I don't remember any ice crews coming out at Strauss Park in EGF after I tripped on a patch of cement! This game could take a while if they have to stop continually for the elements.

Crosby with beautiful stickwork to get the puck into the zone. Then Miller dives out of the way of the puck, something you don't see much from goalies, to keep the puck from banking in off of him.

Players looking up for the scoreboard. Probably wondering, how long until the end of the 1st!?

Announcers said Buffalo fans snowballed the Penguins bus upon arrival. Reminds me of the good old Gopher days at the old Ralph! This game looks great. Players skating into the snow aren't going to be able to see anything!

I've played in worse than that! Colby Armstrong just mentioned the shovels! Every kid who's every played outdoors has had a shovel at some point in their hands!

Snow flying like crazy in Buffalo!!! This is going to be like the pond days I had when I was a kid. The difference...I don't see the players taking a break to get out shovels to clear the ice!

This is a really cool thing the NHL is doing. They have the Penguins playing in it, which if you're looking to attract fans, that's definitely one of the teams you want. In fact, the only way I think the NHL did do something wrong with this game, is by choosing the DAY to air it nationally. New Years Day??? New Years Day sports have always been college football. Why try to compete with that? People have parties to watch the various games. Yes, I'll watch this game, but I'll still be switching back and forth to check on the football games. Should still be fun to watch.

Operating off my old-time laptop in Alabama tonight, so I can't pull in the video or audio feed, so I'm going off of posts! GO SIOUX!!!! Don't need a recap of scoring. I wasn't lazy and went through all the pages!

Carbondale actually isn't that far for me. I think it's about 4 hours. I drive through it everytime I go back to NoDak.

Hak post-game comments: Pretty hard fought game. Some tired and heavy legs, probably on both sides, which led to some plays that weren't that sharp. No lack of effort or intensity on either side. Pretty good game on both sides. Real happy to see Zajac get off to that start. He's been outstanding the last few weeks in practice. Martens did a very good job with them tonight, and scored a huge insurance goal. Thought we some good things out of everyone in the lineup. It's critical you get production out of your other lines. All the games we play, you're playing teams with good depth. Tonight, our depth came through. Trupp came back after us allowing a goal, and gets a garbage rebound goal, which turns out to be the game winner. We're trying to work back up to game shape tonight. 2nd period, we had a lot of specialty teams, so to have Zajac line play as well as they did, and Trupp line get the game winner, that's the difference in the game. Phil did a great job. That's his job. It's his job to give us a chance to stay in. He did a very good job in keeping us in it. I expect both teams to play a little more sharp tomorrow night. They played well tonight, and I'm sure they'll be hungry to get a win tomorrow night. We're going to have to come back with the same hunger. Won't make huge changes for tomorrow night. We have a couple guys who had a few good weeks of practice who could make the line up, but we're not going to make that decision tonight.

Nice win for the Sioux!!! Need to come back tomorrow night and get the sweep! Don't come back with a half a$$ effort!
