  1. I just don't know how you avoid young men from getting in trouble and that can include arrests. I was in my 40's when I got arrested for a DUI (got a Miracle and got out of it) but this type of thing happens all over and I don't think a coach can be the Guardian Angel to all his players.
  2. Your last points are already being presented and discussed at the Fire RUDY post. I think most agree with that, though I've frequently said that Rudy is doing what Bubba wants and you have to look to him as you look at Rudy. If that's all you seek we are in agreement. I don't know how old you are or if you have some terminal condition, but I hope, for your sake and the team's, you get to see a playoff game.
  3. You've made up your mind and no one will change it and that's fine-you're free to believe and feel what you want. You said you don't want regime change but it seems you really do. Again, that's fine to have that opinion. Please stop telling the rest of us we're nuts for NOT wanting regime change. You say the injury situation has revealed other deficiencies in the program. and my response is the same: We are playing guys who were NOT expected to play this year. We are at times playing guys out of position (Nevermann is still playing LB). You'll say the recruiting sucks because we didn't have ready backups. I just don't see how a coach can plan to have so many guys in such keys spots. Again, IF next year, with guys healthy, ends like this year, you will have MANY on this board joining you for a regime change.
  4. No one is ignorant of the injuries which is the reason for the disaster of a season. You're displeased with this season. SO ARE THE REST OF US!! You're standards are not higher just because we have acknowledged that 9 injuries to starters on D sucks but also has an impact on the team Defense. To say otherwise, doesn't mean a person has higher standards; it just means the person isn't credibly assessing the situation. I bet EVERYONE on here would be absolutely livid if Harris, Reyes, Rodgers and others were playing every game and the team was still giving up 40 points a game. This is NOT pure banter. This is reality.
  5. You don't believe the hype of being voted a top 5 DB in the division?
  6. But Harris has improved and Blubaugh would be in a redshirt if Harris wasn't hurt.

    Hawks - Eagles

    I'll be there-215 AA
  8. I've never been the rose colored glasses guy, but my expectations for this team are clear: I expect that in his time here, Blubaugh (Using him because he's been a big part of the conversation) will be on a National Championship team. This season DOES NOT change my expectations.
  9. I've lived in ND all of my 54 years, but if I had a taste of Florida, I don't think I'd want to go to ND
  10. I don't disagree. We are getting pushed off the line, but IF we had the bigger, better, stronger LB's, those deficiencies would be mitigated.
  11. No doubt. Going back to injuries, the LB's being hurt are the worst in this D. No run stoppage from the LB's affects the whole D.
  12. True, but I felt even then, that he had potential. Please do NOT show the Bison game. It was awful and he was chasing WR's a lot.
  13. Me too, and I know UND-FB-FAN said he understands the injuries, but doesn't want us to make excuses. If this team had Reyes, Harris and the others playing MOST of the year and were giving up 40 ppg I'd be all over it. We aren't talking about regime changes without the injuries as I believe that without the injuries this team would have been a LOT better. I hope!
  14. Frost is a TOP candidate for U of Florida.

    Defense 2017

Really skinny but he just seems to be too upright (I know his height enhances that perception) but he plays so high that it's easy for a OL to get his helmet into his chest. Yes, a 6'5" guy at 240 is harder to block, but if he doesn't fill out, use his speed on the edge. In my view.

    Defense 2017

I would put Rodgers on the OLB and let him rush the passer and he can cover too. Haas is weak v the run so I'm hoping at the end he rushes the QB better next year. But they are interchangeable. You're right Murray is a Sr. I forgot Bungum too.

    Defense 2017

I hope our opinion will change by this time next year. I'm looking at the following as starters (Pure speculation) Cieslak, Tank and Ott on the line Rodgers, Larson, Cam Hunt and Palmborg as LB's Harris, Turner (Safety-you saw the speed on KR yesterday) Canady and Holm/Hunt Morrison for Tank on the Nose. Bennett, Haas, Sequin, Honerlaw and Greer in reserve Rastas, Geier (though I really don't know what he does well) and Murray in reserve. Could move Turner to LB too. Blubaugh, Shannon and Stewart in reserve Didn't even mention Steiger, Richman, Carter Wilson and Nevermann In light of the injuries, a Juco at LB with size wouldn't hurt nor would a Frosh or two. Better?
  18. I won't be sad if Rudy goes, but yesterday illustrated the times the play calling wasn't bad and the QB just didn't have it. There was a play early in the 3rd, Brady is wide open on a wheel route and Studs just misses him. Would have been 20 yards at least. On his 2 INT's he had guys open but went for the wrong receiver. Even the calls at the goal line had me wondering IF the second one was really a sneak as Studs went to his left leaving JJ in the position of having to push him. You're right-the D helped the O a LOT last year and just didn't do crap this year and that opened up the book of criticism on Rudy. If he's gone, get someone who wants a QB to play with his arm more than his legs.
  19. I think Keaton is an average college QB and that's just fine with Bubba as he wants his QB to be a game manager and doesn't need a guy who can win a game with his arm. I am hoping both he and Rudy understand that a QB who can win a game is necessary IF you want to contend for a title. But it's not on Rudy that Studs' skillset is what it is. Sure they could have gone to more of the swing passes to Santiago in space then what has occurred this year and could have tried him in the slot more, but when your QB is not a guy who can consistently hit the HR downfield, what's the point of using your fastest guy out there. Ball would just be underthrown anyway.
  20. "Starting Over Again." "Don't Get Injured." "Please don't pass against our inexperienced DB's and don't run against our too small LB's"
  21. I was thinking that it was nice we were able to stop their second stringers. Then I realized, this D is mostly our second stringers.
  22. Can't wait for next year. Bad news tonight: We get an extra hour. Now I have to keep drinking
  23. I'm hoping Larson, Ott and others are studs. I'm hoping to NEVER see a UND D like this again.
  24. The QB doesn't even get nervous. We had no pressure all game. Where's Turner? KR returns?
  25. I want Z in there.
