  1. Punditry is more of a symptom of the bigger problem nowadays,....those we vote into office. We as citizens, with a common purpose, should be trying to get past the divisive rhetoric our government (on all all levels) is espousing. Vitriol and discordance is being implemented top-down more than ever. Truth and reason is trampled upon in favor of loyalty to a 'team'.
  2. Riiiight. The CDC's H1N1 estimates were meant to provide a sense of scale. The CDC doesn't hide this fact. After April 2009, laboratory data was collected from 62 counties (13 metropolitan areas of 10 states) then extrapolated to the entire U.S. population and then corrected for under-reporting using a multiplier from a previous estimate. At the high-point of the virus (april-nov), total accumulative laboratory recorded deaths equaled 3,900 nation-wide. The CDC's final estimate totals are exponentially higher, for clear and obvious reasons. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-h1n1-pandemic.html Any other conspiracy theories you need debunking?
  3. Very believable scenario. Certainly could explain China’s continued secrecy despite everyone knowing it wasnt bio-engineered. Complete screw up in safety protocol. This generation’s Chernobyl.
  4. I wonder if this played a part in Burgum's decision. Trump told testing is key to reopening during business panel call https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/15/politics/trump-business-council-calls/index.html
  5. Huh? Rolling 4 lines is a strategy predicated on game situations. Our best teams were in a position to do it more than others, primarily based on being ahead on the scoreboard, but, even so, in no parallel universe did all 4 lines receive equal playing time; nor do I ever recall a key player being placed on the 4th line. JMHO of course.
  6. Because you rarely roll 4 lines for an entire game, this hold true for even deep teams. Vital players are always gonna receive the most ice time, even if you exclude PP/PK minutes. I mean I suppose we could play them all at C, but then I'd expect a lot of double shifting at W. That's fine by me.
  7. We’re on the same page. ‘Opening up’ should be implemented incrementally. Our opinions just differ on timetables. Each state should make the decision for itself based on its own specific risk factors. As has been pointed out to you ad nauseam, NYC is too saturated with the virus and does not have the infrastructure to ‘open up’ until Covid is somewhat manageable. When will this occur? Who knows. That’s why Cuomo is rightfully not setting a definitive time-frame to commence opening. Doing as such is beyond irresponsible. That said, other states are completely different. Some should get their butts open as soon as possible (obviously while simultaneously adhering to precautions).
  8. Move Pinto to wing then. I'm just not sold on Pinto, Adams, Weatherby and Senden all down the middle. All 4 will be vital cogs next year, and, implementing them that way just ensures they take ice time away from eachother. .
  9. We have enough depth to load up the top 2 lines and roll all 4. Mismash – Adams – Kawaguchi Weatherby – Pinto – Gaber Hain – Senden – Blaisdell Budy – Keane – Caulfield
  10. The issue isn't this demographic's death rate. The issue is, given a free pass to go anywhere, younger demographics prolonging Covid's infestation and spreading it to vulnerable individuals. Hence my comment about social responsibility; especially in NYC where hospitals, morgues, and cemeteries are overflowing with Covid dead and police, firefighters, etc. are barely hanging on. This isn't astrophysics.
  11. Probably when Covid dies down, or an antidote is distributed. I'd like to think, when you're the epicenter of a pandemic, something like social responsibility enters into the equation.
  12. Actually, the real reason is the propensity for 5G towers to ravage inner-city populations. Let's stay on topic here.
  13. Well, OK. Not that unemployment in ND has anything to do with coronavirus reporting standards and procedures in NYC, but carry on regardless.
  14. Those are secondary factors. Covid is hitting African Americans hard because of socio-economic reasons.
  15. Covid is difficult to test for. As such, NYC is basically following the CDC's protocol and standards for flu reporting.
  16. Germany's been hit hard, but their preparation, tracking and response to Covid has been 1st-rate. One of the few countries to get it right, all things considered. It's no surprise they're in the position to continue Bundesliga play.
  17. From your experience is hydroxychloroquine frequently used in intermediate care? I was under the impression, due to side effects, it's primarily used as a last resort after the kitchen sink has been thrown at the patient.
  18. The Wisconsin 'water bottle' fight looks tame compared to this. That has to be Archibald in the brawl closest to center ice, no? I think I see #15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lsny2H1eqw
  19. What Constitution? I live in Milwaukee. I was among the tons of people who were, for all intents and purposes, denied the right to vote recently. Literally. The DOJ ain't stepping in on our behalf. Yes, it's all politically motivated. Everything, on both sides. Unfortunately.
  20. It's only an initial finding, but the results seem feasible. With limited testing, common sense should tell you that Covid is more prevalent than numbers indicate.
  21. To add to that.... Since this country still doesn't have adequate testing available for everybody, some researchers have been analyzing sewage a method of tracking Covid rates. Some interesting initial findings: Sewage analysis suggests a New England metro area with fewer than 500 COVID-19 cases may have exponentially more https://abcnews.go.com/US/sewage-analysis-suggests-england-metro-area-fewer-500/story?id=70068740
  22. Answering that, in depth, will lead us down a political rabbit hole. But, suffice it to say, the current administration is a gong show, previous administrations never gave two craps to implement a comprehensive response to this potential scenario, and state government is always out to lunch. Meanwhile the science community is screaming about the potential for this to happen to anyone who would listen. Incompetence is institutional. A 2nd world response due to neglect, greed, politics, apathy, and stupidity.
  23. Therein lies the genesis of the problem. The most advanced country in the world put forth a 2nd world response; all entities of government. And because of such, there is no optimal solution.
