I'm with you. There are MANY other FBS teams out there. Playing UMN-TC campus would be good for recruting in the cities area, I'll give you that. It would also be a fun, short drive for alums, but with the ticket shortage, I'm just not excited...I likely wouldn't get a ticket, and if I did, it would be in the middle of gopher fans, not in a dedicated Sioux section. (see: the entire upper deck of the dome when NDSU came to town, which was awesome!)

Exactly. It would have been nice to play the gopher football team while they were in the dome, and the road team could buy up to 30,000 tickets if they wanted. Like someone mentioned above, the new stadium will not offer that same opportunity. (at least for the first few years)

What section did they put you all in for the game? Me and another person I know are in sec 136. I will be wearing a UND green shirt and maybe a Twins hat. Wear green!

If they play Florida State, Illinois, Utah, etc, they play UND with a 30-yr agreement. Nice try.

Does anyone know where Troy sat at the Ralph? He looks very familiar. Thoughts to the family for sure. He sounded like a hell of a guy.

Not elitist attitude, just my favorite sport. I attend all home UND football games, and have made football road trips to Duluth, St Cloud, Mankato and Winona. I am a huge huge UND football fan, just not as big as hockey. I know the people you speak of though, and it kills me that they follow hockey only, but to each their own. I will start following basketball more closely now that there are quality opponents coming through. I was a big basketball fan in the Dave Vonesh days, but after that, slowly drifted away from the mens team, followed womens team pretty close though.

Someone needs to go on that UND hottie thread and post some pics of some hot NoDak girls they have from a party, tubing, etc. I have been a lot of places, and the women here are very very attractive.

I will worship the pigskin when it is a frozen rubber disk. Until then. football is 2nd to hockey. Heck. Beat TT and you have moved up on my list!

Are you Bob Essensa? Maybe Kip Miller? Perhaps Scott Swygman? Scotty S. called the game for Fox TV in 1987, I still have you on VHS. Seriously though, it is obvious that someone within the UND hockey program wronged you at some point. I read your posts and my screen smokes with the heat from your anger.

I am one who will shell out that money for each and every home game as I have season tickets. I wonder what the price difference is for season tickets per game vs. if you bought each game individually? I will be trying to get 4 extra gopher tickets for each for friends.

Ralph has received the only judgement that matters since he has been dead for some time now. I am sick of other teams fans ripping on the guy. Everyone has skeletons. He effed up bigtime with the Nazi themed party, but I think as the years went on, he was a decent man and gave away a TON of his money. None of us really know what he was like as a human being, we can only speculate. I don't think this one incident should define the man. All big money/power guys get where they are due to some unique practices. (especially in Vegas!) I bet if you dug up history on many other bigtime rich "dudes", you would find something you could see as shady. Like Big A HG said, UND hockey is not defined by the Ralph, that is just an accessory to an already historic program. We were bigtime before the Ralph (and the nickname), we will be bigtime as long as there is college hockey.

Like mentioned above: Very nice idea in theory DaveK, but in practice, imagine the costs! Who would foot the bill? How would you attack this problem? Drop flyers from our UAV's across the nation? TV, Radio, Newspaper advertising? Hire folks to go speak in public forums? Not trying to pick apart theories here, but DaveK, your posts are simply and absolutely ridiculous! Come on now!

I just drove by, and they are half done with the southside concrete exterior wall-it is painted a nice green. Looks way better.

So on his blog, grandforksguy says they are painting the Alerus Center green. Has anyone else heard this? Are they painting the concrete parts of the exterior and leaving the silver corrugated metal?

So, I am ignorant. Is the UMN-TC transfer eligible to play IAA (oops, I mean FCS) ball this year? You would think he could contribute if he played a few games at a Big 10 school, even though it was the hapless gophers.

I saw Forbort play one game, and was very impressed. Like you all have said, wait til he gets on the better weight regimen and bulks up.
