  1. YeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaawwwwww! Real Live Dead Gofurs ter throw. No more aimin the truck for road kill
  2. Well it's not like we were gonna ask him for a quote or anything...
  3. forecheck, saw the TP and the sign. Was a little disappointed Finger or Shepherd didn't get beaned with the TP I was a little surprised to see the sign at the women's game. I assume that was you with the yellow and black jacket!? Then I figured maybe you were stowing it for later. Highly amusing Did you get any flack from security about the TP?
  4. Thanks for the recap. Did he mention anything about the Northern Lights Classic next year? Member of REA management announced to employees that BC would be playing in it next year. Hadn't heard that anywhere else yet.
  5. I heard they were benched for poor play Friday
  6. Thanks for the info. I have a Kodak DX3900 and am looking at purchasing some lens' for it. Not sure how good it will be with the action either. Seems to be better outside, but then I'm not lookin to be the next "PCM" either As much as I seem to attract pucks maybe I should stick to family pics I have some similar ones of an empty waterslide in Walker, MN.
  7. PCM, I'm curious, what kind of digital camera do you use?
  8. first 2 periods were indeed butt ugly, Mankato was getting to the puck quicker and grabbing and holding (reminded me of previous Wisconsin teams ) Sioux were taking twice as many shots, a lot were right into Jenson though. Sioux penalties were killer! Mankato seemed to be lookin for a fight and Hale gave them one. He got in several good shots before they were separated. Mankato looked good on the PP. Sioux looked much better on their PP's than normal. Puck movement was much better I thought. One of the first thing Ranfranz faced was a 2 short situation. I didn't think he looked bad. Was surprised and pleased to see Brandt back in goal for the third. He seemed to be much more focused. Sioux looked like a completely different team in the 3rd period. Dominated play completely. Jensen made some good saves to preserve the tie. just my $.02
  9. Multi-tasking Great job of multi-tasking PCM-- both the photo and the recap.
  10. Reiter (UAA) pretty much stood on his head for 2 games -- and earned defensive player of week and Bruckler (UW an NHL draft pick made some great saves). I love sitting behind the goal even if I am a puck magnet While I think they do need better finishing at times, I don't think we should be worried yet. The water bottle fight on the jumbo tron was great, I had heard about it but never seen it before. Got the crowd into things before introductions. Liked the line combos last night as well, but knowing Blais I'll probably never see the same combos again
  11. LOL, thanks jk! Ba$tards from the sheep fields... I'm gonna be grinnin all mornin
  12. How about "nasty good", "freaky good", or my favorite "wicked good"?
  13. official WCHA site has Bochenski with 2 SH/ UND 6 USCHO site - his personal stats show 0 SH/ but statistics lists show him with 2 UND official site has him with only 1 and team with 5 strange according to UND program most SH goals in a season was 18 1986-87 most by an individual were Hrkac (86-87) and Smail (79-80) with 8
  14. I agree with much of what has been said (Katie, PA, etc.) Also along the lines of improving the between period spots I have been wondering if there is a way to submit ideas for games, spots, etc. I would love to see a head to head competition where contestants can go head to head shooting stuffed animals (such as gophers) at the nets. You could have teams--one person shooting and one in nets to pass the animal back. team with the most (gophers) in the net in a certain time limit wins. It would work well for most opponents. shoot the gophers, hit the huskies, etc. The guys doing the women's hockey spots are pretty good--slightly juvenile but have good presence and the contests are better. Laser light show was much better last year. They have the ability to put images on the ice ( like the logos of WCHA teams) I'm at a loss as to why they don't use it for anything other than the Sioux logo. It was probably my aunt & uncle they have 10 kids and don't get out much
  15. A resounding yes to all of the above. Although I must confess that since I bought 3 season tickets and 2 were half price. I only pay a little over $2 a game to get in. heck even at full price it is only like $3.30 a game. Besides lowering single GA tickets maybe they could try family pack season tickets like some of the other arenas. That way you don't have to pay $5 for a 4 year old to go. I do think that they should have the big screen on (cameras) even when attend. is low. It is part of the fun for both kids and adults alike. The games are more inventive maybe we could spread the word about those. The frozen t-shirt contest is highly amusing. Bring back turkey bowling! While all the little things may not seem to have much to do with hockey, they are part of what generates new fans. Why dress like a moron holding a giant finger if no one is going to notice?! On a different tangent Does anyone have any idea what the markup on a $4.75 hotdog is?! Astronomical I think the arena would sell twice as much food and have happier fans if they lowered prices. Ok I am done rambling now
  16. Yeah, What She Said! although the "Sioux" part of the national anthem was a little sad heck I think REA could have accomplished it by giving away something that may not cost them anything. For Example, the use of a suite for you and 20 of your closest friends for an event they hadn't planned to sell out. Or an REA parking pass for the directors club or suite level for the year. I know we could use an extra one and non FSC members would probably love one. Heck why stop there; free programs for a year or $200 worth of food (that is only a couple hot dogs ) Now you've got me thinkin...dangerous you know. Is there a suggestion box somewhere? I need to put in a request for at least one sink in a bathroom where I can get the water on without waving my arms like a lunatic in front of it. And then there is the multi-level Betty Englestad parking Garage...
  17. Couple observations: Hinkley(the other goalie) played very well today. She made some big saves. It struck me that she looked pretty big. She is only listed at 5-8. Then it dawned that she IS as big as the Sioux men's goalies. In general played good defensively allowed a lot less shots on goal. I am impressed with Mutrie's speed(F) and White's defensive skills(F). Kovacevich (D) had a very good game as well- a goal and an assist for sure. She reminds me of Commodore in that she can't seem to stay out of the box -- not that that is always a bad thing Despite the fact that it is a completely different game without the checking (well the legal stuff anyway). I enjoyed it nearly as much and am looking forward to watching the improvement over the next few years. I would imagine increased scholarships will be a key.
  18. Good women's game today. Sioux were down 2-0 first period scored 4 in 2nd to come back and won 5-3. The only disappointing thing was the attendance was like 732.

    Manitoba

just some general impressions from the game: Thought Genoway played well in his first game. Lots of enegy, contributed right away. Sophie played an entire period without giving up a goal Leinweber looked solid (I no longer hold my breath) Dang near went into euphoric shock when Money hustled back into position defensively Marvin makes a better door than a window. He slammed a couple of players quite nicely Saw the captain score, got a couple laughs from Canady, and a cheerleader fell on her ass. All in All a good night
  20. ummmm yeah! What he said
  21. Wow, some strong comments by Parise: He does a good job of hiding his regret at choosing UND over MN
  22. ROFL
  23. yes, I believe he is a bigtime Gopher fan that spends all his time taking pictures of Lucia Great article anyway!
  24. The following was posted by jimdahl (i don't know how to put a quote in a different thread, sorry) "Sources indicate that last Spring Gemini thought that they would be producing jerseys for both Michigan and North Dakota this season with a Nike-swoosh on them. I think the only implication for Gemini of the Nike branding is that they don't get to produce Gemini-branded replicas." I don't know for sure but I would guess Scheel's or Campus book store would have them. hope that helps
  25. Maybe we could hit Ralph up to start an internship program in the communications and computer programs at UND, it would be a great opportunity for the students to learn all different aspects of broadcasting/webcasting, etc. If they couldn't find a play-by-play guy we could always watch on webcast while listening to Hennessy (most of us probably would anyway). They could do other sports too. I'm sure there are problems with the broadcasting rights, etc. but I can dream can't I. I suppose I shouldn't run out and buy a faster computer just yet
