If we get over our turnover fest, we will be fine. Haven’t shot well at all, have had way too many turnovers and are still right in this.

One other game that really should be in the top 5 was the win over Emporia in the Elite 8 in Pine Bluff Arkansas - which is kind of a misnomer saying anything is elite in Pine Bluff. Despite being number 1 in the polls literally all year long, the announcers were giving us no chance whatsoever. The Kurscaite twins were twin towers destined for the WNBA and would eat us alive. Jenny Crouse ended that story and Jamie Pudenz and Katie Richards were incredible. Emporia brought a nice crowd to the game as did UND and the place was electric, unlike the other games where each team brought 20 people to the game. The game was the semifinal but truly was the championship. I remember doing the Conga with Gene Roebuck in the hotel bar attached to the arena afterwards. Truly one of the best UND women’s games I have ever seen.

Sather and crew made major strides forward at the end of the year. Hope we can build on that and keep our young players for next year. Would love to see Norman back. He developed into a serious 3 point threat at the end of the year.

Trey has done a nice job today. Made a couple of perfect back door feeds which are there all day with their overplay on the outside. We seriously need to learn to talk on picks though. Can’t figure out switching or not switching and someone is left wide open. Half the reason that everyone shoots 50 to 60 percent against us…

I can’t remember if he was last year but he was not out with the rest of the seniors this year. Just Brady, Nero, and Norman…

Still listed as a junior but was one recognized as a senior and Seuker was not…

Congratulations and thank you to the seniors and Mal. They have been a big part of turning around a program where we were praying for a win - any win - a couple of years ago to a culture where we expect to win again every night. It’s great to see the program as a contender again. Now let’s finish this out and get into the post season.

Is there a benefit to dumping the puck out of the defensive zone to let DU bring it back in while down 4 goals that I am not understanding? Would it be possible for us at least try and connect a pass to one of our own players for a change???

Can certainly see how that one was called, but not after they didn’t call Caponi for his tear after someone who was nowhere close to the puck and hit high and leveled him blindside. It’s no wonder that every coach in the NCHC hates the officiating that occurs with Denver - especially when they appear to teach diving and holding their head after any contact.

Got a beautiful feed right in front of the net but couldn’t connect to put it away. It was one of the first nice looks we have had though…

Every possession they drive in to an automatic foul called. And they have been almost automatic at the line…. Don’t seem to have a charge in their list of calls tonight…

Trent has had an awesome game, but fouling the shooter on the 3 with 4 seconds left will not be a highlight for him today…

Trent has been great today. If we could develop him a shooting touch at all, he would be incredible…

Omaha taking hard show at top of the key on picks taking away the 3 and leaving T wide open in the lane as a result. U fortunately, we haven’t made them pay by getting it to him yet so they continue to overplay the 3 - hence our 25 percent shooting from the arc…

Exactly. Our goalies haven’t always been great either, but most of the goals have been point blank shots left wide open by terrible defense. Or utterly stupid turnovers right in front of the next that the goalie has no chance on.

Agreed but watching her on the floor there is no reason she should not have more minutes. She is a spark every time she is on the floor. Don’t give her a reason to think about the portal. Coaching has unfortunately taken on a new element with high level entry player and we need to adapt with it…

I’m just hoping that Beal will be here with the limited court time she is seeing. Hurst is working much harder on d and seeing the Court better every game. She will be a force. I think Beal has that potential based on sheer athleticism but she hasn’t seen very much playing time…. We could certainly use her length and speed at times…

SDSU is just too big for us to match up well. Refs let the physicality go in the paint and didn’t make one 3 second call all game - and not for a lack of opportunities. That was definitely not in our favor. Kacie worked hard but ran into one 6’1 bunny after another and didn’t get an open look anywhere. Same story outside. Just too big to get a good look. Bright spot was Hurst. Physical enough to match SDSU and she hustled on defense. If she continues to get better defensively she is going to be a force. Still can’t figure out the limited minutes for Beal. She is too long and athletic not to have on the floor…

When everyone you play shoots close to 60 percent, it may be time to evaluate your defense and make some adjustments.

We are just more athletic with more basketball skills. Bison are big and physical but not very quick and athletic. As long as we don’t make the mistake of slowing down and playing to their strengths I think we take them if we meet again. At the end we slowed down and they climbed back in the game. When we pushed the tempo, they can’t stay with us. Good win to build on.

Started playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Stick with what was working…

Good for Maggie. Nice game against the rival. Need to keep pushing. They are just not very fast or athletic. Don’t go into stall with lead mode. Keep the pressure on and blow this thing away!!!
