  1. Lennon was on the tim and swyg. show this morning talking about practices. He did praise dressler quite a bit today. He also said he has received many calls from former players asking if there was going to be tailgaiting on saturday. Lennon was hoping there would be a great crowd of tailgaiters and hoping for a nice day. Should be a fun event. I hope the sioux faithful show up early and enjoy the day. I wonder if everybody remembers where there old spots at memorial are?
  2. Good win UND women. Tomorrow's game should be great also. B-G-M-R lost to Fosston tonight, but game them a great game and led the whole first half before running out of gas. Fosston is the better TEAM and much more balanced. They interviewed Kimbrough after the tough loss and she was very classy. She mentioned twice about how much fun the next few years will be playing at UND with Langon and Bagaason. She was actually gigglely when she was talking. You can tell she is fired up for UND. To bad gophers, your loss our gain. It helps to know who the best BB player in the state is and recruit her. My God, Minnesota is her state. You guys didn't know mertens, player of the year in FB and you didn't recruit kimbrough who could be Miss basketball. This is just crazy when you think about it.
  3. According to an article in the thief river falls paper, b-g-m-r coach said Bruggeman will return monday(today) for practice. That will be a HUGE lift if she is able to play. They could still rest her a couple of games as they should win the first two games easily. Then it's probably S-A, then Fosston or R.L.F.
  4. The other two guards for B-G-M-R are still out. They both have mono. Sounds like they will be back for tourney time. Kimbrough had tough time against RLF's. I thought that would be a tough game because of RLF's defense and no guard play from B-G-M-R. When the guards get healthy they will be very tough. I know kimbrough is tough inside, but I heard that she is Badger's best 3 point shooter. That's scary. It will be fun at tourney time. Fosston wil have it's hands full with RLF's. Badger is in the west section which they should cruise thru, if healthy.
  5. The walk over (or sprint) after a BB game. Then to walk in and smell the hotdogs. Look across the ice and see all the drunk college kids(the farce), animals on the ice, a fake turkey on a sick dangling in front of the opponets goalie, the brawls in the penalty box, Norte Dame taking forever to get on the ice for faceoffs, all the booze bottles on the floor after the game, and of course trying to get a stick from the players after the game. What great memories.
  6. I believe she is out for the year with an injury. With guinn out also this leaves them very thin. I watched kimbrough get 47 the other night. She was VERY, VERY, IMPRESSIVE. Maybe she can opt out of high school now and join the sioux team. J/K. She could however make an immediate impact on the UND team. If you get a chance you should go see her play. She is automatic from 15 feet in, and that is with 3 girls hanging on her. I can't wait to see her when teams play straight man against her. Kimbrough-Langan combo will be unstoppable in next few years as Kimbrough is a great passer also. Her team B-G-M-R is undefeated now and it looks like the match-up down the road will be Fosston (bagaason) versus B-G-M-R with the winner going to state. I believe Kimbrough was 22-27 from the field that night. That was with a defense that had 2-3 girls on her where ever she went.
  7. And your NAIA schedule fits good with DI also. Way to go amy, just schedule all the crap teams and build your winning percentage. It's funny, I heard Jack Michaels say the other day that amy isn't afraid of playing the good teams and that they have a good schedule. Well people, look up the bison womens basketball schedule once, it's a joke. The bison women will win a ton of games this year and everybody will say, "look how smart this move was now". Just look at who they are playing.
  8. Sounds crazy, but it could be us or the bison.
  9. I mentioned playoff attendance being reported at 18,000. I really meant to say regular season games being reported at 18,000. What a joke. In fact, looking at the bison program from Sept. 1, 1990 a game played against Indiana, PA there was something interesting I came across. It says in that prorgam that on Oct. 14, 1989 a game against Northern Colorado, the bison set a record for attendence at 19,000. I guess I was off 1,000. So playoff or no playoff the bison lied for years about the attendence to the ncaa to make things look really swell. I can't believe that the ncaa bought all of this. The funny thing is when there had to be a public apology made in the paper about lying about attendence. Were talking about increasing the numbers 7,000-8,000 or more. Hect it probably helped with recruiting and everything else when people heard you were getting 18,000 for a game. Perhaps one of the biggest scams ever in DII. All the records for attendance for bison games are all even numbers also, 18,000, 18,500, 19,000. You think they could have made it look better by saying like, 19,241 or something.
  10. I remember some of those bison playoff games. I remember the REPORTED attendance being like 18,000 when the place only held 10,000. Go figure. You had the ag. dept. doing the math. Well at least with all those inaccurate numbers they were able to justify building a dome that holds 18,000. Well it's nice to see now that there DI they can get it almost 2/3 filled for a game. And never once did they host a lowly DII playoff game in there. But did you know they beat montana-TECH.
  11. Off the beatin path, can we get the time fixed on this site.
  12. The real deal. After watching her play a few times, she is solid. To average 30 points a game with teams double and triple teaming her is unbelievable. After one more year of teams using special defenses to contain her, it will be nice to see what she can do with a straight man defense. It's scary that she is taller, stronger, and quicker than last year. I encourage fans to come and check her out this year. They should have plenty of games that are close by. UND gets Kimbrough and Ledger, two players that some D-1 school down south (68 miles) were interested in. Who knows they probably wanted Bagaason also and struck out.
