It's predicted that he'll be out 3 to 4 weeks.

I wouldn't agree with that. First of all, I do believe stats drives post season awards. Secondly, JT averages about 20 seconds more of ice time than Kane, so it's not like it's a significant difference. They're two different type players. Kane is the playmaker and Johnny's a scorer. Yes, I do think Johnny is more of the complete player, and I think everyone on the Blackhawks recognizes this too, but I don't see the major difference you mention.

Definitely good news there! However, it will allow Kane to gain on points again in the Calder race. Johnny was catching up to him quite a bit! Kane only leads by 5 points now. Oh well, guess the best news is that it's not too serious of an injury! Let's hope for a quick recovery so we can see him on the ice. I'm not scheduled to see him until February!

USA Hockey is reporting that the game will begin at 1p.m.

Had to give my vote to Porter. With the stakes that were on the line, and the goal coming against the Gopher, nothing else even came close in my highlight reel.
-
I'll have that game on DVR to start watching as soon as I get home at 3p.m. Won't be logging on to any hockey sites until after the game. Good thing about Tennessee, don't have to worry about anyone blowing it for me!!!

Bob McKenzie thinks Bernier will get the start too, though he's not positive. HUGE game for Team USA. This year's Canada team appears to be a lot weaker than the last 3 years team. One thing they've really banked on the past 3 years is team defense, and they don't seem to be as strong in that area this year. Also, as Sioux Hab-it has mentioned, their offensive load is being carried by their 17 year olds. This year may be the best odds the U.S. has had against Canada in the past several years. Of course, throw in that it's a rival game and it's two North American teams playing one another, and not sure that any of that matters. Since Toews or any other Sioux player is on Team Canada this year, I have NO desire for Canada to win (not that there was much last year, but at least Johnny won gold). Team USA better win!!!! Have to watch it tape delayed however, due to having to go back to work tomorrow! Darn inservice days!

Toews going to be on before the US/Canada game on Friday on TSN. Sprig, did you find the game (Czech/Russia). It's on NHL Network (Ch. 403).
-
The question is, who will start in goal? Personally, as an American, I'd rather face Mason.
-
Didn't that happen to the U.S. against Russia in GF?

As very attractive women hand out Player of the Game awards, the Canadian announcers respond, "I tell you this, team's really enjoy Player of the Game awards." "Why? Because they get to see the nice tree there?" "Yeah, because they get to see the tree."
-
Canada hits and empty net to take a 4-2 lead with under a minute. Looks like it will be Canada vs USA on Friday!
-
Canada up 3-2, with 7 minutes left in the 3rd.
-
After Canada goes up, 2-1, Finland comes right back to tie it at 2.

They said that was their original uniforms.

Doc Emerick forgets where he is, and says, "The celebration continues here in Boston."
-
Now the fireworks to cap it off. That was a pretty fun game to watch.
-
Crosby wins it for the Pens.
-
The downfall to this game is that all the players from both teams can't go out and drink beers to rehydrate their bodies!!! That was always my favorite part during college, after we played pick-up games in EGF.
-
You would!!! I do agree that it's harsh to put 2 points on the line for the winner of this game. Love the game, but it's still an important two points.

Darrin Pang says he's wearing Stafford's skates. Is Drew hurt or a healthy scratch?
-
It appears to have gotten darker there. They say it's sleeting now, turning to snow.
-
The first few minutes after your 5 minute break were just killer too! Made you just want to go home until your legs were loose again.
-
Yeah, the difference between this and true pond hockey is that your shift breaks were when you stayed back to play defense while someone else made the rush up the ice. You never took a break off the ice until it was time to go into the warming house.
-
Puck goes into the snow. I don't see any players trudging through the snow to look for the pucks either! That was always a downer to the game. Of course, you always had the guy who stayed on the ice who tried to direct everyone exactly where it went into the snowbank!
