USD scored a touchdown as time ran out to come within one. Instead of kicking the PAT to tie the game, USD coach Meierkort decided to go for the 2 point conversion to win the game. The Coyotes fumbled the ball on the attempt and lost by 1. I have to give Coach Meierkort credit for taking the gamble. Too bad it didn't pay off.

As a tax paying North Dakotan, I move that any NDUS Chancellor/Board Member be an elected official that has to answere to the citizens of North Dakota. Maybe they would then begin to actually do what the citizens of North Dakota want them to do.

Potato Bowl Game Day!

I understand that the interview with Goetz happened on friday because he was in town for Pres. Kelley's inauguration. But why did the Herald have to hang this article over Potato Bowl weekend? Could they not have waited until Sunday or Monday to run the story? Or if they really wanted to run it on a Saturday couldn't they have held the article about the interview until next Saturday?

Even as a Sioux fan I have to ask what this guy was smoking when he was doing his research for this article! Do news papers even do any research for their articles anymore?

How did we go from talking about future West/Midwest regionals to the WCHA Final Five rotating?

And both records could be broken again tomorrow night. University Park at 5-7 for French Fry Feed, the Betty by 7 for the Volleyball Game, and on to Memorial Stadium by 8:30 for the pep rally and fireworks! Show up and support the ladies.

It looks like USD will be playing at Northern Colorado in 2009. Apparently it is part of a home and home. Nice NCC meet up.

Last year the FSSN did not pick up the feed for the USD game. So unless you have MidCo you will likely not see the game. I just want MidCo to drop this stupid REELZ channel on 23 and give me back my FSSN ads and music.

Good to see President Kelley take back responsibility of the athletics department. I have a feeling he will do good things with athletcs with Faison. Kupchella was never an athletics guy, or much else as far as student affairs were concerned. He was focused souley on academics. I have to give him credit that he did a few good things as far as academics were concernd. Still, after how many years he maybe could have still done more. Welcome aboard, President Kelley!

FWIW, next weeks game is Potato Bowl. I sure hope to HE double HOCKEY sticks that next weeks game draws more. I know it's not hockey related but come on Sioux hockey fans, show up for Potato Bowl! Heck, UW-L went into Brookings and beat SDSU during their transition.

Later games are perfectly fine by me. Living in Mayville and not GF, it is some times hard to get up on an early saturday and be in early to tailgate. A 3-4-5-6 o'clock game would probably help out not only attendance but the tailgating croud. HOWEVER, I never want to see a Thursday night game again. I was at bank meetings in Fargo until 5, had to fly back to Mayville and change, grab a quick bite to eat and pick up roommate/friends to carpool to the game and it was darn neer 7 on the dot by the time we parked and got into the game. Luckily nobody had to buy tickets that night or we would have missed kickoff. A six o'clock saturday game is fine by me though.

Maybe I had a few too many drinks at the game today but why can't I find the UM/CP game on there? Can anyone provide a direct link?

Today's attendance... 9,143. I'm disappointed. If we can average 11,400+ for 18-20+ games for hockey, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to match that number for 5 football games. Second, somebody needs to remind some Sioux fans that there are 4 quarters in football, not 3 periods. It is disappointing that so many people leave after 3 quarters. As far as I'm concerned SCSU was still in the game after the end of the third. And they made sure to kep themselves in the game all through the fourth.
