  1. Announcer says that Clarkson was the top scoring offense in the ECAC this year. These guys look miserable this year, and you weren't sure before today (which I don't know who wasn't), this is painfully obvious that the ECAC isn't anywhere near the WCHA or Hockey East.
  2. Clarkson icing the puck quite a bit thus far into the game, as UMass continues to bring offensive pressure.
  3. UMass well ahead in shots; Clarkson ahead in hits. Still 0-0 with 10:30 left in the 1st period.
  4. UMass all over Clarkson in the first 5 minutes.
  5. UMass and Clarkson about to start to begin the best weekend of the year for college hockey fans!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Parise puts in #29 tonight, with Zajac getting the primary assist. Zach nearly put in #30 at the end of the 2nd period.
  7. Just going off of what my Dish Network guide tells me, which is FOXNY.
  8. Precisely. He may be showboating, we don't know that for sure (or at least I don't). I can see why opposing teams and their fans think that. I've never said one way or another what he is doing. It may be that he's just trying to show the ref that he has the puck and he needs to blow the whistle to stop play. It may be him showboating. Or he may be that into the game that he doesn't realize how much it appears to be showboating, and he is simply jacked up for the game. In regards to the booing, that's just part of hockey. You'd think that during the awards ceremony, you wouldn't see it, but it happens from time to time. North Dakota fans are not perfect, and where a lot of fans cheer during awards ceremonies, we have our share who will continually boo. What can you say, the world is an imperfect place.
  9. Good to go to watch other games, but not ours. My sports package only lists our games tape delayed.
  10. Altitude will be airing games live, but our game is not one of the one's they will be airing. They will be airing the West Regional final, but that will be tape-delayed at the same time the other 3 stations are carrying it. I have yet to find a station that will be airing our game(s) live.
  11. Since it's the NCAA tournament, we should get either ECAC or Hockey East refs, correct? I think I'd rather have a Hockey East ref than an ECAC, as they tend to let their boys play a little more than the ECAC refs, who call a game similar to CCHA refs.
  12. It's a logical selection for the tournament. The majority of the teams in the WCHA are relatively close to the Twin Cities, and it's the center point for the teams where it's not close. Where Sioux fans do travel well, I can't imagine having as many Sioux fans in Milwaukee than there would be in St. Paul. Same with Denver/CC. So, where the Gophers to get to basically have home-ice every year, it's because of the logistics. If the Gophers were winning it every year, than there would be a lot more argument about it.
  13. I'm not convinced they'll get by Maine. Maine's never lost a NCAA game in New York. Regardless of their record or recent play, I have a feeling they'll put up a battle!
  14. You forgot to add how great it is that we have such a great site to go to such as SiouxSports.com, to discuss our beloved Sioux sports, whether we're in Grand Forks; fighting the war in Iraq; or living sporadically throughout the world. No matter how far away we get from GF, we can always just come here and talk Sioux Sports! Thanks Jim!
  15. So wouldn't that make her wrong if you can hand pass, which you can, and that was what she was arguing? Penalty was called due to the grasp, which was obvious how he picked it up and than threw it. I still can't believe the look he gave the ref afterwards, like he didn't know that.
  16. I should hope so as it was basically a home game for them. Always going to have the fans who show poor sportsmanship, regardless of where the game is being played...that's just the way it is. Only thing you can do is act appropriately yourself.
  17. Don't know for sure, but Hensick is obviously getting points, and Cogliano is no slouch, so I'm assuming those two are scoring regularly, with the other two lines chipping in at times. I really wish our second line was scoring more regularly throughout the season. Yes, they've been contributing a lot in the past month, but I still feel uneasy when they're on the ice, in that they're not going to be able to put one in. I found myself really wishing the DOT line was on the ice all the time last night.
  18. It was the same way last year, which is why everyone was so jacked for the Sioux game after watching Holy Cross pull off the miracle.
  19. Just spent the last hour determining average age of both teams (I'm on Spring Break for 8 more days!!! ) and discovered that Michigan is about a month younger than our team on average. Experience wise, Michigan has made the NCAA's the last 16 years, so their older players have the experience, but so do our guys with our run to the Frozen Four the past two years and and the west regional finals game the year before. We're pretty much even in those two areas, with the experiencing edge going to us for getting further the past 2 years.
  20. According to USCHO, we play the late game, which is not being aired on TV until 10p.m. that night on ESPNU and CSNWS, as of right now, according to my Dish Network TV Schedule. The final will be at 3:00p.m. central time, but is not being aired until 5:00p.m. on ESPNU, FOXNY, ALTUD, and CSNWS. Hopefully this will change.

  22. It's always Lee's fault!
  23. Only the Frozen Four (Semi's on ESPN2 and Finals on ESPN). This coming weekend is up to the regional sports networks, most of them covered by FOX Sports.
  24. So basically, you were stating something you were unsure of. Here's how it breaks down as far as class: Michigan has 6 seniors, 2 juniors, 11 sophomores, and 7 freshman North Dakota has 3 seniors, 5 juniors, 12 sophomores and 5 freshman (which was 6 freshman before Bishop left). It's pretty even regarding leadership and experience goes. They have a few more seniors than we do, but we have junior leadership too.
  25. That will be a downfall to any team who play the Sioux in the playoffs. Definitely don't want the DOT line on a PP. Goofs did a good job at limiting the PP opportunities last night.
