  1. If there are any MAINEiacs out there reading this forum, don't take this the wrong way, but my impression of last year's title game was that each team was playing its mirror image. By that I mean each team liked to slow the game down and generally did any way possible without doing anything malicious (they would hook and hold and maybe trip but not slash or spear or high-stick). It was a brutal game to watch. Neither had much offense. I would think that the crackdown on obstruction would be in UND's favor, if for no other reason than it would tend to tire out Maine toward the end of the game. I was more than a little surprised by the seven spot that Maine hung AT Vermont, and by the scoring balance across lines, but they didn't have all that many shots (28, I think) so maybe the Vermont goalie just sieved out. And Vermont has been down for quite a few years now, but still something to think about. Should be an interesting series, but really hard to handicap. I would think a sweep by either team unlikely, but more unlikely for the good guys since it's on the road.
  2. Sparky sez WTF? I see that your posts continue to make as much sense as they ever have - none at all.
  3. Okay tony, now that you have made your repsonse, which was exactly as everyone expected it to be, go crawl back in your hole (and stay there).
  4. Ding ding ding ding ding! Give that man a CEE-gar.
  5. Alerus Description Including Capacity (from right here on li'l ol' SiouxSports.com) Not bad - only 35% off.
  6. 1. Think before you post. 2. Apology accepted.
  7. I defy you to find where someone said that UND would be a good fit for the BSC because of hockey. I sure don't remember anyone making that statement. Some may have pointed out that hockey is very revenue positive, which would help the move to DI-AA, if and when that should come about. Some may have said because of the REA (for basketball), but that is not the same as saying hockey. Therefore YOUR statement that the BSC doesn't care about hockey was a gratuitous jab at a sport you happen not to care for, probably because it has proven to be such a successful program for UND. I attempted to show you the ridiculousness of your statement by pointing out that the Big Ten doesn't care about hockey either (despite having 5 conference members with DI hockey programs, with 20 national titles between them), and suggested that since NDSU (a school without hockey) is looking for conference membership, maybe they should look at the Big Ten. Inferring of course that since NDSU is looking at the BSC, which according your singularly brilliant insight does not care about hockey, they should seek to join other conferences that care nothing about hockey as well, such as the Big Ten. I know it doesn't make sense. Neither does your jab at our hockey program. THAT IS THE POINT! Of course it loses something, EVERYTHING in fact, when I have to explain it to you.
  8. Neither does the Big Ten. Maybe 'SU should apply for membership there. Putz
  9. In a nutshell: No 2Q D, no QB, no 4Q Roland, and no luck (when are the calls going to start evening out & UND will get some to go their way?).
  10. Can you get CCTV? What is the signal quality? I get CCTV at quality 82 and FSSN at quality 55. If you can't get CCTV you be able to get FSSN. Maybe you dish needs to be peaked. If it a little off with the FSSN signal quality so low, you may not be able to lock in.
  11. Yes. Try inputting coordinates manually.
  12. Coordinates are Galaxy 3C, frequency 12001, polarity vertical, symbol rate 4880. I have it on right now. Signal strength 69, quality 55
  13. Coordinates are Galaxy 3C, frequency 12000, polarity vertical, symbol rate 4880. I have it on right now.
  14. Don't believe everything you read. This "independent" review was paid for by the owners. Bob Sansevere had a column about it in the St. Paul Pioneer-Press today that was pretty damning of the players too. I think with so many newspapers across the country struggling that sportswriters ought to agree to have their salaries reduced. Nobody is putting a gun to the owners' heads forcing them to offer these ridiculous contracts. If things for the owners are so dire, why don't they let the players look at the books? The owners want the public to build them state-of-the-art arenas, and when they mismanage their teams into bankruptcy, they want the players to bail them out. Do anything but take responsibility for your own actions and face the consequences of your own poor decisions.
  15. JFR, basil is NOT a Sioux fan, or if he is, he hides it really well by loathing everything having to do with the UND hockey program.
  16. Well, gee, Skippy, it just so happens that I already do sit in the upper level. Nice job of totally missing my point, by the way.
  17. I know I'm going to catch hell for this, but in the 'good ol' days' of Sioux Hockey aka the days before the new REA, student season tickets weren't available either. And no, you didn't have to pick up tickets for each game, but you did have to wait in a huge line to gain admittance, and if the Sioux were a top team and if it was a big series, you had to get there early for a good seat or maybe for any seat at all. I understand students now pay for tickets, but all-in-all I think their lot in the hockey world is still pretty damn good. Could things be better? Undoubtedly, but I think the amount of pi$$ing and moaning going on might be a bit overdone. Fill the upper deck student sections. Use the closeness to the ceiling to your advantage: If you make noise, I guarantee you it will be heard at the ice level. Make the upper deck THE place to be.
  18. Another reason why I hate that little troll Donnie Lucifer.
  19. tony, if you want a D-IAA forum, create it on your own on bisonville.com, and quit polluting this board with your presence.
  20. Maybe the ref that "inadvertently" blew his whistle needs to take it out of his mouth (and have someone shove it up his...).
