According to the recruiting tracker post on the previous page, there are 5 competing offers with SU. If they could win 2 of these outright it would be a huge step in the right direction. By outright I don't mean committing here after SU offer is no longer on the table, would still be a good get, just not an over the top win.
-
You are correct when it comes to coaches and admin, but not mine personally.
-
I don't think my attitude will have anything to do with where he commits. Let's be honest here, the first thing that has to happen is start beating out SU on some of these commits, they've owned the area for recruits. Who's the last kid who committed to the Hawks over them? Some will say Belquist but SU decided, wrongly I might add, to offer someone else over him. Huge mistake on their part but we all know he would have went their over the Hawks had they offered more than a partial or Walk On, after all his Dad is an alumni. Good for the Hawks but I wouldn't call it a recruiting win. O lineman from this year...Wagner?? He had an SU offer as well but he waited too long. By the time he committed they had 3 OL commits, all 3 stars by the way. You can look these things up on 247. It's a good recruiting resource complete with timelines on offer and commit dates. IMO opinion some of those recruiting battles need to be won before the tide begins to turn in the Hawks favor.
-
That's great but do you think there's a chance he'll come here?
-
I'm thinking the ones with only Hawk offers should be shoo-ins.
-
Just click on their Twitter handle, it usually shows.
-
Probably not a popular take but remember Bubba and staff also offered a lot of guys with good offer lists but didn't land them. Granted, it's nice to see these offers go out but time will tell if the new staff can land any of them.

Hard to argue what he's done with the QBs in their program.
-
I was asking a serious question. Didn't know so I thought I'd ask. Sorry if some folks thought it was stupid.
-
Are you shitting me? Can't tell.
-
How did his defense do at San Diego...were they competitive?
-
He has really upped his passing game. Will be interesting to see if he, or Miller, win the Walter Peyton.
-
Yes, facilities and good leadership can turn the tables rather quickly.
-
I think you are correct, they already had 3 OL with good offer lists committed.
-
I realize stars aren't the end all of recruiting. Not trying to disagree with you but, I follow recruiting somewhat closely for SD and ND schools, and their 3 star signees were that way before they signed. They pretty much all have G5 or P4 offers, some just have a shitload of FCS offers.
-
Holding all the commits was certainly a great job by the interim coach. But with improving the quality of recruits is the goal I don't see this class as any great improvement over past classes. According to 247 UND signed 2 three star and 6 two star recruits. Compare that to the SUs Rabbits signed 11 three stars and 5 two star recruits Byeson signed 16 three star and 5 two recruits. Ain't closing the gap on the SUs that way.

Too bad Hedberg couldn't have been lured back when he left Southern Illinois as he's been killing it down south.
-
Yes, in a way. Could ODU beat the SUs on a consistent basis? Doubt it, FBS in name only. How come no other offers for a 3 star? Probably cause the only reason he was a 3 star is because he did have an FBS offer. What about Feeney or Kaminski offers? I agree with Geaux on the Mollberg point. He was really the only higher rated QB recruit.
-
Went and looked on 247 and according to them Feeney had no offers from the other Dakota schools, or any other FCS school. Q's only other offer was Old Dominion. I wouldn't call them big time recruits. Couldn't find anything on Jerry. Point is that I don't think they're recruiting the right guys. Hard to develop if you don't have the right tools to start with. I guess time will tell. Edit...Kaminsky had other offers from St Thomas, Eastern Illinois and Augustana. Point still stands.

Who really cares where Moo U got seeded? Seems to show jealousy to me. Plenty of things to worry about with this program.
-
I'm certainly not gonna blame him for wanting to be associated with a winning program rather than the mess Bubba has going.
-
Yes, Landry has been a total wreck down south. I think Feeney should have been given a better shot, but I'm not at practice and don't know what the coaches saw.
-
I see what you did there.

Must have had a few before writing that one.
