r77, either that was a bad joke and you missed the wink button or you've never been to a game at home in the last three years ss, clean it up. you're drool i mean. anyway, for the rest of you 'soul' seekers, katie's taken. and that #25 is a big guy so watch yourself
-
thanks mafia and ss, although i see you're point, the analogies and reasoning behind your position are flawed. 1. bigger, faster.... my point exactly, why have a bunch of stick weilding lumberjacks out there. make everyone a bit more accountable 2. I do fullheartedly agree with the olympic size arena mandate, but with the baseball analogy comes a problem. Yes there are hitters parks and 'some' players are oversized for the game, but the big ball has done a lot for viewership. Bigger parks then and smaller now. Yeah, right. I suppose you could make up a lot of arguments that 'things were better in the old days'. That argument is tired. Sports have evolved for a lot of reasons. Start by giving good solutions, not by pointing out insignificant problems. 3. I guarantee that pee wee's all the way up aren't taught to single out players for malicious action like the NHL's "Get him" tactics. They're a business and will do whatever it takes. Vancouver getting fined and the instigation rule are good examples of how to combat that idiocy. 4. My point with the 'invincible' nature of players now. I say let those big goons take off the armor protecting their hands, forearms, and sides and see how many rub, slash, and hook. 5. Football and other sports with body protection, hold no water in this argument, period. They aren't played with the same speed or volatility of hockey. 6. how many eye injuries are there really? a couple of them this year but going back to Suter's can you remember any as publicized as Yzerman's? By the way, a eye injury is the only thing that half sheilds are going to address. The rest of the injuries you mentioned all still happen and at the same frequency Lastly, I've always agreed with Sykes. And to add, as long as sticks come up, eye injuries will still happen. Half sheild or not. There's no way that they should be mandatory! Players should choose.

If anything the NHL should take away some of the invincability of the players by reducing equipment or regulating it more. Players take their safety for granted. This is because the technology improvements in equipment have allowed people to run and gun unabashedly. This directly effects the tempo of the game. If people want more scoring and faster tempo games. Reduce the invincability of the players. The officiating should also have more of an impact on player injury.

oh, come on. I've played with a concussion just like the rest of them. I saw that dazzling hit and Kapanen's skulking crawl back into box. "rub a little dirt on it and get back in the game" flyers/flames in 04'

My Webpage ...also, if you'd like to get a synopsis from CSTV on most of the ex-college playoff players, go to the above. It's similar in content.

I'd say the Blackhawks have been in the 'wannabe' chair for an awful long time, and no offense goon but so have the bruins. Save your wannabe statement for the Winnepeg Coyotes and the like.

go flames, go flyers! Worn down? Whatever. Actually I'd put the Saturday games favor towards philly coming off a three day rest after a great series rather than tampa sitting on their hands for eight days after a blow out easy four. Tampa's only hope is Obie Wan Sharks beat a better team that didn't show up to play. Flames beat a better team that couldn't focus. I wonder which will be better in the long run. Although I would say the flames have had a harder schedule so far go commodore! What's great is that the money teams are all out and hopefully this will sink in to some of the gm/coach/owner mentality Buying teams really doesn't work right now and won't for the next five years or so.

Hey, I'm a preservationist too, but nostalgic? By the way, if you haven't been in the REA, how would you know the difference? You should come to the REA though it at the very least is an experience. You get to choose the type. You will learn the history that is associated with the team, not the building. I believe you're looking for history, not proximity. Concerning the teams you mentioned, all ot them have had more than one facility if you consider how they arrived. (except maybe the Jets)

While I'm at it. The rest of you should stop belly aching about the price of the arena, it's inherent costs, and the "entertainment aspect" that has started to revolve around Sioux Hockey. Like I said. "Go to a hockey game, shut up/cheer and watch it." It's not like the loud music, promotions, marble floors, $5 beer/hot dogs, $3 tour costs, INFLATION, or anything else changes the fact that 20+ guys/gals show up everynight to play their hearts out so you can have something to feel proud of and cheer for. It also really has nothing to do with you getting what you want out of seeing them play. You make your choices. Nothing has been soured, rather the opposite. The people here, worried so much about the commercial aspect of the game are probably going to the Clay Aiken concert and eating at Applebees before the show.

