  1. Got back from the game about 2am. GREAT showing of sioux fans as we were very loud for most of the game. When SCSU tied the game with about 4 minutes to go the place went crazy. But the key part of the game was that the sioux scored about 10 seconds later and then built the lead to 6 and took the crowd right out of the game.l Langen played great as she forced Quigley out of the lane and made her shoot from the perimeter. You could tell after awhile that Quigley wanted nothing to do with Langen inside. I also thought Mahlum played a great floor game. Beck was a spark plug in the first half. The only down side was waiting about 45 minutes for the ticket booth to open. It got pretty congested in the entry way as all the sioux fans were pouring in trying to buy tickets. There were plenty of ex sioux players in attendence. I noticed Gully, Beherns, Bradley, Johnson, T. jones, Hoeffner, Moen, Jamie Pudentz, Boll, and Leighton. There may have been others there also. This win should excite some more fans and really pack the Betty. The only thing I worry about is where everyone is going to sit at the Betty. If they had only built that place a little bigger. I can see problems when there is a big crowd. Hect, there were problems for the Omaha game. Way to go Ladies 22-0.
  2. Nice win by the bison. I listened to the game on the way to St. Cloud to watch UND play. I could not believe when the bison built a 14 point lead in the first half. They sure came to play. The biggist stat in the game, besides the badgers shooting 18% in the first half and 22% for the game, was rebounding. Wisconson is known for their defense and their size, and they out rebound most teams they play. But to get out rebounded 46-39 shows that the bison wanted it more. Wisconson made it to the Elite Eight last year and that is part of the reason they are ranked so high this year. They lost 4 starters from last years team and was predicted to finish 7th in the big ten. However, this is not to take anything away from the bison. Wisconson is more talented and taller and stronger but the bison played harder and out hustled the badgers. I like to see local kids and teams do the dirty work and knock off some off the big boys once in awhile. It says something about North Dakota and our work ethic. Congratulations to Tim Miles and the boys.
  3. Well myself and most people can't get any of those channels. Like I said before, I had the opportunity to watch 5 or 6 aa football games on T.V. this year, the same with most people. The people that can even get some of those channels on their T.V. are still not going to stop there channel surfing to watch aa football. Not when they can watch real DI football on a more popular channel.
  4. I think most people have just the basic cable where you get espn and espn2 and FSN. You can watch a college hockey game every week on fsn and you can watch a high school hockey game on that channel during the week. So with my basic cable I will have watched about 10 high school hockey games on FSN and had the opportunity to watch 5 or 6 aa football games, what does that tell you? This weekend UND will play at UM in hockey which will also be on FSN. Someone mentioned how UND plays michigan and it's not a big deal because they are known for there football. Well, it is still exciting and it fills the place up with avid hockey fans. That is ironic because I heard Amy Ruley say how exciting it was to play the big names in women's BB such as Alabama, Georgtown and Ball St. Now tell me which one of those is known for their women's BB. Hect, I guess the Ball St. game was exciting that the bison played in, they had 400 people watching it. I did a quick poll and asked 100 people if they knew which state that aa football champs appalachain St. was located in. 99% had no clue, 1% said somewhere with mountains around. I then asked 200 people which state Denver was located in. The first 100 people I asked were from all over the country and 99% of them said colorado, and that they remember watching them against UND on ESPN. The next 100 that I asked were from ndsu. 99% percent of them had heard about Denver as they watched them on ESPN against UND in the HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP, but they didn't know what state they were loctaed in. Damn geography classes at ndsu. It's funny, nobody knows where apple st. is including myself. Seriously, what state is it in?
  5. A bison fan is actaully making sense here. Mav, your post sums it up perfectly what I have been saying. You are comparing the bison to texas state, a semi-final team in aa. If you are putting the bison in the same breath as a team that reaches the aa semi's, then you better put UND, Omaha, St. Cloud and other good regional DII teams in the same breath also. The bison's biggest win against a aa school is when you beat montana, and that is when you were DII, the same year you didn't make the DII playoffs. You can take all the score comparisons you want, but the bottom line is the bison instantly became a good aa team a year after they could not win the NCC or make the playoffs. So I will agree with you Mav, the jump between DII and aa is not as big as the jump between aa and I-A. Mav, now you have to go on the bison site and put your post over there.
