    2013 Playoffs

NDSU is just a tremendous tremendous football team. Even with some of their best players out they completely controlled that football game. I know NDSU is the best defense in the country, but they made NH look stupid. I don't think it really matters who they play in the NC. Regardless of how good Towson's running game is, NDSU will stop it. And EWU can get it done through the air, but they haven't seen a defense like NDSU's, and that includes the fact that they've played Oregon State this season.
  2. There was about four or five other reasons. Team Canada was ticked they were getting their @sses kicked, and of course when that happens in the game of hockey the officials need to control it. The head official had many opportunities to call the crap on Canada and she didn't. She just kept letting it go, and then it reaches a boiling point at the end.
  3. I like how Canada's coach called Team USA the aggressors after he watched his team take runs at Team USA the entire third period. That was pretty goonish of the Canadian women and I'm glad Jocelyn put that gal in her rightful spot into the end boards. Should only get better between these teams. Unless Noora Raty pulls more of her crap.....
  4. Lost 4-2 to Sweden in Exhibition action. Clearly time to Fire Don Lucia. Looks like they played pretty well minus the score. Outshot them by quite a bit, just couldn't score a goal. Where have we heard that before? Edit* Not the best game for Stolarz or whatever his name is in the net. Not sure who the goaltender will be at this point.
  5. Its like one of those tests that you didn't study at all for, but through some act of God you managed to get a grade much better than you deserved. I give this team a C+ right now. They have been so inconsistent, but get the C+ for how they finished the last five games.
  6. Canada should win it every year with the talent they produce. I'll take a Don Cherry quote, "Canada could make three teams, and they'd all medal". They show up like the big kid on the block, they get all the media attention, the entire nation is watching every move the team makes. Go to TSN.com during the tournament and you've got at least five stories daily on team Canada. Where as in the United States, its just us amateur hockey lovers that know whats going on wherever the tourney is held. I think its good for the sport when a country not named Canada wins. Probably like when the U.S. men's basketball team doesn't win gold at the olympics.
  7. I'm anxious to see what goaltender becomes the guy. Last year Gibson just stole the show. He put the fellas on his back and they just followed him to the gold medal. I think Gilles might be the guy. Demko looked okay the only time I saw him this year against the gophers, but isn't he like 12 years old? Last year I ripped on the coach and he proved me wrong and they won the gold. So I'll go ahead and throw Don under the bus now. Can't believe he's the coach. He's terrible. Awful...... GET RID OF HIM!!!!!
  8. Well if its DeBoer or whatever his name is he better apologize for beating UND with his NAIA team..... That to me immediately removes him from consideration...
  9. I'm anxious to see UND @ SCSU. Early in the year SCSU looked tremendous and handled UND easily at the Ralph. That will be a huge series for UND in the PWR, and for trying to get home ice in the NCHC tournament. I guess more importantly for me is seeing how far UND has come by the end of February.
  10. A few weeks off to heal some injuries, but the schedule looks pretty favorable after the exhibition trip up to Canada. Someone mentioned a few weeks ago that the team had the opportunity to go like 10-2 the next stretch of twelve games when they were heading into the St. Lawrence weekend. Right now they're 5-1 in that stretch. And minus the exhibition games (which should be wins IMHO) here is what the schedule looks like: CC @ home. A team that is reeling, need to sweep that team at home. (7-1) @BSU, home BSU. Should be two more wins. Although BSU always plays UND close. (9-1) @Denver. Split on the road and that closes that stretch of games at 10-2. Or sweep and keep the momentum going. That puts them at 14-8-2 going into Deano at home, Miami at home, then Duluth and SCSU on the road, before a home weekend to close out the year against Western. Should be interesting closing out the year after some had the Ralph being bulldozed in April.

    Hammerisms

~I had no idea that Mark and Mitch were brothers......none. Until Hammer told me every week.
  12. Maybe thats why UND waited so long to sweep a team. They didn't want Hammer to make more of a mule out of himself.
  13. Nice come from behind win. Like I said, it was fun to watch that team in the third period that just continually came at Northern. 5 in a row.
  14. I'll take the UND team I've seen the last six minutes. Completely dominating the game. Plus......they aren't sitting on the lead.
  15. He can't score from next to TH? WHAT??
  16. Some thoughts: ~Another solid game from Zane. Good consistent goaltending will win you some games. ~The young defensemen all played very well. I think LaDue-Thompson will be together for a time. Read each very well in the offensive end, and breaking the puck out of the zone. ~Seemed like the no goal sparked the team. Think they were kind of just getting by there in the third. Sparked them a bit and finished strong. ~Four wins in a row for the fellas. Major let down if NMU sneaks one out tomorrow. Got to "Back this one up" like the head coach said post game.
  17. My bad. Rule is on page 74 of the rulebook online. Link: http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/IH14.pdf
  18. I agree. But he visually impaired him, which is what the rule says.
  19. I had absolutely no clue this was a rule. I know you can't physically prevent the goaltender from stopping the puck, but I guess you can't screen him while in the crease either.
  20. Saturday: St. Clair
  21. RULE 83.6 of NCAA rule book under disallowed goals. On page 74. If an attacking player interferes with the goalkeeper in the crease physically or visually, preventing the goalkeeper from defending the goal. The Officials got it right according to the rule book.
  22. So you can be in the crease, but you can't impair the goaltender's vision while in the crease? Need to look at the rule book.
  23. Visually impairing the goaltender in the crease? Could someone explain to Kober and Dan that Mac wasn't in the crease while screening the NMU goaltender so they don't sound so stupid.
  24. How is this not a goal?
  25. Taking penalties is how....hmmm....3-2 UND now.