I don't know bout y'all, but I hope the team all out guns for the 8-10 early season non-conference wins. We all know now how that can help a teams chances of not only getting in at the end, but winning? the whole shootin match besides.
-
speaking of opinion; 1. When it serves their purpose, you've been herein defined by that. 2. Absolutely, wouldn't have it any other way
-
while rumors may or may not be true, I do know that the concert wasn't selling out and the DECC was, therefore, Daloot can have'm good riddance anyway. while i think the eagles were great, the true meaning of their "Farewell Tour" got thrown out with the rest of yesterday's news and Cher's last pair of skivies while some 'think' the REA is blood letting, remember who was coming to play this concert

hey, good luck with that whole thing man.

Good gawd! The old arguement 'ours are there, yours are here Sioux/Gopher discussion' is a complete farse. Minneapolis proper has about as many citizens as the state of ND. Realize that Minnesota and Massachusetts put about two-thirds of the college ranks on skates. No kidding. Per capita, North Dakota has done pretty well for itself putting out recruits and keeping them. I hope that always continues. It's fun to see people you know do well in a sport that you love. I have some good ones about Panzer and Blake. So someone do the math and tell me I'm wrong when I say ND is fairly comparable to a lot of the big hockey states if you figure that ND still has only about a dozen or so teams, historically has had only about a half-dozen, less population, and teams have farther to travel, blah, blah, blah... I think we do pretty well, hell the ice rinks get pressure ridges in our state. This actually touches on the issue of when the WCHA broke up cuz the four M's didn't like that ND, UD, and CC didn't have any players and asked Canadiens to play. Minnesota is the state of hockey, period. Be proud of that. But, the Sioux rule!

did i say that out loud? oh, no SPG said it. good call, couldn't agree more
-
Mystique? possibly. I don't know in Ricci's case. Nothin is left to the imagination there. Oh, and there comes Canisius', Jon Durno into the equation again. Plus, he's starting to look like CC in Fletch, and other than the basketball that's clearly a hilarious hair moment in sports. I agree though, let the guy stand on his head to get the helmet on. What MC should do is grow a big ol' handlebar mustache, then he'd be a true Calgary Flame. Maybe his hero is Lanny McDonald?

Check this. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/Art...TPSports/Hockey That's our boy. You go red!

troll, 1. you've verified your question, 2. you've proven your not a sioux fan 3. hell, i'd question if your a hockey fan (that's cuz you're probably from San Jose, where the barn is empty and the sugar daddy can only last so long). The run the sharks are making this year will do little more than try and start what the "Great West" conference tried to do in 86. 4. if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it may very well be Howard the Duck 5. strap on your in-lines and gopher a spin Sarcasm is great, thanks for playing this thread is done. go away

you all are right on the Forsberg penalty and then the no call later, those were both a bunch of crap. it does seem that he's having a lit'l karma come back I'm no pumpkinbeater, but the scoreboard shows two for everytime the ball goes in off the backboard. watch sportscenter today, to say that the goal was a fluke is far, far, from the truth.

The son of UAH head coach Doug Ross, Jared Ross continues his stellar UAH career as he begins his third tour of duty with the Chargers. Last season, he led the team in scoring with 21 goals and 20 assists, including a hat trick against Niagara late in the season Ranking fourth in the CHA in point scoring and third in goal scoring, Ross' outstanding on-ice performance earned him a first-team selection on the All-CHA squad, as well as CHA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week of January 20. As a rookie, Ross earned CHA Rookie of the Week honors three times during freshman campaign enroute to a selection on the CHA All-Rookie team after an 11-goal 17-assist season. Ross prepped at Detroit Catholic Central leading them to back-to-back state titles in Michigan's highest classification as well as an undefeated record during his senior season. Voted "Mr. Hockey" as the top player in the state following his prep career, Ross set a school record by netting 30 goals and 37 assists at DCC. A member of Michigan's "Dream Team" All-State squad, Ross also played for Team Michigan in the Chicago Showcase National Tournament where the prepster was named the top forward following the team's second place finish. Born September 18, 1982, he is the son of Doug and Barbara Ross. This is who you meant right, PCM? Southern boyz dun well.

probably similar to the 90's at memorial stadium when the bison were 'awful'

hey jerseychaser, why don't you give INCH a call. They could use some wit like yours for their 'found on a cocktail napkin' series. This is provided you can put up the numbers with other programs in mind. i for one would love to see what you had to say on a top ten list for the other WCHA teams off-seaso doldrums nice post