  13. I agree, she was and is the key for us. She will be the go to player. She needs to get around 20 every night for us. But she only had 1 or 2 good looks yesterday. She didn't get in any rhythm offensively mainly due to a tough pressure defense. It's too bad she couldn't had more points. I'm sure the game meant alot to her. Other games now will seem a little slower for the team which will help their composer on offense. We were scrambling on offense at times due to the constant pressure. UM has some very quick players. You caught the ball and they were right in your face. If you made a move to the basket there was another player right there to help out. Like I said before, this was a good game for us.
  14. We actually battled them pretty tough for the most part. The score got out of hand the last the last couple of minutes. It should have been a 7 point game at half but it was 9, due to the scorekeeper. The gophers had 1.9 seconds to get the last shot off and was taking the ball out of bounds under their basket. They passed it to roysland on top of the key and she took 4 dribbles and shot the ball and it went in. The play had to take at least 4 seconds. No big deal, just very laughable. UND stayed within 8-10 until about 14 minutes to go then they pulled away. It's just a great game for experience and playing against a great TEAM defense like the gophers. There was constant ball pressure and girls fronting our post players, so it was very tough to get the ball down low. UND will not see this same intensity all year and it's just a great learning experience for them. I was impressed with guinn who seemed pretty comfortable out there. We outrebounded them and force some of their 21 turnovers with good solid defense. I thought we did just fine considering our youth and playing without mahlum. We start 2 freshman against a top D-1 team, and both of them looked quite confident. The big glaring difference is the quickness and team defense by the gophers. Not much came easy for UND's offense. It was a good game to watch, with a decent crowd (6,000+). UND can take and learn alot from a game like this (NERVES).
  15. With this being the last home game of the year what do you think the attendence will be? It's usually a bad draw because of deer hunting which takes a couple of thousand fans away. I will guess around 7,500-8,000. Which would be good. This game is HUGE.
  16. snaggles

    Bowencamp

Definitely a team player. It just shows great class on John's part. That is the type of people we recruit. It's no accident we have great kids playing for UND.
  17. Other interesting games were Delta beating Harding 48-14. It's good to see Delta get to .500 after a couple of tough losses. They should at split there remaining two games as they play 2-5 Ouachita Baptist and 6-3 Arkansas-Monticello. Central Wash. beat Humbolt St. 13-3 to make them 5-4. There remaining games are against 5-3 Western Wash. and 1-6 Western Org. After Ferris loss to Tech they are 6-3 with games left against 8-1 Northwood and 6-2 Saginaw. I doubt they can win both and bring their percentage to .700. And Mesa, well they got beat by Fort Hayes 17-9, and are now 0-9, what a joke. Delta and C.W. should both finish .500 so that is good news I guess. But, it all comes down to Omaha. That's scary. Anyone think we have a chance to make playoffs if we lose to Omaha? I don't because I can't see them taking 3 from the NCC. We would however, get decent points even losing to Omaha on the road and beating S.D. at home. Do they strictly go by points for the top six in region or would other things come into play, like not letting 3 from the NCC in.
  18. Looks like Kimbrough is making her official visit to UND today. She was out having lunch with her parents and coach roebuck today. I wonder if she will attend the hockey game tonight. That would be quite a recruiting tool. It's good to see her last official visit is UND, leaves a fresh impression in someone's mind. I'm sure she will decide pretty soon, as high school basketball starts in about two weeks. Also, Lindsey Whalin is in town and was at sioux boosters today.
  19. Last year the bison averaged roughly 2,000 more fans a game than UND. We all know there are many sioux fans that live in the F-M area, but I don't think there are 50,000 sioux fans there. The F-M area is 3 times bigger than G.F. with many towns close by. And I don't think moorhead and the cobbers take away to much fan base on a saturday game. The bottom line is if you went by percentage of people in the town to the number of people in the stands, UND does a whole lot better, not even close.
  20. Thanks for the info. Should be a great game.
  21. I'll be going to the game saturday and was wondering where the sioux fans will be prior to the game. With the new stadium, how is parking, tailgaiting, etc. Any info would be great. We should have a good crowd. I got a couple tickets last night, but they were tough to come by.
  22. Interesting score as pittsburg st. beats missouri-rolla 91-27 on the road. The score was only 7-0 after one quarter. Missouri has lost 57 consecutive conference games. Pitt. st. is averaging 67 points per game as they are beating up on patsies.
  23. It was interesting to learn that the gophers didn't even look at her last year. I guess they wrote her a letter and apologized and invited her down there this summer to play in some league. UND has been constantly watching her, long before UM, they have a leg up on UM but I don't know if that will be enough to get her. The word is she has gotton alot stronger and faster then last year, and is a very classy person. Just wonder if she would like to play with roysland or play with bagaason and langen, or does it matter. Also heard that NDSU has given up on her but UND still has a chance. It would be a steal.
  24. Mertens is getting looks all over. Wisconson is interested, and Duluth is big on him. I think he will go to UND if he goes DII. But my personal opinion he is a little better then DII. He's been compared to Bollinger, good arm, and great sense of the game. Rambeck, well if this was fantasy football would to a SLEEPER pick. Very impressed with him as a receiver. Both are also very good in basketball which were Rambeck's future might be in.
