  1. Yet they can show us the team on a small bobsled track on their day off, as well as highlights of the game, in their All Access Pass. Perhaps they should upgrade the All Access Pass to include the show that really matters!
  2. I always think of them whenever I hear Bob! Still love their movie! "Cover the short side...don't get beat deep." "The power of the force stopped you, you hosers!"
  3. It's all a bunch of crap! Canada shows all their games (okay, it is Canada though); but Russia televises all their games (sure, it's a tad closer to the Czech Republic than the States but c'mon!). We should at least see it on NHL Center Ice. Love this tournament but continue to only be able to listen to games via audiocasts on the internet, as it's been the last 6+ years.

    Lennon gone

And to give up the balmy North Dakota winters!
  5. Salary Cap increases each year, so the minimum rookie salary increases. Therefore, Malkin, who signed a year later than Crosby, makes more. Parise just signed a new contract this summer, so he's making more than all of them now, but only for another year. Crosby should get a very nice hike this summer, and Malkin will get one next year. EDIT: After doing a little more research, maybe that's now how it really is. Heck, I don't know. I just wish I had some of that jingle!!!
  6. They said he's not the strongest skater, but does fine on the smaller ice. However, they didn't think he'd be able to hold up and compete to the level they desired on the larger international ice.
  7. Defensemen on the list have an excuse as they're defensemen. The forwards better be playing a large role other than goal scoring! At least David made the record books!!!
  8. They were talking about the draft on tsn.ca (World Juniors Wrap-up on broadband), and Bob McKenzie talked about the draft. He stated that Steven Stamkos would go higher than Tavares, according to the majority of most GM's, as he's more of a complete player than Tavares at this point. He also stated that this is why Stamkos is playing a regular shift, while Tavares is the 13th forward.
  9. Could have been Burish behind the salute too. Classic move by him though during warm-ups. Have to love that WCHA rivals stay strong even after the players move on to the pros. I would have loved to see that.
  10. I'm not that far in the broadcast replay yet!
  11. Thanks. In addition to scoring, Max Pacioretty (U of Mich) went out early in the first with a knee injury. Hit with a knee on knee hit. Didn't sound good. Hope the best for him.
  12. NHL Network isn't covering any games until the medal round (January 2nd). I was hoping it may be on NHL Center Ice, as it has been in past years, but didn't see it on there either. Not that I could have watched it today anyway, as I totally forgot about the tournament and decided to sleep in, and then remembered it as soon as I woke up. Right now, I'm listening to the replay of the Audiocast to try to figure out who scored. USA is down 0-1 right now, so I'm waiting for the scorefest to begin.
  13. Team USA disposes of Kazakhstan today, 5-1. Team Canada plays the Czech Republic at 1:00p.m. today.
  14. That's nothing but OUTSTANDING for hockey. More teams should do this. See it all the time in college hockey, but not at the pro level, and many fans are lifelong season ticket holders. Players should show their gratitude for their support through the good and bad times. Thanks for sharing!
  15. Don't know much about the Sansa, but this is what I found. Need to use Fanfare. Sandisk Sansa Fanfare setup is extremely straightforward: you sign up for a free Fanfare account, download the Windows-only client software, browse the collections from CBS, Showtime and others (slated for heavy growth in the content-partner area, says SanDisk), and click the "plus" sign when you see something you like. If the TakeTV is plugged in, the video will begin loading. If not, you will be prompted to insert it.
  16. Should just have to load it into your itunes Library and then drag it into your IPod.
  17. Not related to Peter Puck, but a YouTube video I came upon after watching Peter Puck. Crazy Canadians!!!
  18. Sioux Hab-it's Peter the Puck??!!
  19. Though I am older than 28, I do not remember Peter the Puck, though he was amusing to watch on YouTube. Great idea to bring him back to educate new viewers about the game.
  20. Probably in April.
  21. I don't think Lucia's comment was out of line. College hockey is unique in the fact that if you lose a player, you just can't sign another player immediately. You have to follow the guidelines of the NCAA. Yes, the Gophers can definitely call up one of their recruits now that it's semester break, and they can enroll in the university, but it's not like they can shop around for the right player. Which Sutter are you talking about? Somehow, I either missed that story or it's too far back in the memory to shake loose into recollection.
  22. The other thing people seem to be overlooking is that Gophers really did lose a lot over the summer, and it's not surprising at all that they have the record they do. When you have the number of new guys playing blue line as the Gophers had, you have to expect mistakes and losses. The loss of Stoa took away a lot too, not just offensively, but in leadership. I actually think the Gophers have done pretty good compared to all the new guys on the ice. Hard to blame Lucia for their record thus far. Snow's comment was completely unproffessional. For someone who never had a great professional career, should we now say that Maine did a terrible job in developing him?
  23. Okay, perhaps I shouldn't have referred to them as panzies. I'm old school in thinking that some traditions simply should change. One famous Navy tradition that has changed quite a bit, as you're no longer allowed to use shillelagh's. Blanket parties, as Dagies was referring to in his post, is something else that doesn't happen anymore (or at least not as often as it once did...Marines can be pretty fanatical).
  24. I don't fault him at all for wanting a better life. Pretty much everyone wants some part of their life to be better. However, when you're a key component on a team such as the Gophers, you honor the commitment. I have no problem with elite players leaving after one or two years of college, to advance to the next level, but at least wait until the season is finished. Greico made his decision to leave mid-year, but he was not the starting goaltender for the Sioux. He knew that he was not going to log a lot of ice time this year. Yes, it put the Sioux in somewhat of a bind, but nothing compared to Okposo leaving early. As for scholarships, unless they've changed, there given as full or partial, and I think it would be safe to say KO was getting the full ride. Do you think Okposo would have left early if the Gophers were leading the WCHA, or is a large part of his decision due to the mediocre season the Gophers have had thus far?
  25. Memories of the good 'ol military days!!! Can't do that to the panzies in the service these days!
