My daughter got recruited by Warroad 7 years ago after she went to a camp up there. She did not like it up there. Worked out good though as I got to coach her all 4 years in high school here.

That's because a lot of them are forced out because of one high school team. They don't want to play a U19 schedule when they are sophomores, juniors , or seniors. I assure you if there was another high school team these older girls who don't make the current all star team would continue to play.

My bad

MM I don't think you are getting the point. Now I know 99% of folks here could give 2 craps about girls or women's hockey and I was in the same boat until I coached HS girls hockey. The thing is the sport will grow if girls from age say 7-12 know they can play for high school team regardless if they are an all star at it. It's what is happening in Bismarck now abd has been for 4-5 years. Same thing in GF. Hopefully it gets done it both cities.

Girls hockey needs more teams. It's been stuck at 11 teams for 7 years now. Bismarck adds another and you are at 12 and could have a east and west region. It's about growing the sport not the trophy case.

Bismarck draws from 5 high schools. (Century, High, Legacy, Shiloh, St Mary's)

Yes they have the numbers and yes they cut.
-
Ah the all stars from Bismarck. 5 high schools in that town and 1 team.

This. ^^^^^^^^

Hang on Dogs.

At least one of the stars.

And Dean is a minny alum and it didn't stop him. Bottom line it's time for some new blood behind the bench.

He is the guy they need to get. Had the privilege of coaching against him when he was the EGF girls coach. A great guy who is one heck of a coach.
-
Bottom line is UND won't get more top players in the world because of Idalski. It's no mystery.

Bismarck is not a big hockey town. If it was they would of had another sheet of ice or 2 years ago because they have needed it. Sounds like they are finally getting one added to the Shaumberg Arena. Still baffles me how a town with 5 high schools only has 1 girls team and 2 boys teams.

For real?

And another tonight. The fat lady is warming up.

Hell he had 2 of the best players in the world in the Lammy twins and he couldn't do it. He needs to go.

Been working great for me.

My oh my will forever be etched in my mind. RIP Scottie.

My team loved to play on the big ice. Now the last 2 years I coached Jamestown we had 11 skaters on the team. You would think the bigger ice would be a negative for our team because of our short bench. For some reason it was the opposite. Team got stronger as the games went on and managed a 5th and 4th place finish my last 2 years. The atmosphere in there is pretty amazing when it's full as it gets loud and the team fed off that.

I didn't care about girls HS hockey either until I coached it for 6 years. Now that I'm done I have an appreciation for the work they put into it. With that said I'd much rather watch the boys.

Thanks.
