Actually.......I believe that a Bismarck attorney flipped off and said that to a Bismarck PD officer several years ago (or was it Mandan?) and was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, fought it to the ND Supreme Court, and it was overturned because Police Officers are held to a higher standard and should expect to hear things like that. Had he done it to a regular person, it would've stuck. Oh, by the way, my car was punched by an GFPD officer doing a very poor job of directing traffic outside the Alerus Center before a Sioux Football game this year. I feel sorry for someone that makes that guy mad.

The best thing that you can do is be prepared to have a discussion with a Bison fan when they start mocking the Sioux. I don't know how many times someone has approached me about something and I have left them standing there with a glazed look on their face and nothing can come out of their mouth because they don't know what just happened. I've been told by people before that they "aren't prepared to have this discussion" with me after they started it. I've had people speechless and turn around and walk away from me because they don't know what to say. It's fun to say the least. Let the person spout off all they want, think about what they said, and then come back with something even better.

I would think that an event like that you could park in The Ralph lot. I'd try that first. The east end of the Wellness Center lot is close too......but they may have people there looking for parking permits.....or even charging to park there.
