We need a drive for 7 here or this thing is over. Our d is like a sieve. Entire line backing corps on their heels waiting for the play 5 yards down field and secondary waiting for the catch and then pursue. What do they need to do to get this d to want to play…

We really need to set the edge. Outside is like a valley to go through for them…

It’s what we do. Gotta keep that 70 percent completion percentage…. We have at least taken 2 passes more than 5 yards. One that should have been caught and one not even close to Wes…. At least keep them honest a little…. At least better than the northern Iowa game…

Tommy has been a good solid qb with great stats but it needs to be Trey or Jerry next year. Need a qb that can win a game, not just control it….

And it’s not like we are good at adjustments at half…. We have a game plan and continue it regardless of success…. If the d doesn’t decide to show up it doesn’t matter what the offense will do. They look like they had a hell of a Thanksgiving party….

What do we need receivers for? We need running backs that can catch behind the line of scrimmage…

The fact we can’t get off the field on 3rd and long is not an accident. Soft coverage everywhere and we tackle by grabbing the pads rather than hitting anyone…

Our secondary is so ridiculously bad. Stand around in zone and wait to tackle the wide open receiver all day long…

And our lack of balls gives us a behind the line of scrimmage pass on 3rd and 9. Seriously??? Let’s at least pretend we want to win this thing….

Is this really the same defense that beat the bison???? The names seem to be the same but the desire is gone…

Can we let them get to 3rd and 3 so we don’t have to defend 3rd and long. We don’t seem to have an answer to that one….

Seriously Danny. Throw behind the line of scrimmage to Bo for a 5 yard loss. Do we have other plays besides a double reverse flea flicker??? They apparently have seen film on the last 3 of 4 games we couldn’t score a single point…. And kept doing the same thing that didn’t work…

Kings shot is definitely not a thing of beauty but he does have pretty good vision and looks to create. We have needed that the last couple of years. I think he will continue to improve as they get more used to playing together and knowing each others tendencies.

We anll need to remember we are very young. Kacie is the only experience we have - at all. I’m not counting Davis, as I have never understood that obsession - although she actually hit 2 from the outside last night, which was promising. Last year, teams would give her 10 feet and dare her to shoot. Unfortunately, she is just too small and a turnover waiting to happen. We need to figure out a real point guard to lead this team. The rest of the crew will continue to get better with experience. We had real struggles playing good team defense - not knowing who was covering who after showing on screens and getting back out to cover the 3. Again, that should improve over time with a young team. Pemberton is the real deal. She showed incredible skills and poise for her age and will unquestionably be starting and a key piece of the puzzle. Kacie, Hurst, and Pemberton, once they get a chance to play together, will significantly improve our offensive production. Mallory does, however, need to teach them how to create significantly more movement on offense. I am hoping that is just youth and inexperience, although we fell in that trap last year at times with mostly seniors as well. We didn’t see much of anything for outside shooters last night, but mostly because we didn’t move the ball well enough to get good open looks. Beal is incredibly athletic but still needs to learn the system better. She will be all right. Vanderwal was not overly impressive last night, but you can’t teach 6’7”. They need to figure out how to keep her in the paint defensively. If she gets pulled out to the top of the key all of the time, she won’t make it back in. If we keep her in the paint, she could change shots on the drive with her size. Our other younger recruits just looked young. There were flashes of skill that came out, but they are going to take time to develop.

I would feel bad, but we didn’t deserve this one anyway. Defense was not great, but offense is atrocious. Play calling was god awful and we don’t have coaches capable of making an adjustment - ever….

We will see a steady dose of pass from here on out. They have found our Achilles heel in the secondary…. 38 yards to go and we give it to them easily.

Tommy is 14 for 18 again - for 109 yards. 95% on passes behind the line of scrimmage and 20% past the line of scrimmage, possibly?? All those receivers and tight ends and no ability to throw a crossing route, a seam route, or go deep whatsoever. SD just waiting for the pass behind the line of scrimmage.

You would almost think SD has seen tape on our passes behind the line of scrimmage…..

Sometimes we can’t get out of our way. 3rd and forever with a a deep in the end zone throwing it away and we get a roughing the passer call after he throws it away. seriously????
