Don't believe everything you read. This "independent" review was paid for by the owners. Bob Sansevere had a column about it in the St. Paul Pioneer-Press today that was pretty damning of the players too. I think with so many newspapers across the country struggling that sportswriters ought to agree to have their salaries reduced. Nobody is putting a gun to the owners' heads forcing them to offer these ridiculous contracts. If things for the owners are so dire, why don't they let the players look at the books? The owners want the public to build them state-of-the-art arenas, and when they mismanage their teams into bankruptcy, they want the players to bail them out. Do anything but take responsibility for your own actions and face the consequences of your own poor decisions.

North Dakota vs. Princeton or West Point?

JFR, basil is NOT a Sioux fan, or if he is, he hides it really well by loathing everything having to do with the UND hockey program. -
Well, gee, Skippy, it just so happens that I already do sit in the upper level. Nice job of totally missing my point, by the way.

I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but in the 'good ol' days' of Sioux Hockey aka the days before the new REA, student season tickets weren't available either. And no, you didn't have to pick up tickets for each game, but you did have to wait in a huge line to gain admittance, and if the Sioux were a top team and if it was a big series, you had to get there early for a good seat or maybe for any seat at all. I understand students now pay for tickets, but all-in-all I think their lot in the hockey world is still pretty damn good. Could things be better? Undoubtedly, but I think the amount of pi$$ing and moaning going on might be a bit overdone. Fill the upper deck student sections. Use the closeness to the ceiling to your advantage: If you make noise, I guarantee you it will be heard at the ice level. Make the upper deck THE place to be.

Another reason why I hate that little troll Donnie Lucifer.

Cue Sicatoka...

tony, if you want a D-IAA forum, create it on your own on bisonville.com, and quit polluting this board with your presence.

Maybe the ref that "inadvertently" blew his whistle needs to take it out of his mouth (and have someone shove it up his...).

Really! I had no idea that so many were practicing muslims.

Why do you keep talking about some city in Saudi Arabia on this forum?

I may be a little slow, but I think I see a pattern here. cfm567b27 may have issues with REA. -
MM, you're kidding right? You've GOT to know who's pictured there!

Sica, I remember this too. It absolutely needs to be brought back, as the entire arena was in full frenzy by the time the players hit the ice and often even after the puck had been dropped. This would be the single best way to improve the atmosphere in the new building. It's simply a great fight song.

Does everything really need to be a conspiracy?

Gee tony, the Sioux wanted to play 'SU this year, it's just that 'SU wouldn't play in GF...that and UND football doesn't schedule schools that schedule NAIA schools. Sorry..... Oh, and by the way, all 'SU had to do in order to play the Sioux was to STAY IN THE NCC! (i.e. 'SU killed the rivalry.) If you must whine, PLEASE do it elsewhere.

Well, let's see... Sounds to me like you're pretty much cloaking yourself in righteousness, but as an inferior being, what the heck do I know? I'm not trying to start a pissing match here. I was just trying to point out that your message stood a good chance of being lost in the way it was delivered. FWIW, I have seen games behind the netting and I don't like it. My seats in the REA will likely not be affected, for which I am glad. If I ever change seats, I will avoid being behind netting. If my seats were affected, and REA didn't give me an option to switching to similar quality unobstructed seats, or try to find those season ticket holders that would prefer the safety of obstructed seats to arrange swaps, I would definitely be non-plussed, but I don't know that I'd pitch a fit or anything. I can certainly understand those that are displeased at now having seats obstructed by netting. When I go to NHL games I make a special effort to get seats that are not behind the netting. And yes, when I go to a baseball game, I don't get seats behind home plate because of the netting. BTW, I believe that the little girl that was killed also had a previously undectected congenital neck defect that exacerbated the incident. Under those circumstances, I think it's perfectly reasonable to consider protective netting a possible overreaction. And I respect your right to hold a differing opinion.

NOTICE: Canuck has rendered his opinion, which shall hereafter be deemed fact. Those of differing opinions are therefore wrong. Perhaps someday, some of the rest of us can become a superior beings so that our opinions may become fact too. (Lose the 'tude dude)

Congrats, Bo. Thanks for the three seasons you played at UND. I'm glad the Sens finally offered you a contract that you found acceptable. I wish you nothing but success in your professional career. I'll always remember the many highlight reel goals you scored with that wickedly quick, hard and accurate shot of yours.

I agree to a large degree with Sica's picks, with the following exceptions: I predict MTU will finish in the middle group and SCSU will not (last group). I also predict DU will finish in the last group. They lose way too much, especially James, Berkoel, and Caldwell (he must have logged more minutes than either goaltender for them last year), for a team that was not impressive in the RS. I think they're going to have a NC hangover too. And any team the Gwoz coaches will suffer mightily on any crackdown of interference/obstruction like the NCAA is claiming to do. Finally, this is an even year and they have struggled for quite some time in the even seasons.

The REA schedule shows Sioux vs. UMD football to be on DAZ, but the official release previewing the Mesa State game says it will be on both FSSN and DAZ (see link below): UND Athletics Release The satellite info page on the REA site also says both Friday and Sat. hockey games will be on satellite, so I'd assume they'd also be on cable FSSN (see link below): REA Satellite Info Anything's possible, especially since, if memory serves, there are a lot fewer football games on FSSN as compared to last year. Also, the audio web link has yet to work this season.
