I would agree with you that Roche was a "me" kind of guy. His stop at UND was solely for the purpose to prepare for the next level. Roche would skip classes regularly, causing his teammates to have to run stairs and other fun stuff. Neither Travis or Zach were freshman when they left. Both of them played two years and if I remember correctly, Travis had to sit out a year before he could play. Parise was the team player that Rick talked about. He did make a quick move, but I believe that was due to him wanting to play in the NHL that season, and he was under the impression that by signing, he would at least get the chance to play that season, even if he got sent to the AHL after the regular season was finished. Not sure of Travis, but hasn't Zach made quite a few trips back to Grand Forks since leaving? He also always speaks highly of the program now that he's in the NHL.

On my trips down to SoDak to see my parents, that was always the highlight of the trip!

Proud alum of UND (2000 & 2002), now living in TN as a special education teacher. I work in as a Behavior Management teacher and my students who earned Reward Day tomorrow get to watch a movie. I told them I was bringing in a DVD of Sioux hockey! There's too much damn orange here, so we need to change that with some green. Hey, last year, every student of mine new "Stand Up And Cheer" and would sing it with me every day!

Don't expect much for televised hockey in Georgia. I live in Tennessee, and if it isn't related to football or basketball, you won't see much of it. I have Dish Network's sports package, which allows me to see them when they play Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Denver (sometimes when it's convenient for them). I'm planning on getting the FSSN sat for this season. If that doesn't go through, I'll go with the plan established by UND.

All part of the learning process RedWing. We all make our stupid posts from time to time, and we learn from them. I'm sure I'll continue to make a few in the near future and I'll continue to learn from them. I'm with you in that I'm not into hunting....probably because I'd be more of a danger to myself with a gun then the darn animal. However, my brother's an avid hunter and I sure love eating whatever he brings home!!!!

You can still do that with NHL '07. I win every game with a score of around 40-2 (of course, I refuse to go up to the most difficult level, where this wouldn't be possible). I always trade away the top players as well, to obtain former Sioux players on my team.

We've seen Dunc's hit all over the net. Obviously, top right corner tends to be his most visited area of the net. Like Toews, I think Dunc's could hit this without even looking at the net, but I do recall him hitting other area of the net as well. This camp can only help these guys more, which makes it even more exciting for us fans. Is it hockey season yet??

Exactly. Thrashers organization know he hasn't become the player they had hoped he would by this time in his career. This is Kozek's make it/break it year. If he shines, he still has a chance with the club. If he continues to do what he's done the past two years, they'll release his rights. I really hope he turns it on this year. I had high hopes for him last year (as I'm sure everyone did), and was really disappointed with the season he had. I've heard from the media and other posters that the kid can really play, but I'm just hoping we see it for one year.

I agree. Julien coaches them to first in the division and gets canned with 3 days left. Devils biggest problem last year was that Brodeur played 78 games, so when playoffs came around, he looked average at best. Need to play Weekes a good 20 games this year to make sure Brodeur is fresh for a playoff run.

Yes they were, I remember watching Zach go after some guy after he took a run at Jordan. It was one of the few times Zach lost his cool! Great to have David on board!

Sioux fans better enjoy this next season, as it will be Oshie's last, with others most likely to leave as well. 3 months is still entirely too long.

Agree 100%. As a Devils fan, I won't be sad not seeing Gomez pass rather than shoot next year. He's a good playmaker, but I don't think he's worth the deal he got. The bigger loss for the Devils was Rafalski. Nice deal for Blake. Hopefully he can continue to put up the numbers in Toronto. I look for the Devils to find another center to take Gomez's place. Can't see breaking up the chemistry of Parise and Zajac. The gelled rather well in Travis' first year, and Zach's second year.
