Hell, a lot of folks were angry with our AD when we didn’t get outbid. They made the wrong assumptions. We have no idea what Larson did or didn’t do. NDSU certainly deserves a 4 seed. Their record speaks for itself and they are defending Champs. He may have lobbied hard for both UND and Youngstown who knows. If you are 7-4 and don’t get in then you needed to play better during the season. If we would have been left out we could look to our collapse against SDSU and Nebraska or loss to SIU. We are in. The rest is noise that is no longer relevant.

Normally. If they know that is our strategy, they might force the issue. You are probably correct.

Good comments. The only thing I would like to see is that the school accepting the player reimburse the school that the player leaves the amount of the scholarship the kid had. Kids without scholarships or smaller scholarships wouldn’t be penalized. It recognizes the investment in these athletes by their first school even though the cost to first school is more than just the scholarship. It also decreases the chance a kid transfers somewhere else where he or she won’t likely play. Grad transfers would be an exception.

That would be better than out of bounds. Still need to cover and make tackles.

George you experienced an unfortunate but not uncommon response from folks who take ownership of their fan sites, and make assumptions and post remarks. (Multiple posters lambasted our AD because they assumed he didn’t put in the appropriate bid to host a playoff game). Many are like fans everywhere whose lives are tied to successes and failures of their sports teams. It’s a fascinating study of our present day sports culture to see the initial opinions and responses to your post. We laid an egg last week but are capable of winning this game. It’s playoff time and this team reached one of its goals set at the beginning of the season. Doesn’t matter where we play or who we play. If we are going to win a championship we have to beat the best teams in the country. This should be a fun game in a great setting. Thanks for you positive post. Go Hawks!

Because they can choose to make you kick it over 5 yds back. We need to cover KO and can’t afford to miss tackles if we can’t get KO into end zone.

I wonder why now instead of after playoffs other than “ been there, done that”.

Which ones?

Food for thought: Bison Starting DLine: Oline: 6’5” 282 lbs 6’6” 303lbs 6’2” 260lbs 6’4” 329lbs 6’1” 279lbs 6’4” 286lbs 6’1” 242lbs. 6’4” 304lbs 6’6” 290lbs 6’3” 245lbs UND DLine: Oline: 6’3” 240lbs 6’4” 300lbs 6’2” 290lbs 6’2” 305lbs 6’2” 255lbs 6’3” 290lbs or 6’1” 285 6’3” 290lbs 6’5” 305lbs 6’5” 250lbs 6’6” 310lbs - 6’4” 285 6’3” 290lbs 6’4” 235lbs- 6’3” 250 6’4” 250lbs. I’m not sure size is the issue.

I can’t say for sure but I don’t believe it’s always highest bid but it could be. Someone else probably knows for sure.
-
They also are ranked ahead of us. With students home for Thanksgiving and the fact we haven’t sold out a home game all year, they may award bid to Weber even if we outbid them if bids are close. I doubt we would have been able to get 9000.

Makes sense. I would say a good rule of thumb is when you struggle, simplify things and focus on fundamentals. I had the opportunity to sit down with Wade after games when he was with the Cowboys. Very intelligent defensive mind and a great guy.
-
Maybe. I believe we also have had TE’s that could be DE or OLBs based on their athletic ability.

That NDSU team is pretty damn good when they play up to their full potential. Miller is a very good QB. He does what they ask him to do. He is a very good running QB and decent passer. Miller made himself look good more than we made him look good. Schuster didn’t have a good game but Bison secondary is very good and their defense was pressing him even when they didn’t get to him. I don’t know why we played so poorly defensively early on but we have struggled to play consistently on defense all year. We were ok offensively and had the defense been more than a speed bump, we would have been ok.

I coached BB at GFC one year under Dick Vinger and Pat Sullivan. Hall of Fame coach Dick Vinger said “ when you win say little, when you lose, say less”.
-
I would play Koshiol. He tackles well. I think he is less likely to be out of position or miss an assignment. Speed may be the factor but I’d rather have a guy who is assignment sharp and can tackle. Especially against a run team. Just a guess. I’m not at practice so who knows. Gotta do something.
-
I agree but I don’t think it would have changed the outcome unless NDSU started making mistakes. Offensively, they were clicking on all cylinders. Defensively, we didn’t have an engine started to click cylinders. That and missed scoop and run on blocked FG changes momentum but then they dropped an interception early so it goes both ways. Not sure if we get in but we need another win to better define this season. I think our guys played hard but we were overmatched. We would need to play our best game of the year to stay with them and then those breaks can be the difference.
-
Good question. When we can’t stop other team, I’m not sure I would punt from own 45 or beyond but at some point it doesn’t matter. I thought this would be decent game. I don’t think we were as diverse with play calling as we had been most of year especially early. Our KO and punt coverage was bad. Guys didn’t stay in lanes. Their RB’s were very patient and then hit seam quickly. Not sure where our “second level” defenders were on those long runs. Other than the early sack that Tommy kind of ran into our young RT did ok against a future pro. Tommy did ok even with pressure. I thought his fumble was knocked out of his hand by Hoosman when he was starting to throw and Hoosman moved across to block but I’m not sure. KO’s weren’t getting to end zone but we need to cover kicks. When officials ate the flag on the personal foul against Maag on the early drive we had been moving ball. Missed int and blocked FG both potential TD’s but frankly they outplayed us and we got dominated by their oline. Lastly, Miller had a great game. Whoever said he is “slow” may want to watch the game film. Bad day. They played well and we couldn’t stop them. Hopefully we get a playoff game and can get past this.

Classless, moronic remark.
-
It was pretty clear to the refs/reply officials and Seemed clear to me. Elbow was clearly down and ball wasn’t coming out. I guess I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. Doesn’t matter.
-
No you couldn’t. All of the negative comments about everything being the coaches fault make us look stupid. They are from the same suspects who have seem to show little insight as to what is happening on the field and those comments derail in-game discussion. Our kids got outplayed. We missed tackles and missed assignments. When you are dominated like this the responsibility is shared by players and coaches but there will be no coaching changes during the season. It’s pretty clear we are overmatched and in addition, the Bison are playing well and we aren’t.
-
It was the correct call. No fumble.
-
But you rank them on this years performance. Different than evaluating a team/program. Prior history doesn’t get you wins or cause losses this year.
-
Yeah, this is a whole different level. I’ve noticed when they drive the lane and go up with a shot, they almost always use the backboard. We seem to toss up a weak floater or bounce it off the rim. We certainly aren’t shooting with any confidence. Finally got a 3
-
I’m not sure that we have set a screen to get a guy an open look. If we can’t make free throws on our home court it often means we don’t have confident shooters.
