  1. Thanks. Was only in there briefly on a tour of Englestad many years ago. With an intelligently designed makeover what's the ultimate max for seating in there? Could a concourse with all concessions be built outside the arena footprint on one or two sides to accomodate hungry fans? Can it get to 4000 or more?
  2. I keep seeing this reference to seats in the Betty parking lot. I rarely get to GF and am wondering what this means. Could someone clarify? I assume that it means they moved end line seats further back or some such reference. What's the thought process here. Thanks.
  3. You can never have enough guards!!!
  4. Early bowl predictions have NDSU facing Toledo in the Famous Idaho Potato bowl.
  5. Kupchella and Thomas made a huge mistake with the decision not to move when the SUs did. Not sure the current situation now with NDSU moving to FBS is the same. But if Montana, MSU, SDSU and USD decide to move then we should probably go too. My 5cents worth.
  6. OMG! What a fantastic classy video! I am 79 yo, been a Sioux FB fan since I was a toddler, grew up 6 blocks from old Memorial Stadium and I have never been so excited about UND FB. I used to ride my bike to watch practices outside Hyslop. Wish I lived closer to GF to watch all this great transformation.
  7. I often wonder based on information available from various sources, Herald, Siouxsports etc. if UND still has a basketball program. So little press.
  8. So does anyone have the backstory on this one?
  9. Yeah I agree game experience is valuable. Note the LIU game is in Brookville, NY on Long Island not Brooklyn. Plan any travel out there ahead of time. It can take 1-2 hours depending on your mode of transportation.
  10. Reasonable comment, but I think the talent they face in practice is probably better than 90% of the kids on LIU and Valpo. Traveling to Long Island can be difficult.
  11. Yeah, we get a lot of press and notoriety beating a Valpo and LIU. Bring it on, I'm so excited!
  12. Damn, I bet they'll bring 3 fans too! Again, Chaves exceeded expectations.
  13. Yeah, I think a gravel road that is now 42nd street that we took over the tracks in the 50s as a kid. I think it was even before the golf course was built. Car was probably later. I think I first played RR in 68 or 69, but don't recall going that way after HS. You must have lived in the S end.
  14. Yeah, you'd think so, but things don't always fit.
  15. What a bargain! Wish I lived closer!
  16. Yes, used to get home that way from the "old" GF Chiefs ballpark when we lived near University Park. It was easier to go west and around than to try to go thru the underpass near the roundhouse to get to University Ave. Fun times. Don’t remember the car though. Different time I guess. 1950s.
  17. The guy is 61 yo. Too young to fully retire and probably not financially set enough to live the way he's used to. Throw in the boredom factor and it's not surprising he'd take a decent job somewhere in hockey with hope for something more later . The biggest issue in retirement is often not financial, it's staying busy and doing something rewarding. I wish him well.
  18. I agree!! Very nice addition and facility. As someone who learned to play golf on RR in 1968 during my Junior year at UND I cannot believe the progress! Great for UND.
  19. Maybe they could find a local HS theater group to build/create a decent looking backdrop and stage it there. This looks pretty sad.
  20. I will never ever buy anything at Scheels!! Trump front and Republican eyesore. A Bison supported, I think, abomination!
  21. Saw this, was wondering which away game they were practicing cleanup for?
  22. Thought here was that a regional D2 power would bring 500-1000 fans to GF for some game revenue. Risk is a loss hurts like Sioux Falls. But it fills in the schedule like MBB.
  23. Totally don't understand NIU moving to MWC. I'm sure there's a semi valid reason which I missed.
  24. Yes it was Idaho State and their AD was an asshat about it. Rather than play an obscure NY school maybe play a regional D2 power and get some fan interest. Risky though.
