  1. They took the eventual National Champs to overtime.
  2. Strinden will be solid. Swanson, Littler and Croal I think all will be impact players.
  3. Won't need to score much with our back end...
  4. So Menghini, Rickwood, Gordon, Kernan, Homer and Spunar didn't do it for you?
  5. I don't think a lot of you understand how many different factors come into play when landing these guys honestly.
  6. Yes, we are after all of these guys, but so is everyone else.
  7. DuPont is going wherever he feels like can prepare him for the next level. Won't need an open check book for him.
  8. The risk/reward for him playing in the NCHC versus playing in the B1G. He'll put up solid numbers in the B1G next year. Similar style of play to Major Junior. NCHC is a meat grinder every weekend.
  9. We very much had interest in McKenna, especially with him being a Western Canadian. Problem is who his advisors are.
  10. McKenna is generational talent. Will be at whatever college he chooses for one year. Maybe we are looking at guys that are the after thoughts. The guys who will buy into the program and be here for 3-4 years. That's the model that seems to win in early April.
  11. Define "decent", if "decent" is McKenna then the guys we are talking with don't come close to that.
  12. Exactly. Who knows what type of numbers McKenna puts up in the NCHC.
  13. Lots of things happened with him. Still undecided is what my source told me over the weekend.
  14. We aren't getting a "decent" CHL guy...
  15. I would like to think the NCHC is the best conference to get guys ready for the NHL, I think the B1G and Hockey East are similar to Major Junior. So, if a kid really wants to challenge himself and get out of his comfort zone, he'd choose the NCHC.
  16. Yeah. I'm agreeing with you that they will ultimately play NCAA. I think all of these guys want to experience the college life for a year or two.
  17. Yeah now they can do both...
  18. I think you will see more American born players go the Major Junior route. Already saw it with a local kid.
  19. 100% is. Still a business through and you want to keep that top end talent for as long as you can.
  20. Was supposedly coming to UND, then the injury happened then we fired our coach. His girlfriend goes to University of Manitoba, and he wanted to get closer to home. Unsure what his plan is. If he does choose the college route I was told it was UND. He may stay in the dub though. I was told he isn't academically eligible also. Lots of the GM/Owners of these major junior teams don't want their superstars to leave unless it's for the NHL. Medicine Hat scheduled pre-season games next year in Whitehorse (McKenna's hometown)
