  1. Coach Buck is a fairly private person, and my guess was he did not want a lot fanfare when he was ready to leave. That why he planned on a announcement at the end of this season when he did.... There has been a email circulating for a Month now, as to getting former players back on the Febraury 11th game, I was hoping we could also be Celebrating his plus 700 career Wins as a Head Coach.....(Think he is at 704 all time now) Be nice to have a Big Crowd on that Saturday Night....Go Sioux!
  2. I will keep my views on the AD and President to myself.... Your right, however this is a time to Celebrate the accomplishments of a Great Coach and Leader of UND Athletics (Womens Basketball and Mens Baseball).... You only have to look at the Newspaper articles and Facebook pages of former players and friends to see the unbelievable impact Coach Buck had upon their lives. They write from the heart on what this man has taught them and to what they have become in life.... Again, I hate to see him go, he will be missed...
  3. Just to set the record straight.... After a adult beverage with Coach Buck, This has been in place for well over a year, he told Faison last May of his plans to step down. This has also been confirmed by some of his closer friends then me. It had nothing to do with any comments this past week from the Fans down South or any current situations. I have the a lot of respect for Coach and his committment to Womens Basketball and the University of North Dakota, what he has accomplished will leave a Legacy forever. I will miss him, except for the occasional round of golf, he was a Good Friend, Great in the Community and made a impact on many players, coaches and fans.... Thanks for everything Coach!
  4. Totally Blown Away.... Great Coach ! His contributtions to UND and Womens Basketball will remain forever... Sad to see him go....
  5. If I were a betting Man, my money would be on Coach Buck going at least 1 maybe 2 years into the Big Sky before saying goodbye....

  17. Women looked sluggish, tonite but got the Win 62 to 56.... Going to be exciting to see Evers and Wall grow into their roles.... Evers 18 points, may never have scored that many in a HS game, she is almost 6'6"...
  18. Zaz and Martha were our host couple at our Wedding back in 1980. Could not be nicer people. I'm from Colorado (23 years) last 31 in Grand Forks. It's people like Zaz, Murph, Tom Clifford, RT, Bolly, Dale, Gene, Bubba, Dosch, Mannasau, Gunther, Glas, I could go on forever that make Grand Forks, UND what it is. Coach Murph exemplifies this and lead by example, he was truly inspirational...
  19. First meet Gene Murphy back in the early 80's, he was a guest speaker for a couple of Father and Son Banquet's at the Elks Club in Grand Forks. Coach Gene Murphy was one of a kind, truly Inspirational, a Great Ambassador for the Fighting Sioux, He loved Sport and was a Fierce Competitor, never backed away from any challenge. He was well respected and loved by many, he will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends. Today we lost one of the best, may he rest in peace. UND Coaches Olson, Helling, Murph, (front row) RT, Muss (back row)

  23. Dale's issues were more with the Leadership in Athletic Administration at the time then the positioning or classification of the Fighting Sioux........

  25. Congratulations to all the Players, Coaches, Staff, and all the contributed to one of my fondest memories in Sioux Athletics a Fighting Sioux National Championship.