  6. No, we don't want your advice. I really don't know how much better aa is than DII. I do know that both ndsu and sdsu had good records as soon as they made the jump. SDSU didn't do anything in the NCC and ndsu was not really setting the NCC on fire the last few years. Your fans and coaches cut down DII and the NCC and at the same time say how well the bison are doing in aa and how much better it is than DII (the same DII that the bison has done squat in the last 10 years). I will stick by my guns and say that aa is better than DII but not by the amount that the bison fans think. And the big difference if and when UND goes DI, is that we will not have the same arrogant attitude that the bison portray. Nor will we constantly cut down, make fun, insult, ridicule, and belittle the other NCC and DII schools like your fans and coaches do. I've heard the UNC coach and others talk about how great the NCC was and how competitve it was, but I have never heard any bison coach give any praise to the NCC and how good it was. It wasn't to long ago that the bison left that conference with their tail between their legs. It's just the same old arrogant B.S. that comes out of your fans and COACHES mouths. Hey Tony, if I was a NDSU guy, I'd probably lay off the comments about UND and other NCC schools, and how much better aa is, because if we all decide to go DI it might come back to bite you, and you guys might be right back where you were before you left the NCC. And I don't think any bison fan wants that humility again.
  7. I don't know where that other post from team sioux went. And I don't know what games that team sioux saw kimbrough play in high school. I saw quite a few over the years and she was always using the glass. She was automatic from 15 feet in. Some of the teams didn't have the size to match up against her in high school, but coaches that played against her used a chaser on her and zone defenses that smothered her where ever she went on the floor. Her coach in high school has coached a long time and KNOWS what he is doing. They used screens for her in high school, but often in wouldn't work because defenses would just pass kimbrough off to another defensive player in the zone. She will be fun to watch with the rest of the girls this year.
  8. I will echo the thoughts of the UND womens team. They are unselfish and play so well togather. The bench players could have a whole team of there own and do quite will against many teams. To simply blow out UMC is pretty impressive. I think UMC gave the bison women a tough time not to long ago, and we just crushed them early and often. I can't wait until Tuesday's game to listen to, and then the game at home saturday should be great. Let's get the Betty rocking for this exciting women's team.
  9. Looks like the win by Omaha really improved their chances. I see they are ranked #2 behind Grand Valley in this weeks regional poll. UND is #3. How does Omaha jump ahead of us with two losses. I heard this morning on Tim and Sywg someome say that UND had enough points built up that they should remain #1 in this weeks poll. Well, I never did understand these things.
  10. bigmrg74 is getting almost as much press as K-DOG.

    UND vs. SCSU

Great crowd and atmosphere for the game yesterday. They announced just over 12,000 for the game. There is no way that 1,500 more people could have fit in the AL. Not even 500 more. I heard the announcer say it was a sell out, and I also talked to someone who could not get a ticket right when the game was starting because they were sold out. With about 500 people standing above both endzones the place looked more than sold out.
  12. This really explains why amy doesn't want to play UND this year. I think she knows what would happen. What's going on with the almighty DI bison. Girls are leaving the BB program, boys are leaving the wrestling program for lowly mankato. I do like the timing of this whole buckwheat thing. Poor old buckwheat is losing kids to a lower division school. I can't believe it. My oh My. Looks like DII is stealing away all the thunder from DI.
  13. Lennon said this morning that scsu offensive line averages around 320. That is huge. But I think they will have trouble will our LB's when we blitz. I guess we will see how quick those lineman are. I also believe mussman is doing a real good job of calling plays and keeping the defense off balance. It's hard to predict what we are going to call each play. In years past you could predict what play we were going to run quite often. SCSU passing game scares me because it's tough to get pressure on the QB. They do alot of three step drops and threw the ball quick. They are ALOT like we are in all aspects.
