  2. FightingSioux.com football home page FightingSioux.com has articles and videos up about the first week of spring practice.
  3. UND Baseball? UND FOOTBALL: Moving forward
  4. Slight correction, HBU didn't win the lawsuit. Both sides agreed to a settlement and then carried out their end of the agreement. HBU wanted a three year transition, the NCAA said seven. They agreed on four years.
  5. Sioux hone golf game indoors during the winter Here is an inside look at the new golf room that UND recently put in. The technology they have to use is actually pretty impressive. I wonder how many schools throughout the country have something like this.
  6. Considering that UND has an all-time record of 604-366-30, it is pretty myopic of you to say that UND is historically not a very good team. 1 National Championship, 1 National Runner-Up, and 23 conference titles is hardly a losing tradition. On top of that, UND holds a winning record of 62-45-3 against the Bison. So if UND is a bad team, what does that make NDSU? If you don't want to be labeled as a troll here, you might want to get a little more information on a subject before you are starting threads about it. I still fail to see how our location relative to the Big Sky means we can't be competitive. Did Northern Colorado's location keep them from being competitive in NCC football? Has Youngstown State's location in the Gateway/MVFC kept them from being a successful FCS program? This is not D2 where every conference is a bus league. The landscape of DI athletics is geographically growing conferences. As far as EWU, Bison fans can make all the excuses about that game they want. But EWU won the game and then went on to win the National Championship. There are now four (4) current members of the Big Sky that have I-AA/FCS National Championships. The Big Sky boasts six (6) National Championships and (7) Runner-ups. Of those 13 appearances in the championship game, 10 of them are by current members. Cal Poly and UC Davis have great history with their football programs and have shown a commitment to being successful at the FCS level. SUU appears to have turned their program around and has some nice wins in the last few seasons. Whether or not you realize it, UND does in fact have a history of success in football. We have the support and resources to be a successful FCS program as well. The addition of all four of these programs will only help make the Big Sky stronger top to bottom. As for as us never having a chance to be competative with programs such as Montana, we gave the Griz a decent game this fall despite having a pretty lack-luster team this season. I think most UND fans would agree that this season's team doesn't really even compare to most of our teams from the last 10-15 years that we were in D2. Do we have work to do before we are competing at the national level in FCS? Absolutely, you won't see any fans on here disputing that. But to say that UND doesn't "have any chances to compete(Montana, Montana State)" is nothing more than wishful thinking by Bison fans.
  7. This one gets my vote! Somebody going should definately make this one.
  8. Your bicycle has a windshield? Wow, must be a pretty sweet ride. But what does a railroad hat have to do with UND?
  9. I wonder if there are any players we could pick up that would help us gain some depth at certain positions.

  11. Thanks for the brilliant insight, bisonboy.
  12. May I ask why? And how will this better our institutions of higher learning?
  13. The guys did not play their best game and still only lost by 10. Shooting % was pretty low and the D was rather lackadaisical. Tighten either of those up and UND could have pulled a pretty big upset. None the less, the strides that the program made this season are increadible and the future looks very bright. Hopefully the fans will acknowledge this by showing up to the Betty next season. On a side note, in the Herald/UND game chat, an annonymous poster ask if UND would be playing at the Phog Allen Fieldhouse (Kansas) next year. Ryan Powell, the men's SID said "Might be in the works"
  14. Rider 50 UNI 84 FINAL.
  15. UND 27 AFA 40 3:36 left in 1st. Hopefully the guys can get it back into single digets before halftime.
  16. Our offense is trying to live by the 3. So far it's not working. But AF is giving us alot of open shots. If they start to fall it might become a game again. Our defense looks really sluggish. The number of games in the last 2 weeks is likely catching up to the them. The guys are pretty much just standing around on D.
  17. UND 23 AFA 30 7:25 left in 1st.
  18. So this is what a Princeton offense looks like.
  19. Rider 20 N. Iowa 47 Halftime. IF UND could pull the upset, it is most likely that we would be playing at UNI next. The CIT tries to place the teams as geographically as possible.
  20. I have heard that the Alumni Association is hoping to get a fan and alumni event put together for before the game. The information should be released in the morning.
  21. The growth that this team has achieved this year is outstanding. And the future of the program is definitely looking up. Even if it was "only" winning the Great West tournament, it is still another step in growing this program. In order for us to win this "horrible" conference we had to complete a 3 game season sweep of future Summit League member South Dakota. Getting an extra game on the year and the experience of taking on a program like Air Force will be great for both the players and coaches. No matter how the game turns out, let's enjoy this and ignore the usual trolls.
  22. Sounds like it is pretty much a done deal. '11-'12 as the exploratory year with a mixed DI-DII schedule and then 2012 into the Summit. Cutting your two most successful programs just so you can say you are a "DI" school? UNO wrestling just won their 3rd straight and 8th overall DII National Championship. Pretty disappointing to see schools take this approach.
  23. USD 72 UVU 70 FINAL. Controversial call to end the game. UVU had the ball with 5 seconds left. A USD player pushed the UVU player near the sideline but the ref called the player out of bounds. Replay showed that the player never even stepped out of bounds and that a foul should very obviously been called. I wonder where these refs are from. There have been some pretty questionable calls during the tournament.
  24. USD 42 UVU 44 15:50 left in 2nd.
  25. HBU 63 UND 65 FINAL!!!
