Need to be the more intense team next Friday night. Rivalry games are fun.

Overall Thoughts: ~Thought CC was hungrier for the start of the game....yikes ~Kristo playing at another level. As he goes, UND goes. ~Took a step back defensively.....by garsh...... Can't play like that in their own end at Mariucci....just.....uhhh.....It'll be 7-1 if they do.

Zane has been good in the last period. Made some nice saves to keep the lead. I still think that Clark is the guy.

Meh.....Rocco been pretty non existent tonight. May need a new combo for him. Kristo ices it. Sloppy sloppy sloppy play in their own end.

Just went back on my DVR.....my goodness....what official made the call on Mac? I thought Brad was kidding when he said that he was five feet away from him.....Get a clue.....

I'll guess role on team. Wasn't playing with top units and had really a role that wasn't associated with scoring. I guess playing with Kristo and Knight could be considered a scoring role for UND. In SCSU's defense he really didn't tear up the scoreboard while there.

Gleason may give this team more as a forward. Adds a lot of energy to the fourth unit.

Wow.....two defensive pairings that have a guy that will hit people..... I think the wrong Mac is playing with Kristo and Knight, but then they're short a center if they go that way. Glad to see Zane back in the net. Heard he has practiced extremely well.

O'Donnell will be back if Caggiula is out of the lineup. My lineup for tonight: Kristo-Knight-Grimaldi Parks-Mark Mac-Rowney Mitch Mac-O'Donnell-Gaarder Chyzyk-Pattyn-St. Clair Senkbeil just doesn't do it for me. I know it will set off a major celebration when he scores his first goal, but I really don't see that happening for a while.

Saunders made enough great saves to make up for the softie right away. Would be nice to see the fellas get up tonight and just keep their foot on the pedal for sixty minutes. I don't want to throw tonight into must win category, but going into Mariucci next weekend won't be easy.

A couple of things I think that would make things smoother with officiating and keeping the game going because officials come to the bench entirely too much: ~Minor penalties non negotiable. Just go serve the penalty. If it was tripping then obviously the reff thought it was a trip. The whole lobbying that goes on just drags things on. Nobody's mind will be changed. I've never seen a penalty un-called. ~No negotiations on non penalty calls (icing, offsides, faceoff placements) ~On a too many men penalty when the official comes over to notify the coach, the player must come with the official immediately to the penalty box. Last night CC stopped the game for about five minutes when they didn't send someone over.....resting their top penalty killers. ~Not allowing coaches to call for reviews (which I think is already a rule, but is broken). If the officials on the ice all concur on a goal then its a goal. No pulling a Gwoz or Hak last night and stopping the game for ten minutes to review the play.

Good post. IMHO when the officials start throwing around the f-bombs and yapping it just makes things worse. Granted, they get yapped at a ton, but the good officials just make the call, escort the player to the box while they're getting yapped at, and drop the puck. Old WCHA official Mike Schmitt officiated a few of my high school games. Did a tremendous job just making the call and not worrying about what the coaches had to say or players after the fact. I had some great discussions with him during the games (I was a goalie). Of course the jerk always took drinks from my water bottle.

I'm going to go ahead and not blame this loss on the officials. They are crappy, and inconsistent. But they didn't blow this one....UND did.

Absolutely. ~Parks....dumb penalty....goal ~Kristo....dumb penalty....goal I think Hak said it best. The hungrier team won the game. This team needed a bit of a wakeup call.

New through these doors just came out. I think the Edina part just reiterates why everyone hates Edina....they have it better than a lot of college teams. PS: Love when the camera guy says, "this is a public school?"

How about the CC goalies not play their best series of the year this weekend.....

I agree with the QB discussion. Ponder isn't the answer. They have got to get better there. AP is in the prime of his career, and you need a quarterback that will win games in the now. A.P....Harvin.....defense that is getting better.........Need to get un one-dimensional on offense. Immediate draft needs: ~Wide Receiver ~Quarterback ~Defensive line depth.

Have to take my hat off to holy cross. Played their hearts out. Blocked a ton of shots, did a lot of little things extremely well. Tonight's win can be attributed to getting the puck to the net. Too many fancy plays with too many passes almost cost them. Tonight is a good one to quote the great one....."you miss 100% of the shots you don't take".

Nice game for Rocco. Gibson is the tourney MVP. Has to be.