  14. Bohl is a great coach. Just ask him. Actually, ask him what happened down in Nebraska when he was a coach. Sounds like that coaching staff had alot of fun. And you know what I mean. The bison are better this year, hell, they might even make a run at the NCC title this year. Of course they would have to beat UND. All I need to say is 4th and 1. Game over. That was bohl making that call, correct. And he was grinning from ear to ear when he called it.
  15. I heard something very amusing yesterday when I was tailgaiting. A person told me that during warm-ups of the winona game that the winona players were taunting digger anderson. They were saying digger-digger-digger. Now how stupid is that. You fire up a guy who already plays half nuts out there. I dare say they picked on the wrong player. I just laughed when I heard this. I can't believe they are that stupid.
  16. I find it funny that a bison fan would come on here and tell us to stop talking smack about bohl. Bison fans live for that AA overated arrogant smack. They can call UND's A.D. and president names all the times (and not very nice names) and show pictures of them on their board, and we say coach bohl is bald and someone has the courage to even go there with that subject. I see that bohl still has that fake grin which he must rehearse with phil before the show. I wonder if he really grins like that when the camera is OFF. I like both shows, the difference is Lennon is so genuine and says it how it is, where bohl tries to use big words to try to impress everyone. As a fan I like the lennon show better because of all the highlights they show.
  17. 35,000 wouldn't be to bad. I remember the bison announcing the crowd at about 18,000 at there old outside stadium when it only held around 10,000. The ag school just has to find the same guy who counted the attendence back in the old days and they could probably get close to 80,000.
  18. I like how bison fans always come back with statements that have nothing to do with the topic. They could be getting the crap beat out of them year in and year out (and they have), and they will say there mall is better or they have more eating places. Our little town of G.F. does pretty well and our university, and sports do very well. Our hockey team plays about 18 home games a year, with an attendance of around 10,000. Our football team averages over 9,000 a game and we have had many post season games at home to really bring in the good crowds. And our Basketball averaged around 2,500 for the year. You add up all these numbers and there were alot of people who attended UND sporting events last year. Not only do we have good attendance for our little town, but we have fans that are very passionate about the game. Just ask tony stauss how loud it gets in the alerus, and other QB's as well. I would dare say UND had about twice as many fans attend there home games then the bison did this past year. Hect, we had more people at some of our away hockey games than the bison had at some of there home B.B. games. Now what's the biggest sport in N.D.? The one that is really D-1. The joke of the day. How do all the people fight the traffic in fargo to watch a playoff F.B. game at the fab dome? Oh ya, they don't.
  19. I can't forget to mention the game in 1994 against the bison at the FAB fargodome. Nobody thought UND could win, then Wagner went down and UND's hopes were slim. Enter freshman QB Kevin klancher who came in and performed like a veteran and we blow them away. The build-up and hype for the new Fargodome was so high and UND went in and took care of business and sent bison fans home in the 3rd quarter. The FAB dome is still reeling from that game. And the year before wasn't to bad either, when we beat the bison at home, and the goal post got paraded down university Ave. There have been alot of good memories the last decade.
  20. Although there has been many during the years, one of my favorite was when Jimmy K. split the bison secondary on the slant route and out ran them for a T.D. My other one would be the goal-line stand against UC-Davis I believe, the noise was unbelievable. It's time to start talking FB and getting excited. I don't think there has been this much excitement for UND football for a long time. Tailgaiting is up, attendence is up, and were winning. Can't wait for the season to start.
  21. I'm not talking about who played who in the last 20 years. I'm talking about a team that can hang 80 on there neighbor. That's why the coach was pissed off, because there was something that could have been done to prevent scoring 80 points.
  22. I remember when the bison rubbed it in on the poor dragons. I knew someone who coached for moorhead at the time and they were just pissed how the bison poured it on. It sounded like they didn't call off the dogs until late. Sorry to bring this up, I guess I'm just being proactive or something.
  23. And if you bison fans get bored at playoff time in F.B. you can visit the alerus to watch some PLAYOFF F.B. Home playoff game indoors, now that's something new to a bison fan.
  24. How about a six pack of old mill?
