    Goofer fans.

Guess since there were some over-exuberant Sioux fans on USCHO last week also, should expect the same from some Gophers. Like I posted somewhere, I'd be ready for CC to win out and conceed the McNaughton, which would give the Sioux the best possible shot at second, considered the teams CC would beat in their final four series. Sweep the Gophs, CC. Let them scramble for third for the rest of the season.
  2. Sioux are still in good position for second place, in which case it looks like Wisco will come to the REA for the playoffs. May come down to the final weekend at Wisco, where the Sioux may need to sweep to take second. With four games in hand on Kato, they not only need to sweep the Sioux, but get help to finish second. The McNaughton, however, is a very long shot. Don't see CC giving the Sioux much help by losing, even though they play the better teams for the remainder of the season. Do we have to hope for at least one Gopher win next weekend? Sorry, can't do it
  3. WCHA Final Team GP Pts CC 28 45 UND 28 41 Mankato 28 33 SCSU 28 33 UMN 28 33 Denver 28 32 UMD 28 25 MTech 28 19 UW 28 11 AA 28 8
  4. That should provide some incentive should they meet again. THe Sioux do not handle the large ice surface the way CC does. They really spread out and slow the game down, while maintaining possession of the puck for most of the game. A totally different game on that ice surface. I much prefer these two good teams on the small surface, for obvious reasons. It is apparent that the Sioux cannot afford to lose any of the D corps. D Hale may have been a bigger loss than Jones/Greene in the first series, considering that CC had Stuart for this one.
  5. Solid D by CC tonight. Sioux had to take chances in the third that resulted in odd man rushes by CC, and the third goal. Too bad Leinweber's shot didn't get inside the post to tie the game. Shepard with a nasty game, awful. Postivies were the PK, which was good all weekend. CC is much better at using the large ice surface to their advantage than are the Sioux. Would rather see the Sioux somewhere other than Mariucci in the playoffs. What the heck went on after the game. Beer bottles thrown at the Sioux. Liebel pulling something that TH calls classless, and the Sioux won't shake his hand. ? Apparently he was taunting the Sioux in the hand shake line.
  6. That felt much like the 6-2 lead at Wisco last year. Better show some grit tonight. Hope the flu doesn't catch up with more of the players.
  7. Even if PCM got Blais answer on Crosby exactly right, one could argue it's within the rules.

    The Hales

Nice story, PCM. Now the Sioux need to win an NCCA title for (and with) the Hales. Nice to be back (from AZ) to ice and hockey. Had no idea what went on last weekend until today. Brutally hot down there also; the cold feels good
  11. The Ferris poster has been a dufus before this thread, so I don't worry about it. I'd guess he helped get Spie some more votes. And since you can vote just once for each player, tough to stuff the ballot box (unless you like to spend time with multiple registrations). I gave both Spiewak and Notermann a vote, because both are deserving seniors, imo.
  12. You haven't seen me draw, especially with a mouse. Think I should forget about applying for that web guy/graphics person at the REA? You're right, PCM, I would not have know what the fuss was about, had U2 not made his comment that got things rolling. Nice story, but had no idea who Roberg is, or why the name doesn't ring a bell from past Sioux/Gopher series.
  13. I see a couple more Goph avatars have shown up that need a little work, when I have time. (Won't mess with Roberg's though, after the explanation). For now, since I went through school (long ago) hating the Gophs, I'm having trouble playing nice on this message board. So, rather than attempt to explain myself with words, I'll just add this:
  14. That the one you mean, dagies?
  15. Beats his wife (former), shoots his dog. Guess the ex should feel lucky
  16. Accepted, I'm deleting my post to get your "quote" off the thread. Might be decent of you to use the "edit" button.
  17. Maybe Ed will pay the way. Sounds like he has millions lieing around
  18. Someone mentioned Easton Synergy's in another thread. An article on the sticks in the most recent USA Hockey mag lists several players that use them. Pressing, in the article, credits, at least partially, his increased scoring prowess on using the Synergy. Does anyone know how many Sioux players are using these new high tech sticks?
  19. Definitely a self-superiorty complex. Laughable, given the quality of his shows. A complete moron; can't believe he entertains anyone, I can't listen to the dolt. Have another donut, Ed.
  20. Having heard (streaming audio) the Kato PP light the Sioux up at the REA (7/14 I believe) had to wonder where our PK was headed. But watching that PP against Denver on FXRM Saturday night, one can see why their first PP unit is so successful. Awesome puck movement, the best I've seen for years (yes, better than the Goph PP last year). Denver does have defensive problems, predictable with the dmen they lost to graduation last year. Although good goaltending helps, it is only as good as the D in front of it. Denver would be an awesome team, up with the Sioux and CC in the WCHA, if they had the Sioux defense. The Sioux have been fairly lucky to get refereeing the last two series that tended to let the teams play. If Adams or anyone else that likes to dole out 6-10 PP's for each team shows up in Kato, will be a lot tougher series when the Sioux go there. Same goes for the MN series this weekend. Don't know who is scheduled there but the Gophs better hope for a "very few penalties" weekend, if they have any hope of sweeping (or not being swept).
