  1. Its the same way with NDSU fans their jacko. Look at the Bison board and you see exactly the same thing. I attended the NDSU game this past weekend, and low and behold the NDSU student section still has cheers involving UND....no way.... Example: Here we go Bison here we go (instead of clap...clap....SIOUX SUCK).....
  2. If North Dakota had a professional hockey team.....they'd be in a lock out......
  3. So you don't like the current atmosphere at the Al??? Without the student section close to the field screaming like a bunch of chimpanzees theres no way that UND would have won some of the playoff games they have. I guess making money is more important than keeping the students (who pay season tuition) happy.....
  4. I'm scared of Central Washington. I know UND was as worthless of a team that I've ever seen at UND two years ago, but they still handed it to us pretty good that sunny patatoe bowl day. What was the score? 43-7..... That being said UND's entire football team has improved leaps and bounds since that day two years ago, but there is still that painful lingering memory.....
  5. Hmmmm, I think its SCSU. They always play UND well, no matter what the situation is.
  6. I'll be standing in line bright and early that morning, getting extremely drunk that night, and then waking up just in time to get my tickets. PS: If I get pushed at all this year by anyone trying to move as close to the door as they can I may have to punch you.....
  7. I don't think it will hurt UND's SOS that much. Mesa St. is still 23rd ranked team in the country, and although they lost their first game they did make the playoffs last season. If UND plays well on D, and doesn't turn the ball over on O, they should win the game quite handily.

    bison class

Some of my best friends are Bison fans, and they never shy away from saying how classless NDSU fans can be. I visited the bison board the other day to see what it is all about and low and behold every fricken thread on that board is about yours truely, the University of North Dakota. The Green Mill burning is not funny whatsoever. Someone could have been severely hurt, and or killed but I guess we might as well make fun of the situation cause it happened "at the college town north of us". Totally classless. PS: From what I heard Valpo has no scholarships and could maybe play with Crookston??
  9. What a game, that was pretty sweet. The Good: The defense. They were down right awesome. You expect to give up some points to the number one passing team in the country, but I thought they did their job. The Bad: Second half offense. I don't think we crossed the Delta State 40 yard line. The Ugly: Jeff Glas missing that 25 yard field goal. Not only did it fail to give UND a three touchdown lead, but it TOTALLY CHANGED THE MOMENTUM OF THE GAME. I've been ridiculed on this board for not having faith in the guy, but he's still only a 50/50 kicker and that needs to improve.....
  10. I'm a little bit scared about our kicking situation. Glas does have the leg, but he only made 50 percent of his kicks last season. He did make the ones at the end of games that won some games for the fighting sioux, but I really don't feel that confident in him making say a 43 yard field goal in the third quarter.....
  11. What a great problem to have!!! Four goaltenders all capable of stepping in and taking the reigns. I'll have to pick JPar to start the season out. Taking shots from little bro among others in the offseason is probably good for him. He was solid last year even though he took a lot of grief for only being recruited because of Zach. PS: Jake Brandt had Warroad's number during his years at Roseau. I can't remember Warroad beating Jake....

    Ziggy

Ziggy won't get any time between the pipes this year. He should almost just red shirt to save himself some eligibility.

    Goepfert

Boy, Geopfert kind of blew the English paper BG: When's that paper due dude??? Classmate: Ummm tomarrow, we've been talking about it all semester. BG: Uhh ohh, I better do it..... The very next class session BG: Here's my paper, hope you like it. Teacher: Where's your bibliography? BG: Bibli what??? Teacher: Weren't you at class when I talked about the paper. BG: Ummm.....errr.....no Teacher: So you would like to turn this paper in incomplete??? BG: Yeah, I guess so, I'll take whatever grade you give me. Teacher: Well then its plaigarized Bob, and thats what it looks like anyways. BG: Whatever, I got a game tomarrow, so I won't be at class. Just a guess at how the conversation went.
  14. I totally forgot about Joe Vannett. Jamestown was in the west region back in those days, but played a majority of the east region teams if I do recall correctly.
  15. Askew definately could have played DI hockey if not for golf. That kid is probably the best athlete to come out of Fargo South. I mean not counting Bobby Babich of course.

    UND Football

UND looks a little bit weak at the reciever position, but then I'm not sure about any tranfers that have come in. One word to describe the defense.....LOADED!!!!
  17. The only players from western North Dakota to ever win the award are Jeremy Asheim from Bismarck (I think), and Tom Philion, from Minot. The east has a lot of good players (more than the west), but there were years when players from the west could have easily won the award. Jon Grubb had something like 76 points and broke Minot High's and I believe the West Region record (maybe even the state record) for points in a season in 1998. That year Minot only had like 5 losses, and even beat Grand Forks Central for the first time in a while. Yet Markusen won the award. When I was a senior in 2001 Nate Ziegelmann won the award, yet Jared Roloff from BHS had a tremendous season, and was the backbone of a BHS team that could have given RR a run for their money in the title game (BHS beat Fargo North earlier that year). The fact remains that because eastern players play against better competition they will always be given an edge over western players, and I will be very suprised if Aide wins.
  18. What the Mr. Hockey winners list shows is that Sam Aide doesn't have a chance because he's from the western part of the state. I'm not going to even get my hopes up.
  19. Jake Marto basically has it won. Sam Aide could throw up 70 points, and have a better year, yet Marto would still win. I really don't see Mclean winning the award, but Kuntz could give Marto a run for his money.
  20. This has nothing to do with womens hockey really, but......... During the intramural coed rec softball tournament at UND my team got to play the team of both male and female fighting sioux hockey players. The men's team players were all great guys (Schneider, Fylling, Greene, McMahon, and Marvin I think) but the females were complete stuck up prudes. We ended up beating them, and the womens players (especially #10 whoever that is) whined the entire time, and didn't want to shake our hands......
  21. That was a pretty good West Fargo squad, and I'll give them credit for staying in that game long enough for a good bounce, and winning it in OT on a similar bounce. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. UND's first game against Delta St. will set the tone for the season. If UND has a big opening day crowd, and if their defense lives up to its billing it should be a game.
  23. That was definately Minot's best chance to win a state title in recent years. They won the West Region tournament championship game that season in Bimarck over a good century team (who lost to Grafton 3-2 at state that season in a GREAT GAME). Minot losing to West Fargo was a fluke. Both of West Fargo's goals were scored from behind Minot's goal line, and their goalie played out of his mind. I'm not saying Minot would have won the tourny, but that was one of their best teams in a while.
  24. Jordan Willert will be around for at least one more year. With his dad being an assistant coach (and a big advocate of kids staying in high school) I'm thinking that there is a good chance he'll be around for his senior season as well. The group of kids that they have this year and next year is Minot's best chance for a state title since probably back in 03, or 00.
