  1. Great post. I can't wait to faceoff against the Herd in the next few years.
  2. It is all relative. GF people take potshots at smaller towns like Hillsboro. People living in LA and Chicago and NYC make fun of Minneapolis.
  3. Not too crazy, but at a Twins game recently I wore a Sioux hat. Outside the dome, a father and son said "Go Sioux!". The concessions guy said my hat was "sweet" and he would be attending UND this year...asked me a bit about it. As we made our way down to the seats, and usher spotted our UND hats and said "nice hats fellas!". Also ran into a guy wearing a sioux shirt in the concourse...UND fans are EVERYWHERE!!!!
  4. No tailgating at the Alerus, possibly the Canad will allow it in their lot...but I would assume they'd charge a fee to take up their parking spots, for security, etc. (Is the rumor I heard.)
  5. I have also heard these rumors...I would like some facts from the Alerus Center asap!
  6. I'm really excited for the season to start...I don't care who it is against. The night game will be interesting also, adds a bit of a new flavor. I can't remember ever attending a night Sioux football game. Back to the thread topic also...I will either be tailgating or at a Canad bar for this one. I hope the students and community come out in droves.
  7. I am not too worried...doesn't exactly sound like a blockbuster hit.
  8. Any truth to the rumor that the Alerus is getting rid of the tailgating lot and charging for parking? I assume the Canad would give up part of their lot for tailgating, but would have to charge a fee to do so for security, cleanup, etc. I also agree though that the bars/restaurants at the Canad are going to be a sweet place to hangout before and after games.
  9. Was Kevin McKinnon related?

So the mananger is a Sioux fan.... makes me want to patronize it even more now!
  11. I guess he didn't want his season to end for the 3rd time in 4 years to the Sioux. JK. Huge loss for the Gophers in my opinion. His leadership alone will be missed, let alone his skills on the PP. He will have a good NHL career.
  12. I disagree. I make the same here I would there. My house is 100,000 cheaper than an equivalent one in Maple Grove or Burnsville. I don't have to drive far to work, saving gas everyday also. It is much cheaper for me to live here.
  13. I moved back for a job that pays the same as it would in the cities area. I love it here, no matter what people say. Sioux sports played a big role, being closer to northern minnesota (the REAL minnesota), and the fact that GF is growing at a good rate attracted me. The beauty of living in GF is that the cities are a fairly easy 4.5 hour drive, so I can attend Vikings and Twins games, but I get to leave that area afterwards and come back home. I attend the same amount of games as my buddies who live in the cities area, but they are stuck living there and dealing with all the "big city" problems like traffic and crime and high cost of living.
  14. I forgot that the Ralph also sells this one, a bank for around 40 bucks.
  15. I bought this one awhile ago. This one is only 15 bucks, but not nearly as detailed as the one you show.
  16. Well...that certainly didn't hurt when I made the decision to move back...
  17. This is great news! He will be offered many more jobs in the future, hope he sticks around UND and GF. I think he will.
  18. Good jobs keep coming. Young North Dakotans "forced" to live in the Twin Cities and elsewhere: COME BACK HOME! I did.
  19. EXACTLY! What people in northern MN don't understand is that "CITIES" people consider the state of MN's northern boundry to be right around Brainerd.
  20. Are you finally moving to GF or just making the trip up from the cities for home series?

  22. Welcome to the Fighting Sioux family!
  23. Pretty sure I read somewhere that he was finishing classes overseas. All you need is a proctor to administer the exams. (The proctor has to be trustworthy.)

I assume the waterpark targets kids under the age of 16 or so with all the "splashpark" things and little animal figures. I guess I might check it out though once...

From a Canad employee I know: They open tomorrow. It is a "soft" opening. One restaurant open, Waterpark being tested out tomorrow by people in the community. If you are a hotel guest, the person thought that you could use the waterpark as soon as tomorrow. (For a fee of course) Hotel will open in phases.
