed during the Jaden Schwartz and Joe Howe Smile Time Variety Hour that there's no excuse for what happened. He gave a lot of b.s. answers and completely skirted the analyst's attempts to get a true answer as to why the referees made the decision and what they actually saw on that replay. I don't even give a crap about either of these teams, so it's not like I have some vested interest in this. But I don't want to see anyone's tournament dreams end on a blown call by the referees that was easily correctable. Especially since it was called "no goal" originally! I can't even tell if there is a puck in that picture, let alone where it is in relation to the goal line.
  13. Just wait til MafiaMan starts busting out his jerseys. Some of them are headscratchers. Lots of people consider the Final Five as a "bucket list" item for college hockey fans, so perhaps that's what attracted the RIT and Cornell guys (who were together)? Last year two of my friends wore Oglethorpe and Hanrahan jerseys. Awesome.
  14. I sat in front of two Gopher fans that were discussing football, I think. They kept mentioning the Seahawks... I also saw an RIT jersey and a Cornell jersey. Also Stamkos and... uh... crap I forgot. MeanEgirl was not wearing a Tech jersey. Some random dude was wearing a Tech jersey, but MeanEgirl was in Anchorage gear.
  15. Hey, I figured since she was such a dedicated Sioux fan she'd be coming to the games.
  16. A lot of people actually forget the hyphen and write resigned when they mean re-signed. (Technically re-signed is not a word.) So yes, I'm with you on the misreading.
  17. Zomg for a second I thought you meant Sweeney resigned.
  18. How about "SINGLE WOMEN NAMED DEDE INQUIRE WITHIN."
  19. Russo just tweeted that Gardiner is signed.
  20. He's quit attending class. I think you are right and I would kill to have him for another year. But...
  21. Well, it wasn't unnoticed, I just ignored it.
  22. No, we'll need him to play for us in the Frozen Four.
  23. Melvin and I are on the same page here. Dagies, I'm here for you. Defending college hockey sometimes means defending our enemies. Regarding other teams: Justin Faulk is pretty much a goner. So is Jake Gardiner.
  24. Let me preface this by saying 1. I know you didn't say that so I'm not running you down and 2. I know it's not confirmed. However, I'm pretty certain that if it's not happening in Bjugstad's case, it is happening/has had happened in other players' cases. But holy crap. If his coach feels he is needed at wing instead of centre because they're thin there, or because he's struggling there, or for whatever reason it's better for the team he's on NOW rather than a team he may be on in the future, that coach has the responsibility to put that player in that position, GMs be damned. College hockey is not an NHL farm team and our coaches are not the puppets of the GMs. EVEN IF they look like hedgehogs. Gross. I defended the Gophers.
