So Zimmer is still the coach.....great. They are going to get blown out of the water in Baltimore and San Diego. Not a great stretch of schedule for them going forward. @ Ravens....loss. 3-5 @ Chargers....loss. 3-6 Green Bay.....loss. 3-7 @ 49ers.....loss. 3-8 @ Detroit....win...sigh....4-8 Steelers....loss....4-9 @ Bears.....loss....4-10 Rams.....loss.....4-11 @ Packers.....loss....4-12 Bears.....loss....4-13 That should get them a pick in the top five. It would be really stupid to try at all if they get on a losing streak here. Get a new coach in with an idea of how to move the ball and put an emphasis on scoring every possession.

Well said. I think if/when those major conferences break away and do their own thing UNDS needs to have a plan of action in place. IMHO I could see the NCAA just saying "okay, everyone left in D1 is division 1." There are roughly 70 power 5 schools. Right now there is like 130 teams in FBS football. So you've got a leftover of 60 FBS teams after the split. I just can't see the NCAA letting there be 60 teams in the top division of their football. I guess you could see what is left of the top division cherry picking the FCS schools they'd like to add to their conferences. The next few years will be interesting when it comes to NCAA football. Will they bow down and let the big dogs collect more to keep them in the NCAA?

According to the Fan Buzz website I searched on, the New Mexico bowl paid out about 1 Million dollars to Utah State a few years back for making the bowl game. Tulane got $750,000 for playing in the "Cure Bowl". The lowest I saw was Georgia Southern getting 250 grand for playing in the "Cameila Bowl". How much did we get paid to go be the whipping boys for the FBS schools? You could definitely put me on the edge in this conversation. It would be cool to have a destination type bowl game every year, but you aren't winning a national championship ever again. Which, at the same time is the fate of all the other sports not named hockey at our institution.

So with all these schools moving up from the "Subdivision" when are they just going to call a spade a spade and make it like all the other D1 sports where you're all FBS schools in football? I mean we are losing Sam, James, Jackson, probably the Bizen soon, already lost Appalachian and Coastal..... Just thinking out loud about the future of what may be a watered down FCS.

I would have taken a bullet for Zim years ago, but the time has come for him to go. Winning in the NFL nowadays is about keeping up with the new trends of the game, and he is too stubborn to change. Need a fresh start with a coach who can utilize the offensive talent they have.

I think Senden-Hain-Jammer need the task of the Brink line. Really not sure who else you would want with the last change. What I wouldn't give for a guy like Prpich right now to skate with Gutman for a weekend.

Funny observation. Been listening to college football games for years on radio (Us, Notre Dame, Minnesota, NDSU) and I'm flabbergasted at how much UND broadcasters mention Baukol. Thirty years of Notre Dame and they never mention their S&C guy. I can't say anything bad/good about Nate because I'm not in the know. A few friends of mine that played at UND are 50/50 on him, which is any coach out there. Just interesting that he is praised a lot on the radio. NDSU mentioned their guy only because they knew he was headed to greener pastures.

I just can't believe Bubba heard that play call on the headset and went with it. Waletzco was destroying his guy off the ball, and we are running trick plays to pick up two yards? I'm trying to find comfort in this team not making the playoffs anyways because they needed to win in Brookings for a realistic shot, and its not working. *Watch them win in Brookings to go 6-5.....and miss out....

I think Gaber would be deserving. Created chances and finally got one to drop at the end. Took a dumb penalty 190 feet from our goalie that cost us a pp goal.

Hockey is the third most popular sport in the world..... Keep calling it niche if it makes you feel better about not supporting it at UND.

I cannot believe we lost that game. However if someone told me our team lost in that fashion I wouldn't doubt it.

From now on when we are running around and throwing the puck around in our end we need a guy to just fall on the puck and have his helmet fall off to get a whistle. Or maybe Driscoll faking a stroke would get us a whistle. A better chance than us trying to break it out ourselves.
